この参考書を指定してるのは、三級以降は長文読解が必須になってくるので、単語帳と長文がセットのこの参考書が都合が良いからです。多くの学生が「長文は単語や文法を覚えてからやる」（大学受験を控えてる高校生や浪人生でもこれをいうアホがいますので要注意）と言いますが、それだと試験一週間前になってやる子が続出し、手遅れになります。ですから、日頃から長文読解を心がける意味でも、三級から長文読解を苦にしない習慣を身につけましょう。
