「～の大きさ」という日本語に対応する訳語として、時々 magnitude という語が使用されていることがあります。
magnitude of somethingという表現は、一般的には、絶対値で表せるようなものの大きさを示すときに使用されます。

測定可能なものの大きさを表すときには intensity と置き換え可能なことも多いです。
一方、degree of somethingは、絶対的な数値というよりは、物の状態のレベルなどを示すときに使用されることが多いように思います（角度を表す場合を除く）。逆に和訳すると、「～の大きさ」というよりは「～の度合い」のように訳すことになると思いますが、そのイメージ通りです。

例えば、「反りの大きさ」といった、状態の変化の度合いを表現する場合には、後者のほうが適切と考えます。
漠然と「大きさ」というと沢山の訳語がありますので、日本語明細書の作成時、適切な場合には「度合い」「程度」といった表現を使用することで、より適切な訳語を導くことができると思います。
