この作詞・作曲者は不明であります。歌詞についてちょっと説明します。

一般兵士が隊長の彼女ペギーを愛してしまった故にこの兵士は自棄を起こし皆殺しにするだろうと終わるのです。

5コーラスにo（オウ）とありますがこれは韻でありとても聞き心地が良いです。

ポールの書く歌詞は難解なものが多い中こういう曲もありですね。
