敬虔な女性の５つの行動

おそらく、殆どの敬虔な女性達はこれら５つのことを日常生活の中で実行していることでしょう。

1)自分の全身全霊をもって神を愛すること

マタイ22章37節

『心を尽くし、思いを尽くし、知力を尽くして、あなたの神である主を愛せよ。』第一の戒め

2)他者を愛すること

マタイ22章39節

『あなたの隣人をあなた自身のように愛せよ。』第二の戒め

3)知恵と優しさに満ちている敬虔な女性

箴言31章26節

彼女は口を開いて知恵深く語り、その舌には恵みのおしえがある。

知恵と知識は同じものではありません。知識とは、情報を得ることであり、知恵とは、その情報をどのように適用するかを理解し見極めることです。

敬虔な女性は知恵の中に歩んでいます。知恵は（人生における）経験からのものであり、20歳くらいの若さで賢いと思われる人はあまりいません。

人生において、私たちが恵みの中で成長し、神と隣人への愛が深まるにつれて、知恵も深まって行くのです。

敬虔な女性は、これらすべてを親切に行うということです。

現代社会は、優しさは弱さだと教えています。親切な気質で身を処している女性は、柔和で弱い、あるいは素朴だとは見なされないはずです。他人がどう言おうとも、彼女は敬虔な人柄を示しているのです。知恵と優しさは敬虔な人柄に必要なものなのです。

4)慈悲深く、寛容である敬虔な女性

エペソ４章

31）無慈悲、憤り、怒り、叫び、そしりなどを、いっさいの悪意とともに、みな捨て去りなさい。

32）お互いに親切にし、心の優しい人となり、神がキリストにおいてあなたがたを赦してくださったように、互いに赦し合いなさい。

5)謙遜である敬虔な女性

ミカ6章８節

主はあなたに告げられた。人よ。何が良いことなのか。主は何をあなたに求めておられるのか。それは、ただ公義を行ない、誠実を愛し、へりくだって、あなたの神とともに歩むことである。

コロサイ４章２節

目をさまして、感謝をもって、たゆみなく祈りなさい。

神が創造した性別の由来の意味を否定するような終りの時代。

The end times, which would deny the meaning of the origin of the gender God created.

人々は、聞こうともしなかった ーThe people would not listenー

エレミヤ書６章10節/Jeremiah 6:10 (HNV)

私はだれに語りかけ、だれをさとして、聞かせようか。見よ。彼らの耳は閉じたままで、聞くこともできない。見よ。主のことばは、彼らにとって、そしりとなる。彼らはそれを喜ばない。

To whom shall I speak and testify, that they may hear? behold, their ear is uncircumcised, and they can't listen: behold, the word of the LORD is become to them a reproach; they have no delight in it.

イザヤ書６章/Isaiah 6:9

９）すると仰せられた。「行って、この民に言え。『聞き続けよ。だが悟るな。見続けよ。だが知るな。』

He said, "Go, and tell people, 'You hear indeed, But don't understand; And you see indeed, But don't perceive.'

10）この民が心を肥え鈍らせ、その耳を遠くし、その目を堅く閉ざせ。自分の目で見、自分の耳で聞き、自分の心で悟り、立ち返って、いやされることのないために。」

Make the heart of this people fat; Make their ears heavy, and shut their eyes; Lest they see with their eyes, And hear with their ears, And understand with their heart, And turn again, and be healed."

11）私が「主よ、いつまでですか。」と言うと、主は仰せられた。「町々は荒れ果てて、住む者がなく、家々も人がいなくなり、土地も滅んで荒れ果て、

Then I said, "Lord, how long?" He answered, "Until cities are waste without inhabitant, And houses without man, And the land becames utterly waste.

12）主が人を遠くに移し、国の中に捨てられた所がふえるまで。

And the LORD has removed men far away, And the forsaken places are many in the midst of the land.

13）そこにはなお、十分の一が残るが、それもまた、焼き払われれる。テレビンの木や樫の木が切り倒されるときのように。しかし、その中に切り株がある。聖なるすえこそ、その切り株。」

If there are yet a tenth in it, it also shall in turn be eaten up: As a terbinth, and as an oak, whose stock remains, when they are felled; So the holy seed its stock."

