i got this from my wife as a birthday present years ago but i barely wore it for a while. but all of a sudden, i started to wear it from the last summer. i see people wearing the leather bracelet version but rarely seen this one. it keeps accurate time. anyway, i really wanna be a man which the watch is suitable to.....

これは数年前に奥さんから誕生日プレゼントで貰ったんですが、長い間、つけることはあまりありませんでした。ところが、昨年の夏ころから突然つけ始めるようになりました。革バンドのベンチュラをつけている人は見かけますが、メタル・バンドはほとんど見かけません。正確な時を刻みます。と言うわけで、この時計にふさわしい男になりたいっす・・・。

i don't say i'm the only one who'd be turned on by seein this but there wouldn't be that many..... look at the color and fibers, it's exactly same as the material used for furniture such as shell chairs and side shells to name a few in the 50's. it's just beautiful. a lot of fibers were used in the 50's but manufacturers reduced the fibers in the 70s. the more fibers used for the material, the more furniture is old. but this pic is just taken, and i don't think it's that old.....

これを見てうっとりするのは自分だけ、とは言いませんが、あまり多くはないでしょう・・・。まずは色と繊維を見てください。50年代の例えばシェル・チェアやサイド・シェルなどといった家具なんかに使用されていた材料と同じです。もう、綺麗の一言です。50年代には沢山の繊維が使用されていたんですよね。それが70年代くらいになると少なくなっていきました。つまり、使用されている繊維が多ければ多いほど、その家具は古いということになります。でも、これは最近撮った写真ですし、それ程古くもないと思います・・・。

swimmers reunion

last night, i finally met up with old teammates for the first time in over 10 years (i met one of them like 5 years ago)!! it was quite fun. hope they had fun too. it's always nice to see friends. see you next time!!

昨晩、とうとう10年以上（1人は5年ぶりくらいかな）ぶりに昔のチームメイトと再会!! かなり楽しかったな。皆もそうだといいけど。友人に会うのって良いですね。また会いましょう!!

got this distilled spirits made of sweet potatoes, which is released once in a year. thank you very much!! I'm excited to taste it tonight. i could not drink those distilled spirits made of sweet potatoes before as they smell strong but nowadays, i can drink some.

1年に1度しか蔵出しされない芋焼酎を頂きました。有難うございます!! 今晩飲むのが楽しみ。以前は匂いがきつくて芋焼酎はあまり飲めなかったんですが、最近はちょっとばかし飲めるようになりました。

sandwich @ breakfast

we ate above sandwiches at breakfast as my wife bought two packs of sandwiches from cafe american where they serve quality sandwich at very reasonable price. above pic is hamburger and egg+mayonnaise sandwiches with thick texas style bread. actually, thse sandwiches are pretty thick and huge, and you can be pretty much full with them. and it's only 400yen but the point is that she got them at discounted price (200yen each) because she went there in early-evening.

奥さんが質の高いサンドイッチをリーズナブルな価格で提供している喫茶アメリカンからサンドイッチを買ってきましたので、朝食に。上の写真は厚みのあるパンで挟んだハンバーグと玉子＋マヨネーズのサンドイッチ。これらのサンドイッチはかなり厚めで大きいので、お腹一杯になります。これで400円は安いと思うのですが、ここでのポイントは夕方に半額ディスカウントで買ってきたということ（つまり200円）。

i again went out to buy extra present, and on the way back home, i stopped by at the place where my wife call it "mivmin" (actually, i like the sound of word!!). i was expecting to buy a pair of shoes but they did not have ones i liked. there will be some new stuff coming out on this weekend, so i may go there again.....

追加のプレゼントを買うため、再び出掛けることに。で、帰り際にうちの奥さんが言うところの「ミブミン」（結構気に入った響き）に寄ってみました。シューズ購入を期待していたのですが、お気に入りは見つからず。ただ、今週末には新しいリリースがあるみたいなので、再び行ってみるかもしれません・・・。

shibuya craze

went to shibuya via jiyugaoka w/my wife to buy some presents. everywhere was overflowing with people, people and people. we walked a lot, i mean a lot, and in fact, we had to stop by at a couple of places to have some beer and food.

幾つかのプレゼントを買うため、奥さんと一緒に自由が丘経由で渋谷へ。どこに行っても人が多いのなんのって。途中でビールを飲んだり、食事をしなければならないくらい歩いたようです。

in shibuya, i spotted the bicycle above, which is the same one i use to ride when i was in junior high school. it's called "kamakiri (means mantis)" as the handle shape looks like mantis. i was kinda suprized by the fact that they still make the bicycle. what a nostalgia.....

渋谷でこの自転車を発見。これは中学生の頃に乗っていた自転車と同じ。この自転車は、ハンドルの形状から「カマキリ」と呼ばれています。まだ作っていたんですね。あぁ、懐かしや・・・。

i take notes

when i make mix cds, i always take notes unless otherwise live recording. i write down eq setting (only high, mid and low though), mixing points, fader level, etc. for each track. i wish i had cdjs.....

ライブ録音でもない限り、ミックスcdを作る時はメモを取ります。イコライザーのセッティング（と言っても高・中・低のみですが）、ミックス・ポイント、フェーダー・レベルなどを書き込んでいます。cdjがあったらなぁ・・・。

i spotted these cool 60's to 70's ceiling lamps on the way back from ginza yatai bar in ginza last night. those lamps were in the hotel (don't know the name though) lobby and stairway to downstairs. ceiling and wall also represent that era. even though design was inspired by western culsture in that era or those lamps might be imported from overseas, overall image looks very much japanese, probably it's because of the ceiling design and bamboo-like wall design. nice!!

昨晩、銀座のginza yatai barからの帰り道で見つけた60～70年代の天井吊り下げランプ。これらのランプはホテル（名前は知りません）のロビーとその奥にある地下への階段のところにありました。天井や壁もこの時代を表しています。デザインは当時の西洋文化から影響された、ないしはランプそのものが海外から輸入されたものかもしれませんが、全体的なイメージとしてはかなり日本的な感じですね。それは多分、天井や竹をイメージするような壁のデザインのせいかもしれません。ナイス!!

by the way, it takes a lot of walk to go around in tokyo..... i'm not used to long-distance walking at all. but it's a good environment for me as i don't do any sports. well, i miss my car though.....

ところで、東京ってむちゃくちゃ歩きますね・・・。長い距離を歩くのには慣れていないもんで。でも、運動を一切やらない自分にとっては良い環境でしょう。でも、車が恋しいです・・・。
