ハワイ77日目 My 77th day in Hawaii
Aloha I’m Natsumi.
We went to K1 Speed (indoor gokart) per guest's request today.
今日はゲストのリクエストでゴーカートをやりました。
I also participated in the race.
ついでに私も参加させて頂きました。
Even though I have a driver's license I hardly drive.
So I could not help but worry because I had never done an indoor gokart but
I gradually got used to it and I enjoyed very much in the end.
ペーパードライバーの上に、
ゴーカートなんてやったことがないので不安で仕方なかったですが、
だんだんと慣れてきて最後はとても楽しかったです。
Frankie had a gokart school, so
He taught me various things.
フランキーさんはゴーカートのスクールを開いていたこともあって、
色んな事を教えてくれました。
Thanks to that,
The best lap is 21.683!
そのおかげもあって、
ベストラップは21.683！
I think that I did good for a beginner. LOL
初めてにしては上出来だったと思います（笑）
I also thank the guest, Chiemi and Frankie who taught me new fun thing to do.

ハワイ76日目 My 76th day in Hawaii
Aloha I’m Natsumi.
After Bon Dance was over, it was past midnight when we came back last night.
盆ダンスが終わり、昨晩帰ってきたら12時を過ぎていました。
I thought that I could take a good rest today, but it is quite noisy outside when I was taking a nap.
今日はゆっくり休めると思い昼寝をしていたらなんだか外が騒がしい…。
A lot of guests came when I came out of the room.
部屋の外に出てみるとたくさんのゲストの方が来ていました。
I greeted them without knowing what was going on, offered tea/coffee and played with the children who came.
何が起きているのか分からずに挨拶をし、お茶やコーヒーをお出しし、子供達と遊びました。
It is common for guests to visit us suddenly unnoticed and they just go somewhere without being told about the schedule ahead of time. LOL
ここでは予定を知らされずに急にゲストが来たり、どこかに行ったりすることがよくあります。（笑）
Plan is only a suggestion, Chiemi often says.
予定は未定とちえみさんはよく言います。
I believe that every incident is a drill that trains your flexibility.
どんな出来事も臨機応変に対応する訓練なんだと思っています。
I played tennis and soccer with the children who came.
来ていた子供達とテニスやサッカーをして遊びました。
It's fun to play with kids and I even forget to be tired.
子供と遊ぶのは楽しくて疲れさえ忘れてしまう程です。
It seems to me that children have power to make people energized.
子供には人を元気にさせるパワーがあるのではないかと思わされます。
I like children very much and I can always play with them; is it because I am a child? LOL
私はとっても子供が好きで、いつでも子供と遊ぶことが出来るのですが、それは自分が子供だからでしょうか？（笑）
When I was young I like to cook, I like to do something fun, I was selfish and
always stayed besides my mother, I called myself as Boku (I for young male),
I hated wearing a skirt. I was a strange child.
私の幼い頃は料理を作るのが好きで面白い事をするのが好きでわがままで甘えたがりで、
自分の事を僕と呼び、スカートを履くのが嫌いで、ちょっと変わった子でした。
I am still a child who likes cooking and likes fun things and loves taking a nap. LOL
今も料理が好きで面白いことが好きで昼寝が大好きなお子ちゃまです。（笑）
I am very grateful to those who accept me.
そんな私を受け入れてくれる人々にとても感謝しています。

ハワイ75日目 My 75th day in Hawaii
Aloha I’m Natsumi.
Today is Palolo Hongwanji bon dance 2nd day.
今日はパロロ本願寺盆ダンス2日目です。
We spent the night at Palolo Hongwanji.
昨日の夜からパロロ本願寺に泊まり込んでいました。
I ate breakfast at KCC 's farmers market in the morning.
朝はKCCのファーマーズマーケットで朝ごはんを食べました。
I ate garlic sweet shrimp plate.
私は甘エビのガーリックプレートを食べました。
Chiemi makes better garlic shrimp.
ちえみさんの作るガーリックシュリンプの方が美味しい…。
I understand why Chiemi and Frankie do not eat out much. LOL
ちえみさんとフランキーさんが外食をあまりしない理由が分かりました。（笑）
I knew the cooking procedure on the first day so I could finish the second day comfortably.
1日目に料理の手順が分かってるので2日目は楽に終えることが出来ました。
It was truly an enjoyable bon dance.
ほんとうに楽しい盆ダンスでした。

