赤毛のアン4章8

In the garden below were lilac-trees purple with
flowers, and their dizzily sweet fragrance drifted
up to the window on the morning wind.

窓の下の庭では、リラの木が花をつけ、朝の風に吹かれて
うっとりする甘い香りが窓辺まで昇ってきていた。

On both sides of the house was a big orchard,
one of apple-trees and one of cherry-trees, also
showered over with blossoms; and their grass
was all sprinkled with dandelions.

家の両側にはそれぞれリンゴと桜の大きな果樹園があり、

A huge cherry-tree grew outside, so close that
its boughs tapped against the house, and it was
so thick-set with blossoms that hardly a leaf was
to be seen.

窓の外には大きな桜の木が生えている。あまり近くに
あるので枝が家に触れていた。その木には、葉っぱが
一枚も見えないほど重なるように花が咲いている。