伝道者の書12章/Ecclesoastes 12

１）あなたの若い日に、あなたの創造者を覚えよ。わざわいの日が来ないうちに、また、「何の喜びもない。」という年月が近づく前に。

Remember also your Creator in the days of your youth, Before the evil days come, and the years draw near, When you will say, "I have no pleasure in them;"

２）太陽と光、月と星が暗くなり、雨の後にまた雨雲がおおう前に（ヨエル書3:15、マタイ24:29、黙示録6:12）。

Before the sun, the light, the moon, and the stars are darkened, And the clouds return after the rain (Joel 3:15, Matthew 24:29, Revelation 6:12).

3)その日には、家を守る者は震え、力ある男たちは身をかがめ、粉ひき女たちは少なくなって仕事をやめ、窓からながめている女の目は暗くなる。

In the day when the keepers of the house shall tremble, And the strong men shall bow themselves, And the grinders cease because they are few, And those who look out of the windows are darkened,

４）通りのとびらは閉ざされ、臼をひく者も低くなり、人は鳥の声に起き上がり、歌を歌う娘たちはみなうなだれる。

And the doors shall be shut in the street; When the sound of the grinding is low, And one shall rise up at the voice of a bird, And all the daughters of music shall be brought low;

５）彼らはまた高いところを恐れ、道でおびえる。アーモンドの花は咲き、いなごはのろのろ歩き、ふうちょうぼくは花を開く。だが、人は永遠の家へと歩いて行き、嘆く者たちが通りを歩き回る。

Yes, they shall be afraid of height, And terrors will be in the way; And the almond tree shall blossom, And the khagav shall be a burden, And desire shall fail; Because man goes to his everlasting home, And the mourners go about the streets:

６）こうしてついに、銀のひもは切れ、金の器は打ち砕かれ、滑車が井戸のそばでこわされる。

Before the silver cord is severed, Or the golden bowl is broken, Or the pitcher is broken at the spring, Or the wheel broken at the cistern,

７）ちり（肉体）はもとあった地に帰り、霊はこれを下さった神に帰る（ルカ23:46、使徒7:59）。

And the dust returns to the eretz as it was, And the spirit returns to God who gave it (Luke 23:46, Acts 7:59).

８）空の空（虚栄の中の虚栄）。伝道者は言う。すべては空（虚栄）。

Vanity of vanities, says Kohelet; All is vanity!

９）伝道者は知恵ある者であったが、そのうえ、知識を民に教えた。彼は思索し、探求し、多くの箴言をまとめた。

Further, because Kohelet was wise, he still taught the people knowledge. Yes, he pondered, sought out, and set in order many proverbs.

10）伝道者は適切なことばを見いだそうとし、真理のことばを正しく書き残した。

The Preacher sought to find out acceptable words, and that which was written blamelessly, words of truth.

11）知恵ある者のことばは突き棒のようなもの（使徒2:37）、編集されたものは良く打ちつけられた釘のような者である。これらはひとりの羊飼い（主なる神キリスト）によって与えられた。

The words of the wise are like goads (Acts 2:37); and like nails well fastened are words from the masters of a asemblies, which are given from one shepherd (Christ the Lord God).

12）わが子よ。これ以外のことに注意せよ。多くの本を作ることには、限りがない。多くのものに熱中すると、からだが疲れる。

Furthermore, my son, be admonished: of making many books there is no end; and much study is a weariness of the flesh.

13）結局のところ、もうすべてが聞かされていることだ。神を恐れよ。神の命令を守れ。これが人間にとってすべてである。

This is the end of the matter. All has been heard Fear God, and keep his mizvot; for this is the whole duty of man.

14）神は、善であれ悪であれ、すべての隠れたことについて、すべてのわざをさばかれるからだ。

For God will bring every work into judgment, with every hidden thing, whether it is good, or whether it is evil.

生かす御霊 ーThe Life-Giving Spiritー

第一コリント15章/1Corinthians 15 (Inter B)

45）聖書に『最初のアダムは生きた者となった。」と書いてありますが、最後のアダム（イエス･キリスト）は、生かす御霊となりました。

So it is written: "The first man Adam became a living;" the last Adam (Jesus Christ) a life-giving spirit.