Aloha I’m Natsumi.
Today was Palolo Hongwanji Bon dance 1st day.
今日はパロロ本願寺盆ダンス1日目でした。
This time, I will help Frankie's booth, but Chiemi is helping Palolo Hongwanji food booth,
Frankie, Chiemi’s two friends and I tried our best.
今回、私はフランキーさんのブースを手伝うのですが、ちえみさんはパロロ本願寺のブースを手伝う事になっていて、
私とフランキーさんとちえみさんのお友達お2人と4人で頑張りました。
I still can not completely understand what Frankie says.
私はまだフランキーさんの言うことを完全に理解できません。
So I was very anxious,
なのでとても不安でしたが、
Chiemi's friends were very helpful in interpreting.
ちえみさんのお友達が通訳して下さってとても助かりました。
On my spare time I did a bon dance with my friends who I met in Hawaii.
時間がある時にはハワイで知り合ったお友達と盆ダンスをしました。
I was busy and tired but it was a very enjoyable first bon dance day!
忙しく疲れましたが、とっても楽しい盆ダンス1日目でした！
I appreciate being able to have a valuable experience in Hawaii.
ハワイで貴重な体験をできることに感謝します。

Aloha I’m Natsumi.
Today was the preparation day for Bon dance at Palolo Hongwanji.
今日はパロロ本願寺の盆ダンスの準備でした。
Finally tomorrow is the Bon dance.
いよいよ明日は盆ダンスです。
Frankie will sell pizza, sandwiches, grilled corn, etc.
盆ダンスではフランキーさんがピザやサンドイッチ、グリルコーンなどを売ります。
I have a big responsibility in baking pizza and boiling corn.
私はピザを焼いたり、コーンを茹でたりする係りで責任重大です。
Although I am anxious, I feel good that he can trust me.
不安もありますが、手伝いを任せてくれるという事はそれだけ信用されているという事なので、嬉しくもあります。
I will do my best to meet his expectations.
期待に応えられるよう、頑張ります。

ハワイ72日目 My 72nd day in Hawaii
Aloha I’m Natsumi.
A new guest came today.
今日は新しいゲストが来ました。
People who stay here are older than me so far,
this time is a 12 year old boy.
今まで私より年上の人達がゲストに来ることが多かったですが、
今回は12歳の男の子です。
I have no younger brother, but I feel like I gained a younger brother.
私には弟はいませんが、弟が出来たような感覚です。
Chiemi san and Frankie feel that more they have more family members.
ちえみさんやフランキーさんも家族が増えたような感覚なのだと思います。
Various people came and I think that attitude of Chiemi and Frankie who cherish the connection and
follow up afterwards is very wonderful.
色んな人が来てくださって、その後も繋がりや交流を大切にするちえみさんやフランキーさんの
ゲストに対する姿勢はとても素晴らしいと思います。
I like the relationships between customers and hosts which does not end at the end of their stays.
単にお客様とホストという関係で終わらない、御縁を大切にする所が私は好きです。
I think that is the goodness of homestays.
そこがホームステイの良さなのだと思います。
I get to understand when Chiemi said there's a delicate lines between guests and being their friends.
ちえみさんが言うお客様と友達の線引きというのも、何となく分かってきたような気がします。
It is fun to talk with various guests.
色んな人と話すのは楽しいです。
I thought that I also had to increase my knowledge to make fun stories.
そして自分もまた楽しいお話を出来るような知識を増やさなければならないと思いました。

ハワイ71日目 My 71st day in Hawaii
Aloha I’m Natsumi.
I posted the photoes on Facebook before.
私はこの前に1つの写真をFacebookに載せました。
Captioned "Do not eat !!" LOL
Don’t eat!!(食べないで～！)という言葉を添えて。（笑）
Then I got 60 likes on Facebook.
するとFacebookのいいねが60までされたんです。
Even I write blogs everyday I can not get that much likes. LOL
私が毎日ブログを書いてもそんなにいいねされません（笑）
I thought people hit like buttons to interesting posts ...!
いいねされるのは面白いものなんだ…！と思いました。
Funny things are easy to spread to everyone.
面白いことはみんなに伝わりやすい。
I learned one thing.
私は一つ学びました。
Such intention is hidden in the we had watermelon eating contest of the party before this and the Ninin-baori
(two people, one puts the arms around the other from behind and covered so that he/she cannot see. Then he/she acts as the others arms).
この前のパーティのスイカの早食いや二人羽織もそういう意図が隠されています。
Recently I also am posting interesting images on the blog.
最近私がブログに面白い画像を載せるのもその理由です。
I like pleasing people and doing interesting things.
私は人に喜んでもらったり、面白いことをするのが好きです。
I began to think recently that it is okay to be myself.
もっと素の自分を出していけばいいんだと最近思う様になりました。
I came to Hawaii and met various people and I was able to realize various things.
ハワイに来て色んな人と出会ったおかけで色んな事に気づくことが出来ました。
I feel that I am laughing more than when I came to Hawaii first.
今はハワイに来た当初よりも笑えている気がします。
I would like to create a world like Casa Della Dolce Vita in Wakayama.

