Sivan : And so then, I texted it to Leland, who's like my closest collaborator who I've been working with for like a decade at this point, and we're best friends. And I was like, "Theo just texted me this. Am I insane? Or is there like something really really special about this?" He called me on facetime. He's like, "You're not crazy." So, I went into the studio, with Styles Fuego in Melbourne, and we wrote, you know, everything around it. We changed a bunch of lyrics and whatever. And wrote the verses and stuff. And then, by the end of the day, we had like a verse pre chorus and chorus of 'Rush'. And then, the second verse we ripped this rap verse, and like put it in, and just to kind of like, as a placeholder thing.

Sivan : And then, I went away with my sister and her friends, who are like, three years younger than me, much cooler than me, and they kind of like live and breathe the culture that I was sort of dipping into, like this Melbourne nightlife thing, that's like the whole world, and we went away, and Sage was like, "Can you please please please play the song?". And so, I played it, and everyone like got up immediately. They were singing the chorus by the end of the song by the first listen, you know. And that was kind of when I was like, "Oh s***, I think this might be the one."

How come, how did that start, and like how have that grown over the years?

Sivan : It was all right. Um, no. The song is good, but the title was average. Anyways, it ended up becoming 'Louder Than Bombs' for BTS, which is crazy. The law goes deep. Um, and so anyways, yeah. So then, we ended up. We just had this very successful first session, where I was like, Allie was going into the mic, and she was like whispering, and making like she was like screaming, and making all these weird sounds and stuff. And I was like, "Okay, these like freaks are exactly who I should be writing these songs with." Because I can like, be myself here too, you know.

Sivan : And from then onwards, I think, one of like the things that I cherish the most in my life, the things that I feel so so so lucky to have, is, creative relationships. I think, they are so so so special, like beyond beyond friendship, or like romance, or anything like that. I think, when you can connect creatively with someone, it's such a special feeling. And so, having these like long relationships that I really cherish, whether it's like, Leland or Oscar Görres or Charlie, like these are people that are, family to me, because you have that thing where you can bounce back and forth and back and forth.

And we continue to kind of like push each other, and grow with each other, and you know, in my like dream world, we'll be 80 years old writing slutty pop songs together still, yeah.

Sivan：Also, I think, the cool thing about it is like so for example, on this album, 'Rush' was basic basically a new team, but with Leland, and Styalz Fuego, who I had worked with a bunch. And then, 'Got Me Started' was Ian Kirkpatrick, who I had like worked with a bit, but it was also new on this album. Yeah. And so, Oscar Görres who's like kind of, the sort of main producer on this album. he wasn't in the first two singles.

And really was kind of like, the heart of the album in the middle of it. And I think, I could have never written that song, with anyone else. You know what I mean?

Troye Sivan has announced details of a huge UK and European tour for 2024.
The tour is in support of Sivan’s acclaimed album ‘Something To Give Each Other’, which was released back in October. The record ? Sivan’s first in five years ? scored the Australian a glowing five-star review from Nick Levine for NME. Levine wrote: “It’s a strikingly vital pop album charged with love, lust, sweat and regret. You won’t need a bosh of poppers to feel thoroughly intoxicated.”
Hailed by The Guardian as "one of this year's best and most distinctive pop albums" and celebrated by Rolling Stone as "a pristine slice of pop heaven," the Something to Give Each Other Tour is destined to be Sivan 's biggest, boldest and brightest tour.
Sivan’s 17-date run will begin in Portugal on May 29, 2024, before continuing throughout Europe. Sivan arrives in the UK on June 22 at the Manchester AO Arena; the tour will conclude in Birmingham.Tickets for the shows go on sale on December 8 at 9am.

Sivan’s eight-minute, 17-second coming-out video is a rare thing, equal parts star power and vulnerable humanity. He had promised himself he would come out before signing a record deal, knowing it was the only way he could write music that would be completely honest. When pressed, he now says he briefly wondered if it might have lost him some young, infatuated female fans, but he “had no other choice.