46）最初にあったのは血肉のものであり、御霊のものでありません。御霊のものは後に来るのです。

The spiritual, however, was not first, but the natural, and then the spiritual.

47）第一の人は地から出て、土で造られた者ですが、第二の人は天から人から出た者です。

The first man was of the dust of the earth, the second man from heaven.

48）土で造られた者はみな、この土で造られた者に似ており、天からの者はみな、この天から出た者に似ているのです。

As was the earthly man, so also are those who are of the earth; and as is the heavenly man, so also are those who are heaven.

49）私たちは土で造られた者のかたちを持っていたように、天上のかたちを（生かす御霊によって）持つのです。

And just as we have borne the likeness of the earthly man, so also shall we bear the likeness of the heavenly man (by the life-giving Spirit).

ローマ８章/Romans 8

28）神を愛する人々、すなわち、神のご計画に従って召された人々のためには、神がすべてのことを働かせて益としてくださることを、私たちは知っています。

And we know that God works all things together for the good of those who love Him, who are called according to His purpose.

29）なぜなら、神は、あらかじめ知っておられる人々を、御子のかたちと同じ姿にあらかじめ定められたからです。それは、御子が多くの兄弟たちの中で長子となられるためです。

For those God foreknew, he also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, so that He would be the firstborn among many brothers.

30）神はあらかじめ定めた人々をさらに召し、召した（その召しに答えた）人々をさらに義と認め、義と認めた人々にさらに栄光をお与えになりました。

And those He prestined, He also called; those He called (and answered to His call), He also justified; thsoe He justified, He also glorified.

For you have been born again, not of perishable seed, but of imperishable, through the living and enduring word of God.

24）「人はみな草のようで、その栄えは、みな草の花のようだ。草はしおれ、花は散る。

For "All flesh is like grass, and all its glory like the flowers of the field; the grass withers and the flowers fall,

25）しかし、主のことばは、とこしえに変わることがない。」とあるからです。あなたがたに宣べ伝えられた福音のことばがこれです。

But the word of the Lord stands forever." And this is the word that was proclaimed to you.

ヨハネ16章/John 16

７）しかし、わたしは真実を言います。わたしが去って行くことは、あなたがたにとって益なのです。それは、もしわたしが去って行かなければ、助け主があなたがたのところに来ないからです。しかし、もし行けば、わたしは助け主をあなたがたのところに遣わします。

But I tell you the truth, it is for your benefit that I am going away. Unless I go away, the Advocate will not come to you; but if I go, I will send Him to you.

８）その方が来ると、罪について、義について、さばきについて、世にその誤りを認めさせます。

And when He comes, He will convict the world in regard to sin and righteousness and judgment:

９）罪についてというのは、彼らがわたしを信じないからです。

In regard to sin, because they do not believe in Me;

10）また、義についてとは、わたしが父のもとに行き、あなたがたがもはやわたしを見なくなるからです。

In regard to righteousness, because I am going to the Father and you will no longer see Me;

11）さばきについてとは、この世を支配する者がさばかれたからです。

And in regard to judgment, because the prince of this world has been condemned.

12）わたしには、あなたがたに話すことがまだたくさんありますが、今あなたがたはそれに耐える力がありません。

I Still have much to tell you, but you cannot yet bear to hear it.

13）しかし、その方、すなわち真理の御霊が来ると、あなたがたをすべての真理に導き入れます。御霊は自分から語るのではなく、（神であるキリストから）聞くままを話し、また、やがて起ころうとしていることをあなたがたに示すからです。

However, when the Spirit of truth comes, He will guide you into all truth. For He will not speak on His own, but He will speak what He hears (from Christ the God), and He will declare to you what is to come.

14）御霊はわたし（イエス･キリスト）の栄光を現わします。わたしのものを受けて、あなたがたに知らせるからです。

He will gloryfy Me (Jesus Christ) by taking from what is Mine and disclosing it to you.

15）父が持っておられるものはみな、わたしのものです。ですからわたしは、御霊がわたしのものを受けて、あなたがたに知らせると言ったのです。

Ecerything that belongs to the Father is Mine. That is why I said that the Spirit will take from what is Mine and disclose it to you.

