coffee, java, joe.....

my wife and i both like hazelnut flavored coffee ever since we had in the us. you can get many kinds of flavored coffee beans like hazelnut, vanilla, amaretto... just to name a few at super markets in the us. i wonder why we don't have such in japan but we found one at a wholesale store.

米国時代に飲んで以来、奥さんと自分は共にヘーゼルナッツ風味のコーヒーが好き。米国ではスーパーやなんかで色んな風味、例えばヘーゼルナッツ、バニラ、アマレトなどなど、といったコーヒー豆を買うことができます。日本にはないのが気になっていたんですが、卸のお店で発見。

of course, beans are not ground and here comes the coffee bean grinder!!

勿論、豆は挽いてません。というわけでグラインダーの登場!!

speaking of coffee, my partner, jf, and i had played at cafes in stl about a decade ago (a decade ago!!) sometimes we were accompanied by trampet player. yes, djs and live musician.

コーヒーと言えば、10年ほど前（10年前!!）、パートナーだったjfとstlにある色んなカフェでプレイしてたな～。時にはトランペット奏者が加わったりして。そう、djとライブ・ミュージシャンです。

at that time, "acid jazz" and "downtempo" got people's attention.....

lost in translation.....

i stayed home all day today to help translating some english documents into japanese. it's kinda same as what i have done at work.. but i don't hate it. besides, i can learn english which is good.

今日は一日中家にこもって英文書類の翻訳のお手伝い。これまで仕事でやってきたことと、ある意味似ているような・・・。でも、嫌いじゃないんですよね。しかも、英語の勉強になるわけで、これまた良いことです。

we (my wife and i) heard that our mutual friend in san fran has passed away about two weeks ago because of cancer. when i heard about that, i simply could not believe it as i me him in san fran about one and a half months ago on my business trip. it's been about 8 years since we saw each other last time. he looked just fine except that he lost some weights.

サンフランシスコにいるうちら（奥さんと自分）の友人がガンのため、2週間ほど前になくなったという話を聞きました。その話を聞いた時は、ただ単純に信じることができなかった。というのも、1ヵ月半ほど前に出張でサンフランシスコに行った時に会っていたから。現地で最後に会ったのは8年ほど前だったんですが、会った時は若干痩せた感じがあったことを除いては、元気そうでした。

in fact, he said he went to play golf three times a week. so, i still cannot believe it or may be i cannot just admit the fact which suddenly came up to us.....

実際、彼は週に3回ゴルフをやっていると話してました。そんなわけで、未だに信じられない。ないしは、ただ単純に自分達の前に突然出てきた事実を受け入れられないだけなのかもしれません。

he was a great chef with generous heart and he was always laid back. he told me how to make sushi and i still kinda remember this. we drank together and we had a party together. he called us every new year's day ever since we came back to japan and we talked for long time like more than an hour. i was always surprised by the fact that he new a lot of what't going on in japan. i have a lot of good memories and so does my wife.

彼は優しい心を持った最高の板前さんで、いつものんびりとしていました。寿司の握り方を教えてもらったこともありますし、今でもかすかに覚えています。一緒にお酒を飲んだし、パーティーもしました。そして、うちらが日本に帰ってきてからは、毎年、元日に電話をかけてくれ、毎回1時間以上も話してました。いつも、日本で何が起こっているのか、色んな事を知っていて、いつも驚かされていました。

when he took me to the airport in san fran, he said that i should have come back to san fran with my wife on vacation as we could spend much time together. however, we cannot do this forever.....

サンフランシスコの空港まで送ってもらった時、バケーションで二人で来なさいよと言ってくれました。そうしたら、一緒に過ごす時間も多く取れるから。でも、もう永遠にできないんです。

it's too early, tstm-san. it's too early!! i wanted three of us to get together and have some drinks. but, but, although my wife is in kagoshima for business trip, i will drink tonight and my wife will drink tonight too, so that we can finally drink together.

早すぎるよ。早すぎますよ!! 三人で会って、また一緒に飲みたかったです。ですがですが、奥さんは今、出張で鹿児島に行ってますが、僕も奥さんも今晩は飲みます。というわけで、やっと一緒に飲めるというわけですかね。

i went out for shopping with my wife today. i think it's been really a while we spent the whole day together. anyway, it was a nice day to go out. i wonder what everyone is doing.....

hell of a week!!

to train staffs for replacing my position, i had been in tokyo this whole week. everyone in tokyo office was like a workerholic!! it's like being at work so late at night is simply a good thing. anyway, the training was over and so is my work for the company.

業務引継ぎのため、今週1週間東京にいました。それで、東京オフィスにいたスタッフですが、これがワーカー・ホリックな人たちで。遅くまで仕事場にいるということが単純に良いことだといった感じの・・・。まぁ、引継ぎも終わりまして、これで僕のこの会社での仕事も無事に終了したわけです。

i am at the loung in haneda airport. due to the heavy rain like a storm, almost all the flights are delayed and so is my flight.

今は羽田空港のラウンジにいるんですが、嵐のような天候のためにほぼ全てのフライトが遅れ、勿論自分のフライトも遅れている状態です・・・。

the picture below is my finger after 5 months of brace (twice though). this time, the doctor did nothing as rehab like the other doctor did in the first place 3 months ago, which ended up being back to bent finger..... anyway, let's see what happens.

yesterday was supposed to be my last day to go to work but the last day was postponed to a week later as i have to go to tokyo to train staffs for my replacement.
