`Sober Curious' Lifestyle あえてお酒を飲まない生き方(1)
SUMMARY

Ide Kyohei: Hey, Tim, we haven't grabbed a drink together for some time now. Do you want to catch up over some beers?
Tim Blanc: Not a bad idea, Kyohei. But I've got something even cooler in mind. I found a nice sober bar in the Village. It's got this witchy tea parlor vibe and draws in such an interesting crowd. How about going to the next monthly meet-up for a Sober Curious group?
Ide Kyohei: Oh, I'm sorry. Have you given up alcohol?
Tim Blanco: At the moment. I've been rolling with the Sober Curious gang since Dry January just as a personal experiment. I don't know how long I'll stick with it, but at least until Sober October. In honor of "Drynuary" as I like to call it, I explored some of New York City's new sober bars, mocktail lounges, and liquor-free pop-up parties.
Ide Kyohei: Hold on, Tim. Sober bars and Sober Curious? I'm lost.
Tayanita O'Locklear: Sober Curious is this lifestyle where you either cut back on alcohol or ditch it entirely driven by curiosity about the sober life. It started gaining traction among millennials in the late 2010s and has become increasingly popular in recent years.
Tim Blanco: Yeah, being Sober Curious means questioning every impulse to imbibe instead of seeing alcohol as a routine or a crutch, reevaluating our drinking habits for mental or physical health.