16）しばらくするとあなたがたは、もはやわたしを見なくなります。しかし、またしばらくすると（御霊によって）わたしを見ます。

In a little while you will see Me no more, and then after a little while you will see Me (by the Holy Spirit).

使徒１章

３）イエスは苦しみを受けた後、四十日の間、彼らに現われて、神の国のことを語り、数多くの確かな証拠をもって、ご自分が生きていることを使徒たちに示された。

After His suffering, He presented Himself to them with many convicting proofs that He was alive. He appeared to them over a span of forty days and spoke about the kingdom of God.

４）彼らといっしょにいるとき、イエスは彼らにこう命じられた。「エルサレムを離れないで、わたしから聞いた父の約束を待ちなさい。

And while they were gathered together, He commanded them: "Do not leave Jerusalem, but wait for the gift the Father promised, which you have heard Me discuss.

５）ヨハネは水でバプテスマを授けたが、もう間もなく、あなたがたは聖霊のバプテスマを受けるからです。」

For John baptized with water, but in a few days you will baptized with the Holy Spirit."

６）そこで、彼らは、いっしょに集まったとき、イエスにこう尋ねた。「主よ。今こそ、イスラエルのために国を再興してくださるのですか。」

So when they came together, they asked Him, "Lord, will you at this time restore the kingdom to Israel?"

７）イエスは言われた。「いつとか、どんなときとかいうことは、あなたがたは知らなくてもよいのです。それは、父がご自分の権威をもってお定めになっています。

Jesus replied, "It is not for you to know times or seasons that the Father has fixed by His own authority.

８）しかし、聖霊（生かすキリストの御霊）があなたがたの上に臨まれるとき、あなたがたは力を受けます。そして、エルサレム、ユダヤとサマリヤの全土、および地の果てにまで、わたしの証人となります。

But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit (the life-giving Spirit) comes upon you, and you will be My witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judah and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth."

９）こう言ってから、イエスは彼らが見ている間に上げられ、雲に包まれて、見えなくなられた。

After He had said this, they watched as He was taken up, and a cloud hid Him their sight.

10）イエスが上って行かれるとき、見よ、白い衣を着た人がふたり、彼らのそばに立っていた。

They were looking intently into the sky as he was going, when suddenlu two men dressed in white stood beside them.

11）そして、こう言った。「ガリラヤの人たち。なぜ天を見上げて立っているのですか。あなたがたを離れて天に上げられたこのイエスは、天に上って行かれるのをあなたがたが見たときと同じ有様で、またおいでになります。」

"Men of Galilee," they said, "why do you stand here looking into the sky? This same Jesus, who has been taken from you into heaven, will come back in the same way you have seen Him go into heaven."

マタイ16章27節/Matthew 16

人の子は父の栄光を帯びて、御使いたちとともに、やがて来ようとしているのです。その時には、おのおのその行ないに応じて報いをします。

For the Son of Man will come in His Father's glory with His angels, and then He will repay each one according to what he has done.

箴言31章/Proverbs 31 (HNV)

１）マサの王レムエルが母から受けた戒めのことば。

The wirds if king Lemo'el; the oracle which his mother taught him.

10）しっかりした妻をだれが見つけることができよう。

Who can find a worthy woman? For her price is far above tubies.

11）夫の心は彼女を信頼し、彼は「収入」に欠けることがない。

The heart of her husband trusts in her. He shall have no lack of gain.

12）彼女は生きながらえている間、夫に良いことをし、悪いことをしない。

She does him good, and not harm, All the days of her life.

13）彼女は羊毛や亜麻を手に入れ、喜んで自分の手でそれを仕上げる。

She seeks wool and flax, And works eagerly with her hands.

14）彼女は商人の舟のように、遠い所から食糧を運んでくる。

She is like the merchant ships. She brings her bread from afar.

15）彼女は夜明け前に起き、家の者に食事を整え、召使の女たちに用事を言いつける。

She rises also while it is yet night, Gives food to her household, And portions for her servant girls.

