上海の建物 Buildings of Shanghai
今日は、上海の建物について思うこと。
I write on buildings of Shanghai today.
西蔵路のビル。
よくある、１階は店舗で上は住宅になっているタイプですが、なんともかわいらしい。
ブータンで一番長く住んだアパートも、黄色い壁と白い窓枠でした。私は、このパターンが好きなようです。
This building is standing on Xizang lu. There are shops at ground floor and upper floors are for residence. The apartment where I stayed longest in Bhutan was yellow and white. I like this color combination.
上海には、新旧いろいろの、素敵なビルがたくさんあります。
いろんな歴史があっての、いろいろなビルです。でも、今ではそれがすべて「上海色」になっています。そのあたりが、パワフルで、かっこよいのです。
In Shanghai, there are many attractive buildings. Some are old and some are new. The history made this special view. All of these various styles make "Cool Shanghai Taste" I feel the power of China.
中には、無駄にコストがかかっていそうなビルもたくさんあって、風水のこだわりなのかなんなのか、見ていてあきません。
It seems that some of those cost much extra for decoration. Perhaps it is because of Feng shui. These designs entertain a lot.
新しいビルでも、豫園の近くのお店やレストランがはいっているビルは、とんがった屋根がかっこいい、ど派手な中国テイスト。豫園のような観光地は、やっぱりこういうのが楽しくて、気分をもりあげてくれます。
Some new buildings have traditional Chinese taste with sharp roof. This photo was taken near Yu Yuan. Nice to have these in tourists' area.
豫園の北側のあたり。
新旧のビルがそびえています。右側のレンガ色の建物が気に入ったのですが、それが、こんな風にモダンなものと並んでいるところもいいなぁと思って撮った写真です。
ところで、帰ってきてから、22年前の写真をひっくりがえしていたら、みつけました。

I like this view of mordern and classic buildings standing together.
After I came back, I was looking at old photos which I took 22 years ago.
同じあたりの写真を、昔も撮っている！
この、白いマークをつけたあたりが、22年前もあったビルです。
急に、親近感がわいてきたりして。
実は、22年ぶりの上海とはいえ、あまりあのときの記憶がないのです。
豫園と南京路に行った記憶はあったのですが、ホテルも覚えていません。自分の写真をみながら、ここにも行ったことがあったのね、と確認する始末。
I found I took same buildings' photo. I didn't recognize that I walked same place 22 years ago.
Actuary, I don't remember even where I stayed last time. However, I found I still like same taste after long time.
ここは、住宅専門のようで、写真つきで紹介してあります。
住所、何階建ての何階部分か、方角、面積、買い取るのか使用権か、価格、などが書かれています。
ほかに、バスルームが広い！など、おすすめポイントも書いてあります。
数百万円～数千万円。
基本的に、すべてが公営であるという建前の時代からすると、隔世の感があります。
I found an estate agent for residence. They introduce with photos.
"on *** street, 2nd floor of 5-floor-building, south east, 3 milion yuan,,,"
When I was in China, all buildings are basically public and there were very few private buildings. We hardly see estate agents.
最後に塀の写真も地味ですが･･･。
この鉄製の飾り、素敵ですよね。塀の機能としては、まったく必要ないばかりか、もしかしたらセキュリティ的にはNGかもしれません。わたしでもよじ登れそうです。
でも、素敵なもの、楽しいこと、というのは、ムダなことのなかにあると思うのです。それがゆとりなんじゃないかな、と思うのです。
「このコストは必要？」とつっこむのもよいのですが、その先にあるあそびを大切にしたいと思った、上海の建物紀行でした。
生きていくのにはまったく必要ない刺繍なんかに真面目にとりくんでいる私の言い訳かもね。
Fence is not intersting as last photo? Please don't say that.
I like this iron decoration. I think it's not necessary as fence. And perhaps it's wrong for security. However, from the point of enjoyableness and coolness, it's nice to have something not necessary. That is real rich, I think. That's what I felt with buildings of Shanghai.
The sense is similar with embroidery. That's what we don't need to live but do need for fruitful life.

