Reminds me of something like the Teishoku I used to have back when I was working in Akasaka. The size is big enough with Korokke and Age-Shumai together is like what the Salary men would love. It was like the 1000yen lunch, I loved it!

1st Anniversary...but only a part of it

Let's say it's typical of girlfriends and wives throwing question to their partners like, "do you know what day it is, today?". If you hadn't had the answer for it, then you're in trouble. But it was Tom who asked me last Sunday morning the question thinking Sunday was 1st December and which I had corrected our anniversary is not today. Okay so it's even. However it was sweet enough he had reserved a table at the restaurant where we first went together with T and P on the day of my arrival in Zurich. Things had changed. I contemplated how I had felt and saw one year ago and who would have thought that I would be in Zurich a year later? I'm a person who makes action by impulse, and I sometimes regret on the shoes or clothes I bought. But weighing what is better, regretting not doing it or after doing it, I would rather go for the latter.

...but this one, no regrets and proved to be the best case.

L-Permits, B-Permits...whatever

One thing my classmates and myself like to talk about is about what kind of visas and permits you have, and how you got them.

Couple of days ago I received a letter from the Zollikon Gemeinde (sort of like Kuyakusho) that I had my L-Permit issued, so I should go and fetch it. I have arrived in Switzerland and applied for my permit back 25th July, and it took me 4 months to have an official document which cost extra 100 bucks for it. But my permit is going to expire 24th January meaning I've only got 2 months left. 6 months permit and takes 4 months to issue it. Totally stupid to me, if I may say.

R, one of my classmates from Argentina has also a 6-months permit and hers expires at the very beginning of January so not much left for her either. But the funny thing is that she was told by Migrationsamt (where the actual permits are issued) that she needs to go back to Argentina to apply for it if she wishes to stay longer. However, the lady whom Tom talked at Migrationsamt said that I don't have to, and that I just need to go to Gemeinde to reapply for it.

First of all, people there never speak the same language. Despite the fact that I rely on those issues to Tom (!), I see he had gone through some frustrations dealing with those people but took such an effort to get a consolidated answers from them.

Secondly, for a German beginner like me, 6 months of studying a new language is definitely too short. I mean, I'm so far, up to learning past tenses, what on earth would I accomplish within the next two months? I definitely need to extension!

Anyways, so I do hope that R goes back to Migrationsamt and try again with some other ladies there and she might be lucky she doesn't have to go through the same process as she did the first time. As for me, I hope that the people in Gemeinde won't turn round and tell me I can't extend it, or that I have to go back to Japan if I want to reapply for it (that's a nightmare)...you never know. So I have to go back there asap to clear that out!
