The novel revolves around the quest of fictional Harvard symbologist Robert Langdon to unravel the mysteries of a secret society called the Illuminati, and preclude a plot from annihilating the Vatican City using destructive antimatter. The story recounts the conflict between science and religion that brought the establishment of the Illuminati, and, after centuries of non-existence, the group is thought to have resurfaced for retribution against the Roman Catholic Church.

President Barack Obama on Monday issued a blistering attack on American International Group and pledged to stop the struggling insurance and investment giant from paying out millions in executive bonuses.

"I write to ask why any bonuses would be legally required, given the company's abysmal performance," says Feingold, D-Wisconsin.
"There are a lot of terrible things that have happened in the last 18 months, but what's happened at AIG is the most outrageous," Lawrence Summers, head of the National Economic Council, told ABC's "This Week."
"What that company did, the way it was not regulated, the way no one was watching, what's proved necessary, it is outrageous."

The space shuttle Discovery lifted off Sunday on a trip to the international space station, after more than a month of delay caused by concerns about its fuel system.
The start of Discovery's 13-day construction mission came after launch-pad repairs took care of a potentially dangerous leak in a hydrogen-gas vent line connected to the shuttle's external fuel tank. NASA managers said they saw no problems during Sunday's countdown.
