1957年にポール・アンカが作詞作曲し、自ら歌って有名にした楽曲で、

1957年5月にニューヨークのドン・コスタ（英語版）のスタジオで録音された。

その後、RCAレコードと契約した後、

アンカは「ダイアナ」など数多くのヒット曲を1963年に再録音した。

これらのバージョンは、イタリアでも、特別なLPとして発売された。

イギリスのダイアナ元妃とは無関係。
