I read "A Letter from an Economic Critic's Father to His Son" written by Hajime Yamazaki.
この本は、経済のことだけでなく、人生を豊かにするために重要な考え方が書かれている。
This book is not only about economics, but also contains important ideas for enriching your life.
そしてこの本では、資本主義を「リスクをとりたくない人間から、リスクを取ってもいい人間が利益を得るようにできている」と考えている。
This book considers capitalism to be ``designed so that those who are willing to take risks profit from those who do not want to take risks.''
早速、この本で重要だと思ったこと3つ紹介する。
I would like to introduce three things that I thought were important in this book.
①「適度なリスクを取ることが大事」
“It is important to take appropriate risks”
例えば、

では、適度なリスクとは何か。

失敗したときに、借金が残らなければいい。

すぐに次の一方踏み出せるのであれば、それは適当なリスクだと考えていい。
If you can take the next step immediately, consider it a reasonable risk.
②「他人と違う能力を磨き、替えのきかない人材になることが大事」
“It is important to develop skills that are different from others and become an irreplaceable person.”
今の職場であなたにしかできない仕事はあるか。
Are there any tasks that only you can do at your current workplace?
もしそれがあるのならば、大事にすべきだ。
If you have it, you should cherish it.
あなたにしかできない仕事があればあるほど、あなたの価値は高まる。
The more work that only you can do, the more valuable you are.
他の分野でも探すスキルを持っている人が少なければ、さらに良い。
It would be even better if fewer people had the skills to look for in other fields.
替えのきく人材は安い値段で労働力を買われてしまう。
Replaceable human resources are bought at low prices.
別に難しい技術を持っていなくていい。
You don't need to have any difficult skills.
例えば、あなたに営業のスキルがあるのならば、英語を勉強することで国際的な価値が高まる。
For example, if you have sales skills, studying English will increase your international value.
いまあなたがもっているものを複数掛け合わせることで、その価値は格段に高まる。
Multiplying the things you currently have will greatly increase their value.
だからあなたが興味をもっていることを大事にしよう。
So focus on what you are interested in.
③「異性からモテること」が大事
It is important to be popular with the opposite sex
私たちの幸福感は自分が承認されているかどうかに左右される。
Our sense of well-being depends on whether or not we are accepted.
特に異性から「モテること」が大事で、モテないと幸せになりづらい。
It is especially important to be popular, which is the approval of the opposite sex, and it is difficult to be happy if you are not popular.
モテるには、自分語りをせすにただ心からの興味を示しながら、相手の話を熱心に聞くこと。
To be popular, listen intently to what the other person has to say, while showing genuine interest in what they have to say.
自分の話をする人はモテない。
People who talk about themselves are not popular.
ルッキズムに溢れる世の中で、私のように見た目で勝負できない人は、とにかく話を聞こう。笑
In a world full of lookism, if you're like me and can't compete with looks, let's just listen.
話の聞き方は本で知識をつけたり、経験を積むことで改善される。
The way you listen to stories can be improved by acquiring knowledge through books and gaining experience.
