衣替えをし始めたらまた暑くなった。初夏のような爽やかな陽射しである。秋の天気はわからない。

先日から以前買っておいた文法書を読み始めた。この書700ページ程のものだが妙に読み易い。小説のような感じで読める。
その中に「人間描写の形容詞」という項があり、目新しい単語をいくつか知った。「女心・・・」ではないが、“temperamental”（「お天気屋の（感情の起伏が激しい・移り気な）」）という語である。
Temperamental:
1) If you say that someone is temperamental, you are criticizing them for not being calm or quiet by nature, but having moods that change often and suddenly.
「（人を非難して）人が生来落ち着きが無く静かでなく、しばしば突然に機嫌が変わる様子」
2) If you describe something such as a machine or car as temperamental, you mean that it often does not work properly.
「機械や車などが、しばしば適切に動かなくなる様子」

Bossy: 「親分肌の」
Down-to-earth: 「気取のない」
Fun-loving: 「楽しいことが好きな」
Medium-built: 「中肉中背の」
Sissyish: 「女々しい」
Spendthrift: 「金遣いが荒い」
Wishy-washy: 「優柔不断な」
Withdrawn: 「引っ込み思案の」