の様な世界を創っていきたいです。

ハワイ70日目 My 70th day in Hawaii
Aloha I’m Natsumi.
Today I slept almost all day due to menstrual pain(PMS). LOL
今日は生理痛でほぼ1日寝ていました（笑）
Of course, I did my daily routine.
もちろん、日々の日課はこなします。
I usually take medicine for pain relief, but I did not take it today and stayed still in bed.
いつもは痛み止めの薬を飲んで生活していますが、今日は飲まずにじっとベッドの中で過ごしていました。
Chiemi says that the pain is a sign from the body.
自分の体の痛みは体からのサインだとちえみさんはいいます。
I thought that PMS is only an nuisance until now.
今まで生理痛は邪魔なものでしかないと思っていました。
PMS varies from day to day, there are also individual differences. If it's too severe you might vomit and
not being able to get up.
生理痛は日によって様々で、個人差もあり、酷い場合は吐いたり、立ち上がれない時もあります。
However, there are no women who are absent from school due to PMS, and no one is absent from work.
しかし生理痛で学校を休む人はいませんし、仕事を休む人もいません。
I think that most Japanese people take pain killers and keep on going their daily lives.
殆どの日本人の人は痛み止めを飲み、日常生活を保っていると思います。
I was one of them.
私もその1人でした。
Therefore, I had no idea to change diet for menstruation or keep the stomach warm for PMS.
そのため、生理の為に食生活を整えたり、生理痛の為にお腹を温めたりするという考えがありませんでした。
I thought it was natural to take medicine when PMS happens.
生理痛が起きたら薬を飲むというのが当たり前だと思っていたのです。
Another thing was cloth napkins that gave me a chance to face my menstruation.
もうひとつ、自分が生理と向き合うきっかけを作ってくれたのは布ナプキンでした。
Chiemi taught me when I did a homestay here a year ago.
一年前ここにホームステイした時にちえみさんに教えてもらいました。
I am trying the cloth napkins in Hawaii since I came back here to Hawaii!
ここに再び来ることになった時、布ナプキンにハワイで挑戦してみよう！と思い、今挑戦中です。
Except for washing the napkins by hand, I don't have to worry about going to the store
to buy paper napkins.
As of now it has no side leaks and it is very comfortable.
自分でナプキンを手洗いすること以外はいい事ばかりで、ナプキンを買いに行かなきゃ！という心配もありません。
今のところ横漏れなどもなく、とっても快適です。
Hand washing the napkins will inevitably make the time to face the menstruation.
ナプキンを手洗いすると、生理と向き合う時間が必然的に出来ます。
How was today's PMS, how was my diet,
what day it started, etc.
The time to face the sign of my body increased.
今日の生理痛はどうだっただろう、食生活はどうだっただろう、
何日目に来たのだろうと、自分の体のサインに向き合う時間が増えました。
I thought that was a very good thing.
それがとてもいいことだと思いました。
Why don't you try making time to face yourself?

ハワイ69日目 My 69th day in Hawaii
Aloha I’m Natsumi.
Leo and my birthday party was today!
今日はレオと私の誕生日パーティでした！
Many people came to my party!
たくさんの方が来てくれました！
I was just happy the fact that people came, but they gave birthday gifts and birthday cards to me!
来てくれるだけでも嬉しいのに
プレゼントやメッセージカードを頂きました。
Even the people I met for the first time prepared the gifts for me.
初めてお会いした方もプレゼントを用意して下さって
Then A friend made the cake imagining me !
それから私をイメージして作って下さったケーキを持ってきてくれたり！
I was so happy.
本当に嬉しかったです。
Thanks to those who came to the party, those who could not come, and those who
are reading this post now.
来てくれた人も、来れなかった人も、このブログを読んでくれている人にも、感謝します。
I am grateful for both my body and my heart that can feel happiness.
幸せだと感じることが出来る体も心にも感謝します。
I also thank my parents who gave birth to me.
私をこの世に産んでくれた親にも感謝します。
And above all, I thank Frankie and Chiemi.

