Sivan : And so that was really the starting point. And so, there was always like a little bit of humor and a little bit of tongue and cheek. And I, that's kind of where the lyric came from where I was like, 'I'll be like one of your girls or your homies'. Like it'll be chill. Like I'll just be like one of the girls or like you know, like your bro on the couch with you, making out with you, I don't know, like it would be fine. Um, and so then, but then, I think the moment where that song really like comes together for me, is when it's switch changes from 'Give me a call if you ever get lonely, I'll be like one of your girls', uh, to 'Give me a call if you ever get desperate, I'll be like one of your girls'.

Sivan : Because then all of a sudden, the humor is like sucked out of the room. And it reflects, I think, on um... the real life kind of like ramifications of how it feels sometimes, you know what I mean, and... how that situation or other situations like it, um... can feel and like you know, you throwing yourself at someone who maybe can't um... give you all that you know you want or that you deserve, and so, um... yeah, it was just like I was really really, proud of the song, and I just wanted to kind of capture all of it.

I have to try and like win this guy over, like it can't, that's why even I mean like even in the makeup and stuff like that, we tried to make sure that it wasn't too like drag queen like I didn't have big, you know, like drawn on brows or like a Trixie eyeline or something like that, you know. It was like um...it was like want to, you know, and so that was the goal.

Sivan : And then though I think you know towards the end of the video, you can kind of see the cracks in her and that like you know she's not, she's not real. Um... and so, yeah, it was a really really like special day, and again I think working with friends, working with, you know, by that time we had made 'Rush', we had made 'Got Me Started', now it's Gordon von Steiner, Stuart Winecoff, and myself in a studio in New York. It's like peaceful and quiet and we just got to like, you know, create together...

And um... that also I think allowed for just like a really fun free experience. But it's hilarious like him. I was again trying to make other people comfortable, but I'm like, "Okay, how am I going to make Ross super just like relaxed about this? I'm going to be his like bro".

Troye Sivan has announced details of a huge UK and European tour for 2024.
The tour is in support of Sivan’s acclaimed album ‘Something To Give Each Other’, which was released back in October. The record ? Sivan’s first in five years ? scored the Australian a glowing five-star review from Nick Levine for NME. Levine wrote: “It’s a strikingly vital pop album charged with love, lust, sweat and regret. You won’t need a bosh of poppers to feel thoroughly intoxicated.”
Hailed by The Guardian as "one of this year's best and most distinctive pop albums" and celebrated by Rolling Stone as "a pristine slice of pop heaven," the Something to Give Each Other Tour is destined to be Sivan 's biggest, boldest and brightest tour.
Sivan’s 17-date run will begin in Portugal on May 29, 2024, before continuing throughout Europe. Sivan arrives in the UK on June 22 at the Manchester AO Arena; the tour will conclude in Birmingham.Tickets for the shows go on sale on December 8 at 9am.

Sivan’s eight-minute, 17-second coming-out video is a rare thing, equal parts star power and vulnerable humanity. He had promised himself he would come out before signing a record deal, knowing it was the only way he could write music that would be completely honest. When pressed, he now says he briefly wondered if it might have lost him some young, infatuated female fans, but he “had no other choice.
