Ten years ago I visited Okinawa for the first time.
At that time, I wanted to go to Shuri Castle, but I couldn't.
I had written my blog about the accident ten years ago as follows. (Sorry... this is Japanese only)
Actually, I had twisted all the fingers on my left foot, because I had been watching the whales on the boat in the rough sea.
And, I couldn't walk around Shuri Castle.
However, you already knew that the fire of Shuri Castle was happened on 31.10.2019.
I was thinking if I could have visited Shuri Castle at that time ... but, I didn't want to regret it!
I might not get a chance to see Shuri Castle while it's being restored, except now.
And, I rather hope that the accident to need some restorations will not happen again.
So, I went to Shuri Castle during the restoration, which I had admired for ten years.
First, we went through the Shurei Gate.
Then, we went through many different types of gate.
Then, we visited the place where the main building of Shuri Castle had been build before it burned down.
It seemed that we could see the traditional building techniques of Shuri Castle from the windows.
Let's look together!
What did you see in the last one?
Actually, the rose made of wood shavings!
So nice!
I wondered what I was doing in this picture
Oh, I see... I was comparing the size between my hand and the tooth and the eye of 'Ryuutoumunakazari', which had burned down.
Since Shuri Castle will be completed in the autumn of 2026, we will be able to see the following about two years from now.
Then we walked through the Hakugin Gate, and headed for the Agari no Azana.
The view from about 140m above.
We could see far away!
If the weather is good, it seems that we are able to see Kudaka Island.
I thought I saw... maybe.
At last, we walked through the Shukujun Gate, and down.
I thought that Shuri Castle was really sutable red.
I would like to come to Shuri Castle again, when the restoration is complete.