ローマ12章/Romans 12 (Inter 12)

11）勤勉で怠らず、霊に燃え、主に仕えなさい。

In diligence not lagging, in spirit being fervent, the Lord serving,

12）望みを抱いて喜び、艱難に耐え、絶えず祈りに励みなさい。

In hopr rejoicing, in tribulation being patient, in prayer being constant,

13）聖徒の入用に協力し、旅人をもてなしなさい。

To the needs of the saints contributing, hospitality pursuing.

ルカ12章/Luke 12

42）主は言われた。「では、主人から、その家のしもべたちを任されて、食事時には彼らに食べ物を与える忠実な思慮深い管理人とは、いったいだれでしょう。

And said the Lord, Who then is the faithful manager [and] the wise, whom will set the master over the care [of servants] of him, to give [them] in season the measure of food?

43）主人が帰って来たときに、そのようにしているのを見られるしもべは幸いです。

Blessed [is] the servant that whom having come the master of him will find doing thus.

16）彼女は畑をよく調べて、それを手に入れ、自分がかせいで、ぶどう畑を作り、

She considers a field, and buys it. With the fruit of her hands, she plants a vineyard.

17）腰に帯を強く引き締め、勇ましく腕をふるまう。

She girdeth her loins with strength, and strengthenth her arms.

エペソ６章/Ephesians 6

14）では、しっかりと立ちなさい。腰には真理の帯を締め、胸には正義の胸当てを着け、

Stand therefore, having girded the loins of you with truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness,

15）足には平和の福音の備えをはきなさい。

18）彼女は収入がよいのを味わい、そのともしびは夜になっても消えない。

She perceives that her merchandise is profitable. Her lamp doesn't go out by night.

19）彼女は糸取り棒に手を差し伸べ、手に糸巻きをつかむ。

She lays her hands to the distaff, And her hands hold the spindle.

20）彼女は悩んでいる人に手を差し出し、貧しい者に手を差し伸べる。

She opens her arms to the poor, Yes, she extends her hands to the needy.

エペソ４章28節/Ephesians 4:28

盗みをしている者は、もう盗んではいけません。かえって、困っている人に施しをするため、自分の手をもって正しい仕事をし、ほねおって働きなさい。

The [one] stealing, no longer let him steal; rather however let him toil, working with the own hands what [is] good, so that he may have [something] to impart to the [one] need having.

21）彼女は家の者のために雪を恐れない。家の者はみな、あわせの着物（緋の衣）を着ている。

She is not afraid of the snow for her household; For all her household are clothed with scarlet.

22）彼女は自分のための敷き物を作り、彼女の着物は亜麻布と紫色のより糸でできている。

She makes for herself carpets of tapestry. Her clothing is fine linen and purple.

黙示録19章/Revelation 19

８）花嫁は、光り輝く、きよい麻布の衣を着ることを許された。その麻布とは、聖徒たちの正しい行ないである。

And it was given to her that she should be clothed in fine linen, bright, pure.

14）天にある軍勢はまっ白な、きよい麻布を着て、白い馬に乗って彼（神のことば）につき従った。

And the armies who were in heaven were following Him (the Word of God) upon horses white, having been clothed in fine linen, white, pure.

23）夫は町囲みのうちで人々によく知られ、土地の長老たちとともに座に着く。

Her husband is respected in the gates, When he sits among the Zakenim of the land.

24）彼女は亜麻布の着物を作って、売り、帯を作って、商人（カナン人）に渡す。

She makes linen garments and sells them, And delivers sashes to the merchant.

25）彼女は力と気品を身につけ、ほほえみながら後の日(来るべき時）を待つ。

Strength and dignity are her clothing. She laughs at the time to come.

創世記49章１節/Genesis 49:1

ヤコブはその子らを呼び寄せて言った。「集まりなさい。私は終りの日に、あなたがたに起こるだろうことを告げよう。ー」

Ya'akov called to his sons, and said: "Gather yourselves together, that I may tell you that which will happen to you in the days to come.

マタイ24章/Matthew 24

37）人の子が来るのは、ちょうどノアの日のようだからです。

As [were] for the days of Noah, so will be the coming of the Son of Man.

