また、首都圏マニラ市のダンワ花市場は
女性に贈る花を買い求める男性客で賑わっていた。
民間の調査機関ギャラップによると
最も愛を感じている国民はフィリピン人だという。
「愛を沢山感じましたか？」という質問に対して
感じたと答えたのはフィリピン人が93％だったという。

「男が灯油をかぶった状態で店に入ってきた。燃えている」と１１０番があった。
火は店舗に燃え移り
鉄筋２階建物の１階店舗部分約１４０平方メートルのうち
約１００平方メートルを焼き、店に入ってきた男も死亡した。
当時、店内には客１１人と従業員１７人がいたが
逃げ出して無事だった。
