There are more than 200 dialects spoken in Africa, but most of
them have no word for "cancer", and this despite the fact the
disease kills more people worldwide than AIDS, tuberculosis and
malaria together, and the burden is particularly acute in the
developing world.
Cervical cancer is the second most common cancer among women here,
exacerbated by the lack of reproductive health information for
women and delayed access to treatment in rural areas.

子宮頸がんはヒトパピローマウィルス(HPV)によるものとの認識は、ワク
チン接種の是非で認知度が高まりました。国内でもワクチン接種する自
治体もあれば何もしないところもあり、温度差はまだあります。
疫病予防には教育と衛生の徹底なのですが、アフリカどころか日本でも
徹底されていない事実は遺憾な限りです。

A Japanese supercomputer built by Fujitsu Co. grabbed the title
of world's best-performing machine from a Chinese competitor,
returning Japan to the top of the computer arms race for the first
time in seven years.
Installed at Japan's Institute of Physical and Chemical Research
and also known as Riken, the Japanese government-funded "K Computer"
performs more than eight quadrillion (8,000 trillion) calculations
per second. K Computer is a play on the Japanese word "kei" for
the number 10 quadrillion, which will be the number of calculations
the machine is targeted to handle once it is completed in 2012.

事業仕訳で二位じゃダメなのかといわれ奮起したのでしょうか。
スパコン技術は実用よりもむしろ科学技術力の優位性をアピールしたも
のと受止めています。
2位の中国製は中国人民解放軍国防科学技術大学にあるようです。この場
所をみても、中国が何をたくらんでいるかわかるようなもの。

この住民投票は、割礼が男性器切断に等しいとする人権団体(?)が起こし
たもの。18歳未満の男子に適用しようとするものです。
割礼は宗教的儀式の意味と、性病感染から護る意味もあるようです。
またこの投票では反ユダヤにも争点が飛び火しているようです。
ユダヤバッシングのために割礼が導火線で使われた、のかも。