38）洪水前の日々は、ノアが箱舟にはいるその日まで、人々は、飲んだり、食べたり、めとったり、とついだりしていました。

As for they were in the days those before the flood, eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until that day entered Noah into the ark.

She opens her mouth with wisdom. Faithful instruction is on her tongue.

27）彼女は家族の様子をよく見張り、怠惰のパンを食べない。

She looks well to the ways of her household, And doesn't eat the bread of idleness.

28）その子たちは立ち上がって、彼女を幸いな者と言い、夫も彼女をほめたたえて言う。

Her children rise up and call her blessed. Her husband also praises her.

29）「しっかりしたことをする女は多いけれど、あなたはそのすべてにまさっている。」と。

"Many women do noble things, But you excel them all."

30）麗しさはいつわり。美しさはむなしい。しかし、主を恐れる女はほめたたえられる。

Charm is deceitful, and beauty is vain; But a woman who fears the LORD, she shall be praised.

31）彼女の手でかせいだ実を彼女に与え、彼女のしたことを町囲みのうちでほめたたえよ。

Give her of the fruit of her hands! Let her works praise her in the gates!

イザヤ書３章10節/Isaiah 3:10

義人は幸いだと言え。彼らは、その行ないの実を食べる。

Tell the righteous "Good!" For they shall eat the fruit of their deeds.

３）私はまだ知恵も学ばず、聖なる方の知識も知らない。

I have not learned wisdom, Neither do I have the knowledge of the Holy One.

４）だれが天に上り、また降りて来ただろうか。（だれも天に上がった者はいません。しかし天から下った者はいます。すなわち〔天にいる〕人の子です。ヨハネ３章13節）

だれが風をたなごころに集めただろうか。だれが水を衣のうちに包んだだろうか。だれが地のすべての限界を堅く定めただろうか。その名は何か、その子の名は何か。あなたは確かに知っている。（その目は燃える炎であり、その頭には多くの王冠があって、ご自身のほかだれも知らない名が書かれていた。その方は血に染まった衣を着ていて、その名は「神のことば。」と呼ばれた。黙示録19章12－13節）

Who has ascended up into heaven, and descended? (And no one has gone up into heaven if not the [One] out of heaven having come down, the son of Man. Who is in heaven. ５）神のことばは、すべて純粋(完璧)。神は拠り頼む者の盾。

Every word of God is flawless. He is a shield to those who take refuge in him.

６）神のことばにつけ足しをしてはならない。神が、あなたを責めないように、あなたがまやかしの者とされないように。

Don't you add to his words, Lest he reprove you, and you be found a liar.

７）二つのことをあなたにお願いします。私が死なないうちに、それをかなえてください。

Two things I have asked of you; Don't deny me before die:

８）不信実と偽りとを私から遠ざけてください。貧しさも富みも私にあたえず、ただ、私に定められた分の食物で私を養ってください。（私たちの日ごとの糧をきょうもお与えください。マタイ６章11節）

Remove far from me falsehood and lies. Give me neither poverty nor riches. Feed me with the food that is needful for me;（The bread of us daily grant us today. Matthew 6:11)

９）私が食べ飽きて、あなたを否み、「主とはだれだ。」と言わないために。また、私が貧しくて、盗みをし、私の神の御名を汚すことのないために。

Lest I be full, deny you, and say, 'Who is the LORD?' or lest I be poor, and steal, And so dishonor the name of my God.

10）しもべのことを、その主人に中傷してはならない。そうでないと、彼はあなたをのろい、あなたを罰せられる。

Don't slander a servant to his master, Lest he curse you, and yoube held guilty.

箴言30章/Proverbs 30

11）自分の父をのろい、自分の母を祝福しない世代。

There is a generation that curses their father, And doesn't bless their mother.

12）自分を良いと見、汚れを洗わない世代。（パリサイ人は、立って、心の中でこんな祈りをした。『神よ。私はほかの人々のようにゆする者、不正な者、姦淫する者ではなく、ことにこの取税人のようでないことを、感謝します。ルカ18章11節）

There is a generation that is pure in their own eyes, Yet are not washed from their filthiness.（The Pharisee, having stood thus toward himself was praying, God, I thank You that not I am like the rest of the men seindlers, unrighteous, adulteres or even like this tax collector. Luke 18:11)

13）なんとも、その目が高く、まぶたが上がっている世代。

There is a generation, oh how lofty are their eyes! Their eyelids are lifted up.