おもしろかったこと Interesting things
今日は、上海でおもしろかったことや、ちょこっと買ったものなどを。
This article is on what I felt intersting and what I bought.
歩行者天国になっている、上海一番の繁華街、南京路。
何人も、踊っている人がいました。 （ほこてん＋ダンス＝たけのこ族 ？）
見ているだけじゃなくて、参加するひともいます。
Nanjing Street is the biggest downtown and a part of this street is no vehicles area. There were some dancers showing performance. It seems it's natural to join if you feel like so.
集合住宅が固まっているところの入口。
洗濯物がわたしてあって、いかにも中国らしい風景。
ドアのところに、番号を入力するタイプのカギがついています。
訪問者の方は、○○番を押してください、と、右下の黒いプレートに書いてあり、管理人さんを呼べるようです。

This is the typical way drying laundry and what I like to see.
And what I didn't see before is the dial key on the door. There were numbers for visitors to call caretakers.
でも、多少運用に問題あり？
It is good idea to have this but there is a problem on how they use.
見る気で見ていたら、番号はすぐにわかりそうです

I guess I can find the lock numbers if I try to watch carefully. Perhaps, better to have cover to hide.
街のいたる所にゴミ箱がありました。しかも、ちゃんと分別するタイプ。
There are trash boxes everywhere. And those are very systematic.
右の緑の方が、リサイクルするもの。
新聞・雑誌、びん・缶、プラスチック、布など、と書いてあります。
黄色い方は、その他のごみです。
The green one at the right is for recycle. You can throw paper, bottles, can, plastics and cloth. The yellow one at the left is for others.
それから、真ん中の柱の部分。
一番上は灰皿。
火がついたまま入れないで、とシールが貼ってあります。
灰皿の下の丸い穴は、乾電池。
And at the center, there is ashtray on top and the hole below is for dry batteries. The sticker says that don't throw cigarettes with fire.
ゴミ箱には、上のようにプラスチックの容器のものと、全体がステンレスでできた下のようなものがありました。
There are metal trash boxes also.
問題は、リサイクルするものと、その他のごみが、左右反対なこと･･･。
ちゃんと見て入れないとね。
The problem is we need to throw carefully because nobody knows which side is for recycle. Some are on the right, and some are not the left.
素敵な街並みだなぁ、と思って見ていたら、リヤカーをつけた自転車のお兄さんが、ちりんちりんとベルを鳴らしながらやってきました。
窓から顔をだした女性が「２階に来て！」と声をかけ、お兄さんは門の中へ。
廃品回収の人のようです。
I like this strees appearance mix the past and the present nicely.
--- A man came by bicycle with a cart and he was ringing a bell. A woman at the second floor called from the window. He is collecting papers and clothes for recycle.
そこに、わんこをつれた、おしゃれな女性がやってきました。
すると、わんちゃん、ここでおトイレタイム。
そして、女性はティッシュをとりだし、
A woman with a small dog came along the street. Then, the dog started dropping something.
The woman took out tissue paper and ...
わんこのお尻を拭きました。
え？そっち？
ちゃんとこの後、ティッシュでわんちゃんの落し物も始末していらっしゃいました。
ふわふわの毛並みがきれいな、よく手入れされたわんちゃんでしたからね。
お尻だけ拭いてたら、笑えなかったけど
She wiped the dog!
I expected she would clean the sidewalk as what we should do in Japan. For her honour, she cleaned the side walk after that.
買ったものと言っても、仕事に使うものと、おみやげと、食べ物以外は、あまり買いませんでした。
行ったらすぐ買うつもりで、予定通り買ったのは、布鞋。
上海でも室内履きにしていましたが、日本でもホテルで履くスリッパにしようと思っています。
I want to introduce what I bought, but I didn't shop much for me.
This is a pair of typical Chinese shoes made by cloth. I used to wear and I like it. I'll wear when I stay at hotel in Japan too.
これが、今回の旅行で唯一わたしが写っている写真です。
And this is the only photo which I took myself in shanghai this time.
コンビニでみかけて、つい買っちゃったのが、中国版VOGUE。
表紙のマギー・チャンについられて、つい。 ズッシリ重かった。。。
I bought a magazene. I like the actress of cober page.
この布鞋と雑誌、どちらも20元（約340円）。
中国人だったら、VOGUEを買う人は、布鞋を買わないと思われますが、わたしはどちらも楽しめました。
Both of these, shoes and magazene cost 20 yuan. Not so many Chinese buys both of these I guess, but, I enjoy both.
それにしても、為替の変動って切ないですね。
今なら１元15円ちょっと。ドルなら95円以下です。
つい先月のことなのに、１元17円ちょっと。ドルは102円でした。
世界中のすべての人にとってお得、というわけにはいかないものですかね。
お互い、複雑に関係しあって存在しているからこそ、なんですけどね。
By the way, the difference of exchange rate is sometime painful. I know we have relationships each other and not standing alone. That's way the rate also changes. Still I hope exchange rate make everybody happy wherever in the world.

