Biel / Bienne
で、おうちに行く前にトムに指示される通りに運転したたどり着いたところがここでした;
Our Favorite Dish - Wiener Schnitzel
Wiener Schnitzel (from German Wiener Schnitzel, meaning Viennese cutlet) is a traditional Austrian dish and popular part of Viennese and Austrian cuisine, consisting of a thin slice of veal coated in breadcrumbs and fried.
Not to be confused with Wienerschnitzel , an American restaurant chain
(Wikipedia --> http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Schnitzel
)
So here we are, the Hissha of this blog about to dig into the real Wiener Schnitzel.
The place is called the Figmuller if I recall correctly, and this place was a bomb.
According to Wikipedia, Schnitzels made out of Veal is the origin and "real", but this one serves with pork.
Of course it's thin, and naturally the calorie intake out of this dish would be thousand you definitely want to confirm, but curiously enough I had asked the waiter how big the meat initially was before it turned into that shape. "About 3cm thick and about 20cm wide" said the waiter. Okay, that sounds like a decent size of meat...
Surprising the varieties of cutlet exists in various countries (check the Wiki page, link above). Don't we have the "tonkatsu" in Japan as well?
Not too greasy, and tasty by itself. Although I could have used ketchup or something :p
