[Only 6 Seats Left] An Invitation to the Shuwa no Machi Ikebana Workshop: Where “Constraints” Turn into “Beauty”
Hello, this is Miho Morioka, an Ikebana artist and performer.
"I'm not good with my hands, so maybe it's not for me..."
"I feel a language barrier, so I'm a bit afraid to communicate with new people..."
If you feel this way right now, I invite you to an experience where that very feeling can transform into your own unique "beauty."
This November, at the "Shuwa no Machi: Tokyo International Deaf Arts Festival" held at Za-Koenji in Tokyo, the Tochunan-kyo Ikebana Class, which I am a part of, will be holding a special Ikebana Experience Workshop.
Date & Time: November 7, 2025 (Friday) 10:10 - 11:30
This workshop is not just a place to learn floral techniques.
It is a special 90-minute "journey of dialogue" to experience together the philosophy I cherish in my life's work: "Life as Art" - a story of transforming "constraints" into "beauty" and regenerating the soul.
◆ A Place Where Language Barriers (Constraints) Turn into the Joy of Connection (Beauty)
◆ The workshop will accommodate Japanese Sign Language, spoken Japanese, and International Sign.
Deaf, Hard of Hearing, and hearing people from all countries are very welcome. We will also provide materials in both Japanese and English, so everyone can participate with peace of mind, regardless of language or hearing ability.
◆ A Moment Where Awkwardness (Constraint) Turns into Individuality (Beauty)
◆ Being "good" or "bad" at this has no meaning.
The work you create with your heart, even if you feel it's "uncontrollable," is a unique and beautiful piece of art, the only one of its kind in the world.
The time you spend with the flowers will speak of your inner self more eloquently than any words.
We have already received applications, and only 6 seats remain. With the desire to connect with each participant carefully, we have made this an intimate gathering with a capacity of only 10 people.
If you want to try something new, find your own way of expression, or meet new friends through sign language and art, I sincerely await you. Registration takes only 3 minutes from the link below.
