the year 2006 will end in a couple of hours. this year is the turning point which i made it so by myself. in all and all, i would like to say thank you very much as i lived through the year. hope the next year will be magnificent and full of happiness!!
after seeing about 8 estimates from movers through the internet estimate site, and 2 actual estimates done by sales persons who came over to our house, we have decided one mover. price was half of what i imagined at the first time but since we gave up many things to bring, the price was somewhat same as my expectation.
we talked about what to bring at the last minute but now we were relieved from distressing matter. from now on, we just have to put things in the boxes. one thing we have to be careful is that we have to stay under or equal to the estimated amount..., well, that's no problem, right??
we had sushis and some other foods at a place in tsukiji on saturday night (dec. 23). members were my wife, my wife's company president, manager, advertising model (guess who) and me. we hit several places but since it was saturday night, many places were already packed but luckily we found one place. i had a good time talking with them, and of course, sushis and other foods were delicious!! i just wonder how much it cost for the total..... well, that's nonesence o ask. thank you so much, i really enjoyed the meal!!

i guess they got a lot to talk about.....

on sunday, we went to shibuya as my wife had to buy some stuff at lululemon but at first, we stopped by at the tsukiji-honganji. it's not like ordinary temple i have seen. in fact, this is the first time to see such a unique temple. i see it more like westernized architecture. this is a "must see" temple!!
this is the tsukiji-honganji (temple). out of focus due to the back light.....

why are you there??
なぜ、そこにいるの??
then, we headed for shibuya. we got off the train at ebisu station and decided to walk to shibuya. there's a sushi place right across the street from ebisu station (i forgot the name). there, they serve lunch menu for 1,000 yen or less, and they were really amazingly delicious!! you should try at lunch time.
七福神の一人・・・、恵比寿様
bennet, i knew there would be those stickers on the street!!
ベネット、やっぱりストリートにはこれらのステッカーがありました!!
after the shopping, we went back to the hotel, picked up our suitcase and headed for haneda airport. there, we chilled at the lounge for a little while and came back to where we live.
we are in tokyo to look for an apartment. at first, we planned to bring our car and all of our belongings including all furniture and antique stuff but since i am now unemployed, so we had to change our plan.....
this is the view of somewhere in japan from the sky. i have no idea where it is..... japan has to be so small country but seems so far away in some consideration.
this is the pic i took when we got back to the hotel we're staying in tsukiji from apartment search. can you believe the pic!? this is tsukiji honganji (traditional temple), all wrapped up with pink light and motorola logos!! there was motorola cell phone new release party held there, and that was why the temple was lit up with such an unusual color. everyone stopped by and took pics.
we again checked for apartments on the internet. we found a couple of desent apartments, and we went to the realtors; however, the first realtor was closed..... so, we went to the second one but when we saw the pics of the apartment, we were like kinda down. then we went to another realtor.
finally, we found one!! it's in pretty convenient place although rooms are very small as compare to where we live now. well, considering the facts that i am unemployed now and there's not time left for finding apartment, we decided to rent the apartment. since the rooms are so small, we have to give up about 60 of our belongings, including our car..... it was so hard to find apartment in tokyo as we have our kitty kitty. cats scrach walls and pillars, and that's why.
i bought them years ago but for some reason, i haven't worn them. and today, i grabbed them to wear. actually, they were quite comfy. i tend to have shoes+sneakers for so many years as i don't walk much; therefore, they get very slowly being worn out. however, i may need to walk a lot in the new town, so i kinda worry about them being worn out.
we'll go to find apartment from tomorrow. it's been really a long while since me and my wife being aboard, so it's kinda fun, and i look forward to go there!! definitely hoping to find perfect one!!!
i went to cut my hair. i'm not sure if i told you people that my wife has cut my hair for the last six or so years. so, it's been more than six years to cut my hair at the salone since the last time!! thanks a lot, oishi-san!!
i've seen the scenery of the pic below so many times as this is the street on my way back home from where i used to work and from where my wife is working. however, the number of times we will see it is limited for good cause..... so, i try to remember as many sceneries as possible whenever i go out.
my parents were supposed to visit where i live but due to the fog, most of the flights have been canceled so far. they are still waiting for the next flight but it seems like the flight will also be canceled..... they are coming here as a package tour, and they have been stuck in the airport for more than seven hours. i think at some point, their tour conductor had to arrange alternatives with travel agent.....
we have been looking for an apartment, and in my case, i have also been looking for a job, both in tokyo. i realized how expensive to rent an apartment in tokyo. all i see is tiny rooms with ridiculously expensive rent. but we have to admit that it is a fact in tokyo. hope we can find them!!
i think we can do it as they are doing some cheerleading for me!!
大丈夫でしょう。だって、彼女達も応援してくれてますから!!
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
we went to eat at a small restaurant my wife wanted to go. i ordered savory pancake ("okonomi-yaki" in japanese), and my wife ordered fried chinese noodles: both of them were humongous!! it's like medium size pizza. the reastaurant is run by an old lady, and she kept talking us like we were regulars at the restaurant, she must have confused with someone else. she even told us to park right in front of the restaurant when we told her we parked at coin parking.
anyway, food was good!! we even got two mandarin oranges for free. thank you very much!!
rich dad, poor dad: my friend gave this to me long time ago but never had a chance read as i'm such a slow reader. well, i haven't read yet, i am thinking about reading now.
my wife got back home from business trip with goodies. thank you som much shh-san!! also, thank you very much for your + your husdand's hospitality while she stayed at your place.
