“文化の違い、それとも”
昨日の土曜、友人２名の誕生日を祝うべく、仲間うちの約１０名でパーティをした。
一人は同い年の日本人で、来月からフィジーへ語学留学する予定である。
もう一人は３０歳のカナダ人で、ワーキングホリデーにて来日し、数か月が経過したところである。
集まったメンバーは、いずれも通学している英会話スクールを通じて知り合った。
そういった背景もあり、英語日本語学習や過去の留学体験談、それぞれのお国柄などがいつも話題になる。
二次会で、新たに３名のカナダ人が合流した。
１名は、同スクールの講師で旧知の友人であり、他の２名はその友人である。
観光に訪れ、次の水曜日にカナダへ戻るとのことだった。
こうした場は、私にとって「一人一人異なる」という当たり前のことを実感できる場である。
不思議なもので、国籍が色々のメンバーの中に入ると、我々日本人一人一人の個性も際立つように感じられるのである。
しかしながら、慣れてしまったせいか、最近はなかなか驚くようなことを発見しなくなっていたのだが、昨日は別だった。
それは、三次会のカラオケに移行するときのことだった。
件の観光者２名が行動を別にしてしまったのである。
１名はそのガイド役とともに彼の家に帰り、もう１名は我々と一緒にカラオケに行くという。
なんでも、
帰宅した方は、「明日以降も朝から色んな場所を観光したい」
残った方は、「俺はもう観光はいいや」
と互いの意思を尊重し合った結果であり、明日以降は帰路に付く日まで別行動をすることにしたのだとか。
私も個人行動を好む方であるが、流石に観光旅行という状況で、残した３日間を同行した友人と別に行動するというのは選択枝に無い。
これは文化の違いなのか、それとも彼ら固有のものなのか。
久しぶりに面食らった。
We had a birthday party for two of our group, 10 members gathered.
One of the celebrated guy is Japanese, same age to me.
He is going to leave Japan next month for English overseas education.
The other guy is 30 years old Canadian who came to here as working holiday, has been several months.
All members got acquainted each other though one of the English leaning studios in Sapporo.
As this background, we have had a conversation about a English-learning, a narrative of past overseas education and a characteristic of each country.
At the second party, three Canadian guys newly participated.
One of them is known-friend for earlier gathered members, and the others are his friend.
They have visited Japan as sightseeing.
They are leaving Japan at next Wednesday.
Such informal multinational party is an opportunity for me to freshen up my mind that we all have different characters.
I don’t know why but I think that we Japanese get in such multinational situation, our character becomes clear, although Japanese are regarded as not speared individual by other countries.
However, recently I haven’t catch something surprised me in such situation because of self adjustment to this situation, but I was surprised by these three Canadian’s decision.
In moving to the third party, Karaoke, they were separated themselves, although they have been sightseeing.
The one went to stay his guide, and the other stayed with other members, to sing.
It seemed that they discuss together to make them also comfortable.
They got a conclusion that they separately enjoy remained time from now till the return day.
I prefer acting by myself but it would be possible separating friends in sightseeing.
I am not sure that it is a cultural difference or their own way, got confused.

「カイロからケープタウンまで」が合言葉のようで、大遠征だ。
その目的は、もちろんビジネスである。
彼等は各国の政府及びいくつかのＮＧＯと接触し、二つの大きな仕事を獲得したとのこと。
タンザニア政府とは、政府が運営する７１の病院において、診断機器の更新を受注し、ザンビア政府とは、同じく国立のリハビリセンターの改修工事について、コンサルタント契約を結んだようだ。
これは、まさしくトップダウンのやり方である。
翻って我が社の海外進出の進め方を見ると、まずは販売代理店を捜すところから始まり、最終的には現地法人の設立を目指す、と至って保守的である。
安全運転ではあるが、スピードに欠ける。
無論、正解は一つではない。
要は選択肢を沢山持っておくことだ。
その為には情報収集が大切で、ビジネスマンたるもの、常にアンテナを高く張っておくことを忘れてはならない。