上海の足 Transportation in Shanghai
今回上海に行った一番の目的は、刺繍に使う布を買うこと。
The main purpose of visiting Shanghai was to purchase cloth for embroidery.
色に偏りがありますね。
ピンクや黄色や水色など、明るい色を買った日もあったのに。
I bought bright colors the other day but it seems this day's shopping was more for dark colors.
9時すぎにホテルを出て、まずは銀行で両替。
それから、めぼしいお店に向かって、開店10時から買い物。
2時か3時まで歩きまわって、へとへとになってホテルにもどります。
もう、ホテルの入り口の数段の階段が、つらいこと、つらいこと。
せっかく中国にいるのだから、按摩に行きたい。と思うのですが、それから出かける元気もなく、買った物や領収書の整理をしたら、まずは昼寝。
夜も、ホテルの近所は歩きましたが、コンビニでジュースを買って、ちょこっとフルーツを買って、あとはお部屋で明日の計画を練って寝るだけ。
そんな毎日でした。
目的をこなすまでは、なかなか遊ぶ気にもならないところが、出張の悲しさです。
I left hotel around 9 am and went to the bank for exchange. Then start shopping. I continure to shop till 2 or 3 pm. When I came back to hotel, I was exhausted and it was very hard to climb up the stairs of hotel entrance.
Since I'm in China, I felt like to go out for having massage. However, I was too tired to go out again. I checked the items and receipts, then I couldn't do anything but having a nap.
At night, I took walk around the hotel just for buying some food and stayed at hotel. After planning for the next day, just slept and slept and slept.
Until I finish my work, I couldn't have fun.
さて、そんな上海での移動ですが、タクシーや地下鉄も使いましたが、一番便利だったのがバスでした。
Transportation in Shanghai, I used subway and taxi, but I used bus most.
バス停で行き先をさがして、何番の路線に乗るか確認します。
Check the signboard to find out which route to take
バスの前に表示されている番号を確認して、乗ります。
Then, check the route number of the bus, and get in.
ただいまの気温 27度。
と出ているところに、「次は○○駅」と表示がでます。
漢字だと、なんとなく安心。
アルファベットの羅列で確認するんだと、もっとちゃんと読まないと不安なのです。
There is a signboard inside. With this photo, it shows "It is 27 degrees C outside" but it shows the next bus stop also. The Chinese characters are familiar for us too.
ギンガムチェックの座席のデザインが、かわいらしい内装です。
たぶん、黄色が優先席。
ガイドブックには、バスは混んでいてスリの危険もあるし要注意。できれば地下鉄を利用しましょう。と書いてありました。
でも、わたしが乗った範囲では、地下鉄の方がいつもバスよりも混んでいました。
バスだとほとんど座りましたが、地下鉄はいつも立っていました。
窓の外の景色をみるのも面白いし、バス停の方が間隔が短いので目的地の近くまで行けます。
地下鉄から出てきたときは方角を確認しなくちゃいけないけど、バスだと方向感覚も狂いません。
というわけで、よくバスのお世話になりました。
My guide book says that it's better to take subway than bus because it's not secure. But, subways were always packed and I felt buses are more comfortable. I could enjoy the view outside. The distance between bus stops is closer then subway stations. When I came out from underground, I needed to be careful to find out the direction but it can't happen with buses. So I enjoyed taking buses.
便利だったのが、プリペイド式の交通カードと地図。
この地図は、どこのコンビニにもありますから、気軽に買えます。
交通カードは、地下鉄の駅などで発行してもらえます。
バス、地下鉄、タクシーなど、交通機関ではどこでも使えました。
バスの場合、乗るときに端末にかざすと、ピッとバス代がひかれます。
小銭を用意しなくてもいいし、とっても簡単！
でも、簡単なのはいいのですが、これだけの数のバスの一台にひとり、車掌さんの仕事がなくなったんだなぁと思うと、少し考えてしまいました。
確かにとっても簡単でらくちん。
と同時に、雇用の縮小になっちゃうのですね。
それから、昔はパンタグラフをつけたトロリーバスが多かったのですが、とても少なくなっていました。
低公害車が増えたのでしょう。
それほど排ガスがひどいこともなく、上海の空気は思った以上にきれいでした。
This transportation card and map made me very easy to go around. You can buy this map at convenience stores. And you can get the transportation card at subway stations. You can use this card for taxi, bus and subway. It was very comfortable without keeping small change for transportation.
However, I wonder how many people lost work as bus conductor.
And we could see many trolleybuses before, but there are very few now. It seems better buses with less exhaust gas increase these days. The air was better than I expected.
中国では、道路標識がいたるところにあります。
通りの名前と、東西南北の表示があり、とてもわかりやすい！
ちょっとコツをつかめば、移動の苦労はまったくありません。
これから上海にいらっしゃる方、安心していらしてくださいね。
There are many signboards instructing street name and directions. Those are very helpful. I didn't have trouble at all going around.
