A marketing intern coming from France
はじめまして!My name’s Anne. I’ve been an intern at Smart Education from the 1st of July. I am French and will stay in Japan for 6 months. I am 20 years old and am doing this internship as part of my course at EM Lyon Business School.(I went to Sensouji temple!)I love Japanese culture and work hard to improve my Japanese skills. I first came to Japan with my family 5 years ago. I really fell in love with the country and was searching for an opportunity to come back. This is how I started to search an internship here. But there was still a long way to go before finding Smart Education, Ltd. from France! Actually, I fell on Smart Education, Ltd. while searching for Japanese start-ups. I wanted to work in a start-up for several reasons. I think start-ups are a great opportunity for young people to embrace a global vision of how a company works. The team is central in start-ups and I’ve liked team work since I did drama in highschool and conducted group projects in university. Start-ups are also fast-growing and therefore very challenging and dynamic. At the same time, I think their size offer great chances for students to do many different tasks.By searching for Japanese Start-ups, I rapidly fell on the promising Smart Education, Ltd. Its ambition to create great educational materials for children and its desire to expand in the world immediately appealed to me. It is indeed very important for me to have a goal in my work as meaningful as creating wonderful educational kids apps. After some skype interviews (often interrupted by internet connection issues!) I was very happy to see my application accepted. So now that I am here, what do I do? In fact, I never have time to get bored! I am working on the Gocco brand, performing various tasks. On a daily basis, I manage the Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest and Instagram accounts of Gocco, and pick the best drawings for Gocco Doodle. Weekly, I put my 10 years of piano playing to good use by checking scores of こどもモード music apps. I also worked on a new Price Strategy, on the promotion plan for the forthcoming app, on a new cross-promotion tool, I wrote a new Privacy Policy, updated a list of potential reviewers, translated descriptions of apps into French, carried out research on the Kid apps market…The variety and interest of my tasks are beyond my expectations. I enjoy greatly the friendly atmosphere coupled with the great passion and commitment issuing from the people working here. As a first corporate experience for a young student, I find it very inspiring!
