Picture Guide to Autumn Leaves in Central Kyoto
(Updated October 2011)
In the late autumn, it is not so much crowded in Central Kyoto. So, we can afford to take our time in Central Kyoto. The best time of most of the sites is late November.
It is convenient to take Keihan Electric Railway, Kyoto City Subway & Bus to get there.
The following tables show my observation results on the autumn leaves at the prominent sites in Kyoto, 2009 and 2010.
Well, I'll show the picture of each site with one or two words.

Nishijin 西陣
It is convenient to walk or take bus from Imadegawa station (Kyoto City Subway), or to take bus from Nijo station (JR).

This area is strongly in connection with the Emperor and the Imperial Court. The maples there are also elegant.

There are plenty of maple and ginkgo trees in a wide area. We can enjoy vivid autumn colors for a good while here.