14）歯が剣のようで、きばが刀のような世代。彼らは地の苦しむ者を、人のうちの貧しい者を食い尽くす。

There is a generation shose teeth are like swords, And their jaws like knives, To devour the poor from the eretz, and the needy from among men.

15）蛭にはふたりの娘がいて、「くれろ、くれろ。」と言う。飽くことを知らないものが、三つある。いや、四つあって、「もう十分だ。」と言わない。

The leach has two daughters: 'Give, Give.' "There are three things that are never satisfied; Four that don't say, 'Enough:'

16）よみと、不妊の胎、水に飽くことを知らない地と、「もう十分だ。」と言わない火。

She'ol, The barren womb; The eretz that is not satisfied with water; And the fire that doesn't say, 'Enough.'

17）自分の父をあざけり、母をさげすむ目は、谷の鳥にえぐりとられ、わしの子に食われる。（人の子の来るのは、いなずまが東から出て、西にひらめくように、ちょうどそのように来るのです。死体のある所には、はげたかが集まります。マタイ24章27－28節）

The eye that mocks at his father, And scorns obedience to his mother: The ravens of the Valley shall pick it out, The young eagles shall eat it. (Just as for the lighting comes forth from [the] east and shines as far as [the] west, so will be the coming of the Son of Man. For wherever if may be the carcass, there will be gathered the vultures. Matthew 24:27-28)

18）私にとって不思議なことが三つある。いや、四つあって、私はそれを知らない。

There are three things which are too amazing for me, Four which I don't understand:

19）天にあるわしの道、岩の上にある蛇の道、海の真中にある舟の道、おとめへの男の道。

The way of an eagle in the air, The way of a serpent on a rock; The way of a ship in the midst of the sea; And the way of a man with a maiden.

20）姦通する女の道もそのとおり。彼女は食べて口をぬぐい、「私は不法を行なわなかった。」と言う。

So is the way of an adulterous woman: She eats and wipes her mouth, And says, 'I have done nothing wrong.'

21）この地は三つのことによって震える。いや、四つのことによって耐えられない。

For three things the eretz tremble, And under four, it can't bear up:

22）奴隷が王となり、しれ者がパンを飽き、

For a servant when he is king; A fool when he is filled with food;

23）きらわれた女が夫を得、女奴隷が女主人の代わりとなることによって。

For an unloved woman when she is married; And a handmaid who is her mistress.

24）この地上には小さいものが四つある。しかし、それは知恵者中の知恵者だ。

There are four things which are little on the eretz, But they are exceedingly wise:

25）蟻は力のない種族だが、夏のうちに食料を確保する。

The ants are not a strong people, Yet they provide their food in the summer;

26）岩だぬきは強くない種族だが、その巣を岩間に設ける。

The conies are but a feeble folk, Yet make they their houses in the rocks;

27）いなごには王はないが、みな隊を組んで出て行く。

The locusts have no king, Yet they advance in ranks;

28）やもりは手でつかまえることができるが、王の宮殿にいる。

You can catch a lizard with your hands, Yet it is in kings' palaces.

29）歩きぶりの堂々としているものが三つある。いや、その歩みの堂々としているものが四つある。

There are three things which are stately in their march, Four which are stately in going.

30）獣のうちで最も強く、何ものからも退かない雄獅子、

The lion, which is mightiest among animals, And doesn't turn away for any;

31）いばって歩くおんどりと、雄やぎ、軍隊を率いる王である。

The greyhound, The male goat also; And the king against whom there is no rising up.

32）もし、あなたが高ぶって、愚かなことをしたり、たくらんだりしたら、手を口に当てよ。

If you have done foolishly in lifting up yourself, Or if you have thought evil, Put your hand over your mouth.

33）乳をかき回すと凝乳ができる。鼻をねじると血が出る。怒りをかき回すと争いが起こる。

For as the churning of milk brings forth butter, And the wringing of the nose brings forth blood; So the forcing of wrath brings forth strife."
