子供の頃、私は、近くの山や海岸を父と散策したものです。

父は私に、色々な話をしてくれたものです。

散策中には、【自然の草木】の話から、【大東亜戦争】での話、【〇×日嗣：先祖から伝わる口伝（ロイ）による神話の世界】に至るまでの膨大な話をしてくれました。

ある日、海岸を散策している時、父が、「これはハマボウかな。」と言って、ある花を覗き込みました。しかし、その花とハマボウとの特徴が合わなかったみたいです。その後、この様な事が数度ありました。

結局、父と一緒にハマボウを見つけられなかった事が、未だに残念です。

It's still a pity that I couldn't find Hamabou with my father after all.

ハマボウの花を探そうと想ったのは、ふと、子供の頃に、父と散策した、海岸の事を思い出したからです。

ハマボウは、西日本から奄美大島及び済州島まで分布し、内湾海岸に自生する塩生植物で、夏に黄色の花を咲かせるそうです。

The reason I decided to look for hamabou flowers was because I suddenly remembered the beach I took a walk with my father when I was a child.

Hamabo is distributed from western Japan to Amami Oshima and Jeju Island, and is a halophyte that grows naturally on the inner bay coast, and it seems that yellow flowers bloom in summer.

ハマボウの漢字文字の成り立ち（父がラジオで聞いた）:

今、ハマボウは、「浜朴：Hama Paku」あるいは「黄槿：Huáng jǐn」と書いて、「ハマボウ」と発音することとなっています。

Hamabou is now written as "浜朴：Hama Paku" or "黄槿：Huáng jǐn" and pronounced "hamabou".

しかし、私が父から聞いたラジオの話では、

「実は、ハマボウの言葉の意味と語源は、「浜の坊主」から来ているそうです。「浜：はま」は海岸を意味し、「坊主：ぼうず」はクリクリの坊主頭を意味します。

ハマボウのツボミは、まるで坊主頭の子供のように可愛らしいです。

戦後間もない頃の正式な文字が決まるまでは、沿岸沿いに住む人々からは、海岸に坊主頭の様なツボミを付けて咲くことから、「浜の坊主」から「浜坊」と書いて親しまれて居たらしいです。」

ハマボウの花等：Hamabou flowers, etc.

ハマボウの花は、直径7cm程で、中心が赤褐色の黄色い花です。5枚の花弁は付け根から回旋して伸び、中心の赤褐色部は船のスクリューのように見えます。

ハマボウの樹高は1-5mほどの低木だが、枝はよく分かれ、株の内側はうっそうと茂ります。

Hamabo flowers are about 7 cm in diameter and have a reddish-brown yellow center. Five petals extend from the base, and the central reddish-brown part looks like the propeller of a ship.

Hamabo is a shrub with a height of about 1-5m, but the branches are well divided and the inside of the stock is dense.

1983年、徳島県鳴門市では、ハマボウを市の花に指定しました。

In 1983, in Naruto City, Tokushima Prefecture, Hamabo was designated as the city flower.