There is a very famous Japanese comedian who does the skit of eating watermelon fast.
スイカの早食いは有名な日本のコメディアンがコントでしていたものです。

Although it was very popular when I was a child, now that the comedian is old and
the good old comedy routines are also disappearing.
私が子供の頃に流行っていましたが、今はそのコメディアンは高齢となり、昔のお笑いの文化も消えつつあります。
I loved the comedian.
私はそのコメディアンが大好きでした。
I always thought that I would like to eat watermelons quickly. But I also love watermelons,
so I wanted to take my time enjoying the watermelons.
スイカを早食いをしてみたいとずっと思っていましたが、スイカもまた大好きなので、
いつも味わって食べていました。
Everyone participated in it and it was a fun party.
みんな快く参加して下さって本当に楽しいパーティになりました。
It is very happy being able to live with laughter.
笑って暮らせるのはとても幸せな事ですね。

ハワイ68日目 My 68th day in Hawaii
Aloha I’m Natsumi.
Today something happy has happened to me.
今日は嬉しいことがありました。
My classical Japanese dance teacher contacted me.
私が日本舞踊を習っている先生から連絡がありました。
My teacher told her master about me and the master watched my facebook video of my Japanese dance.
先生が家元の先生に私のことをお話してFacebookの日本舞踊の動画を見ていただそうで、
The master said I was dancing well.
The master told my teacher to tell me to get Nishikawa's name! (meaning getting properly installed to
preserve the Nishikawa dance style. )
しっかり踊れている、是非ともお名取になって活動してほしい。
という返事を下さりました!
There are many styles of classical Japanese dances, and I am learning from Nishikawa style.
Natori is to be given a name with Nishikawa last name by the Nishikawa master so that I can use the name to
perform as Nishikawa dancer.
日本舞踊には流派があり、私は西川流という流派の先生から日本舞踊を習っています。
ナトリとは名前を頂くという事で、先生から西川～という名前を付けてもらい、その名前で活動することが出来るものです。
I think that one of my dreams has come one step closer, as I want to spread the goodness of Japanese classical dance to the world and I have a support from my teachers.
日本舞踊もまだペーペーな私が、日本舞踊の良さを世界に伝えたいという夢に賛同して下さり、
また一歩夢が実現に近づいた様に思います。
Ever since I was a child, I looked up to the teachers and the idea of getting the name.
私は幼い頃から名取や師範という存在に憧れていました。
However, I had to stop due to the financial matter when I was in 6th grade and I gave up on the idea of getting the name.
しかし、金銭面の関係で小学校6年生の時やめざるを得ず、もう名取りは無理なんだとずっと心の中で思っていました。
But new idea came to me when the teacher asked me to get a name; maybe it's not impossible?
しかし先生の方から名取を取ってほしいと言われた時、私でも名取がとれるんじゃないか？という考えが新たに生まれたのです。
However, taking classical Japanese dance lessons cost a lot of money.
しかし、日本舞踊というのはお金がとてもかかる習い事です。
It is said that it costs couple of million yen (about $ 20,000 US) to get a name.
名取を取るにもお金は何百万とかかるのだとか…。
Of course I have no such money. LOL
もちろん私にはそんなお金はありません。（笑）
I think this is the reason why it's difficult to learn Classical Japanese dances.
そこが、日本舞踊を継続的にできないところだと思います。
Even though I truly love the classical Japanese dance
I can not keep on learning the classical Japanese dance because I don't have money.
本当に日本舞踊が好きでやりたくてもお金がないと続けられない。
My family was very cold when I was learning classical Japanese dance as a youngster.
私が幼い頃日本舞踊を習っていた時も家族の目は冷ややかでした。
I remember my family kept saying to me that it is better to stop taking lessons
because it costs so much money.
そんなお金がかかる習い事はやめた方がいいと言われ続けた事を今までも覚えています。
I hope that I can provide the easy access to learning the classical Japanese dance to the
ordinally public.
もっと気軽に続けられる日本舞踊であって欲しいと切に願います。
