70年代、60年代の楽曲を幅広く聴いていくための布石となるための時期。
その入り口にはTHE BEATLESがぴったりだったんでしょう。
THE BEATLESの特番でこのバンドについて知り、ポールを知り、
ジョンを知った。
そして、、、
THE BEATLESのベストアルバム、通称赤盤、青盤がＣＤで再発になった。
たしかに、これを聞くべき時期だったんだなと思います。
このベストを聞くことで、音楽の知識、興味関心度合いがかなり
ひろがったからなあ・・
音楽を聴いていると、曲も演奏者もしらないのに、どこかで耳にしていて
その記憶だけあって、ふと、ＣＤなどでその曲をきくと
知らないはずなのに聞いたことがあるから、うれしくて得したような気分に
なってしまうことがよくあります。
このベストはまさに、そんな曲が満載でした。
THE BEATLESの曲は、たんに曲という範囲をこえて、幅広い影響をさまざまなところに
与えているような気がします。
印象的だったのは、ドリアン助川の番組で、洋楽の楽曲の歌詞を和訳していくというものが
あったんですが、そこでHey Judeが取り上げられたとき。
ドリアンは、冷戦崩壊を目の当たりにしているチェコにいたそうです。集まった民衆の波は大きなうねりとなって、自由へ向かってつきすすんでいたそうです。
そのとき、民衆がいっせいに歌っていた曲。
それがHey Judeだったそうです。
この歌は、ジョンの息子ジュリアンに向けて
ポールがつくったもので、幼いジュリアンを勇気づける歌詞になっています。
歌詞の中にあるこの部分。

The movement you need is on your shoulder
そうなんですよね。自分が動くことで、他人に影響を及ぼし、ひいては
世の中も変えていくことができる。誰かの助けを待っていてはいけない。
まさに冷戦崩壊間際の民衆の心理にぴたりとはまったのかもしれませんね。
こんな風にTHE BEATLESの楽曲は国という境界や時間を越えて
だれかに勇気や気づきを与えていくんでしょうね。