The team aimed to make a business in these countries.
For the purpose, They met representatives of these governments and a key-person of some NGOs acted in these countries.
Actually, they took the opportunities that closed two major contracts.
With Tanzanian government, they will replace a modality which 71 government run hospitals have used by their devices.
Then, with Zambian government, they got a consultantship to renovate one rehabilitation institute.
That way below is "Top-Down Method".
Needless to say, not only implemented this effective way, I guess they also have a capacity to deal with the contracts in their own or oursourced.
In contrast, our approach is still traditional.
If we want to make a business in such emerging countries, firstly seeking a dealer in certain country.
Then, we build a subsidiary in the country.
This approach is cautious and safety but lack of speed.
I believe that there is no single answer in business competition.
Having many option is significant for expanding our business.
I should be wired in the conpetition all over.

「神秘的な」
とは、女性にのみ許される形容詞だと思っている。
これは私見であるが、単に多面的（趣味を沢山持つなど）であったり、いわゆるギャップ、二面性を持つのみでは神秘的足り得ない。継承と包容が必要だ。多くの伝統と異質なもの、それらを全て飲み込んで、存在している。そういった存在にこそ「神秘的」という言葉は相応しい。
太古より、めまぐるしく変わる環境の中で、子を育み、人間という種を紡いできた女性たち、彼女たちには、継承と包容がある。
本書は、英国の経済紙「Ｆｉｎａｎｃｉａｌ Ｔｉｍｅｓ」の元、南アジア支局長にして、インド人の妻を持つ著者が、５年に及ぶインド滞在の経験を元に、現代のインド、具体的に言うと、ここ３０年間のインドについて綴ったものである。
言うまでもなくインドは、「次なる桃源郷」として、世界中の企業にとって垂涎の的となっている。私の購入動機もそういった下心に由るものである。「将来の仕事に役立てば」と思い、軽い気持ちで、入門書を手にしたつもりだった。
本書は、そんなビジネスマンの心を引っ掻きまわしてくれる。
“インド＝複雑”という評判は、多くの日本人にとって、すでに一般的になっていると言ってよいだろう。１８の公用語、２５の党による連立政権、複数の宗教などなど。
しかし、本書の読後に感じる“複雑さ”は、そういったステレオタイプでいることを許してはくれない。インドは、「神秘的な女性」なのだ。この女性は、相当に美しい。だが注意が必要だ。「神秘的な女性」は、いたずらを好む。もし現実でこの女性と関わるとすれば、かなり厄介なことになるだろう。しかし、だからこそ魅力的だ。仕事はともかくとして、一個人としても機会があれば旅をしてみたいと思う。
今は、下心よりも、彼女の全てを知りたい好奇心で一杯だ。
“Mysterious”, is a word which only is put it on women.
In my view point, if someone wants to be “Mysterious”, having many-sidedness or two-sidedness not enough. (For example, having a lot of hobbies.) The person should have inherited deep, cultivated traditions and comprehends another diverse culture. A person who is being there with such tradition and heterogeneous culture, is only allowed to have “Mysterious”. I think women have the Mysterious because they have given a birth, then brought up the lives for centuries.
This book was written by Edward Luce who has Indian wife, also had lived in India for five years as a director of South-Asia Financial Times. More specifically, he showed his impression on recent thirty year Indian history.
Needless to say, India is a target of a company from global because of its high rate economic growth expected. My motivation bought this book was the secret intention. When I purchased this, I thought “This would be helpful for my future.” I intended take a guide to India from the shelf.
This book shakes such calculating business-person’s mind.
Many of Japanese might recognize that India is the world prominent complicated country. for example, eighteen official language or rural government by twenty five parties is something remembering the recognition.
However, this book made me not to be such stereotype impression about India.
I think India is the Mysterious woman. This woman is unparalleled beautiful woman. We all guys who have a huge curiosity, are attracted this woman but you should be cautious. The Mysterious woman is always planning mischief which makes you confused. If I will be involved with this woman, it means having really hard time, but that’s why this woman is truly attractive for me. To set aside having a relationship with this woman on the job, I want to travel on this woman.
I am filled that want to learn all of the woman more than the self-centered wants.
