When I was in middle school, I had trouble making friends.
中学生の頃、たたは友達を作るのが苦手でした
However, there was one person who could almost be called my only friend.
でも、たった一人だけの友達といっていいほどの親友がいました
He transferred to our school in the second semester of the second year.
彼は中学2年の時に転校してきました
He was a peculiar guy, and he made a point of talking to me, even though I was isolated.
変わった奴で孤立していたたたにわざわざ声をかけてくれました
His hobby was bowling, and for a middle schooler, he was quite skilled, with an average score of over 160.
彼のボウリングの平均スコアは160以上で中学生としてはかなりの腕前でした
Bowling is an expensive activity for middle school students, and there weren't any classmates who could accompany him.
当時ボウリングは金のかかる遊びで、それに付き合えるクラスメイトはいません。
But I had enough money, so I often went to the bowling alley with him.
たたには少しお小遣いの余裕があったので、よく彼とボウリング場へ遊びに行きました。

そういえば、マイボウル、マイシューズまで買ったなぁ・・・
