「仕事を減らす」という本を読んだ。
I read a book called "Reducing Work."
①「引いて考える」
"Thinking from a distance"
例えば、あなたの子どもが玄関で靴を揃えなかったとする。
For example, suppose your child doesn't put their shoes in order at the entrance.
あなたは時間がないから、「靴を揃えなさい」と叱る。
Because you don't have time, you scold them by telling them to put their shoes in order.
でも、このことを引いて考えてみると、子供が靴を揃える十分なスペースがないことや、毎回叱る時間が無駄なことに気づいたりする。
But if you think about this from a distance, you'll realize that there isn't enough space for your child to put their shoes in order, and that scolding them every time is a waste of time.
毎日、叱らなくていいようにするために工夫してみる。
Try to think of ways to avoid scolding them every day.
靴を揃えることをゲームにすればどうか。
How about making putting shoes in order into a game?
例えば、玄関に足型を書いて、そこにきれいに開けたらポイントを上げるゲームをする。
For example, make a game where you draw footprints at the entrance and get points if your child neatly puts their shoes in there.
それだけで、あなたの子供は靴を揃えるようになるかもしれない。
Just by doing that, your child might start putting their shoes in order.
引いて考えることで、突破口が見つかる。
Thinking from a distance can help you find a breakthrough.
②「試す」
"Trying"
その1番の理由は、失敗が怖いからだ。
The main reason for this is that they are afraid of failure.
多くの人は、自分で考えたアイディアを実行せずに置いてしまう。
Many people put off ideas they come up with without putting them into practice.
でも、試す人だけが仕事を減らせる。
But only those who try can reduce work.
より良い方法を試して悪ければまた改善する。
Try a better method and if it doesn't work, improve it again.
この繰り返しが、仕事減らすために重要になる。
Repeating this process is important to reduce work.
あのエジソンも、1つのものを発明するために、数百回数千回の失敗をしている。
Even Edison failed hundreds or thousands of times to invent one thing.
失敗することを恐れるよりも、試さずに終えることを恐れよう。
Rather than being afraid of failing, be afraid of giving up without trying.
引いて考える。試す。
Think about it and try it.
