先ほど書いた「権利の侵害」に直接関係するものばかりではないが、今回「横領・着服」、「不正使用・流用」、「盗作・盗用」という「犯罪」を意味する単語を紹介する。
動詞は”embezzle”, “misappropriate”, “plagiarize”で、名詞はそれぞれ”embezzlement”, “misappropriation”, “plagiarism”である。
定義は以下のとおり。
Embezzle:
If someone embezzles money that their organization or company has placed in their care, they take it and use it illegally for their own purposes.
「人が、組織や会社がその人の管理下に置いた金銭を奪い取り、違法に自分自身の目的に使用すること」
Misappropriate:
If someone misappropriates money which does not belong to them, they take it without permission and use it for their own purposes.
「人が、自分のものでない金銭を許可無く奪い取り、自分自身の目的に使用すること」
Plagiarize:
If someone plagiarizes another person’s idea or work, they use it or copy it and pretend that they thought of it or created it.
