Zach : That's interesting, like most people, like you know, they don't see like, one night stands or tiny little situationships as like very impactful things, but the reality is they are and like totally for what they are. It's a moment in time that you're sharing with this other human being.

Sivan : And it almost feels like a, I don't know, I just, I think that like having to break down the barriers, when you're a young queer person, you know, you're like, okay, I am not, like, fitting this heteronormative, you know, lifestyle that ever that most of the world experiences, so all of the rules kind of go out of the window, and that's really really really scary, and then, on the other side of it, is this kind of like freedom, where you're like, oh, the rules don't apply, to me.

Zach : And I do think that's something that exists within the queer community, and by the way, I also think like you know exploration and learning is it's like there's a different learning curve if you're a queer person, I think um... maybe I'm wrong on that but I do think so, you know, and the only way to learn is by like forming relationships again, whether that's a night relationship, or extremely casual situationship, or what have you need to be able to form those things, and I have a lot of friends that like, yes, like Grindr exists for a f**king reason, there's no real male uh hetero uh sexual equivalent to that, if you think about it, right? Tinder is the closest thing.

Sivan : Yeah, and I think like of course you know there's, it's a different type of encounter with someone, and it's not always going to, it's not always going to scratch the itch that you might have, you know, if you're searching for something other than something you know, quick or whatever, maybe it's not, maybe it's not, the moment to use that, and I think that that's why people can kind of get a little down about like, hookup culture or whatever um... is maybe they're seeking something deeper.

Sivan : But then, there's like the inherent issue is that, you're not you're not coming to it, knowing what you're getting yourself into, you're not communicating with yourself or with the other person about what you really want, you know, and that kind of course leave you feeling really empty and whatever, but I was just in a phase where, I was really really, enjoying all of that, and really being open about what I wanted, and I was like, getting it, you know, so it was, it was good, yeah.

Troye Sivan has announced details of a huge UK and European tour for 2024.
The tour is in support of Sivan’s acclaimed album ‘Something To Give Each Other’, which was released back in October. The record ? Sivan’s first in five years ? scored the Australian a glowing five-star review from Nick Levine for NME. Levine wrote: “It’s a strikingly vital pop album charged with love, lust, sweat and regret. You won’t need a bosh of poppers to feel thoroughly intoxicated.”
Hailed by The Guardian as "one of this year's best and most distinctive pop albums" and celebrated by Rolling Stone as "a pristine slice of pop heaven," the Something to Give Each Other Tour is destined to be Sivan 's biggest, boldest and brightest tour.
Sivan’s 17-date run will begin in Portugal on May 29, 2024, before continuing throughout Europe. Sivan arrives in the UK on June 22 at the Manchester AO Arena; the tour will conclude in Birmingham.Tickets for the shows go on sale on December 8 at 9am.
