クリスマスの意味
この時期、街中がクリスマスの雰囲気で浮き足立っています。
街中がイルミネーションで飾られ、プレゼントを買う人やパーティーに行く人たちで溢れかえっています。
でも、本当のクリスマスの意味とはなんでしょうか？
パーティーやプレゼントも楽しいですが、家族や自分の本当の幸せの意味を考えたり、恵まれない人たちに思いをはせる時間をもちたいなと思います。
日ごろは忙しくて他の人を気にする余裕がなくても、この時期、見知らぬ、大変な状況の人たちを思う時間をもちたいと思います。東京にでて、ひとりで頑張っている人、経済的に生活の大変な人、病気の人、ホームレスの人、孤独な人。あらゆる不遇の人たち。
今日、あるティールームで、後ろに座った、年配の女性のグループの会話が耳に入ってきました。
彼女たちは、遠くから電車を乗り継いで、この付近の夜景を見に来たようでした。
私たちはその会話を聞いて、なんともしらけた思いになってしまったのです。
ひとりは、東京の夜景スポットを網羅していたようで、どこどこの夜景はこう‥どこどこはこう‥と自慢げに話していました。まるで、小さなグループを自分がリードしているかのような‥
もっと大人になろうよ。
私たちは、人より少しだけいい服をきて、少しだけ贅沢な暮らしをして、少しだけ美人でも、それで幸せになるわけではない。そう錯覚するだけで‥それより、自分の中に幸せがあるのだと思います。
これから、どんどん日本の経済状況も冷え込んでいくでしょう。
そのあと残るものは？本当に大切にしなければならないものとは？
クリスマスにこそ、もっと特別な、価値のある、自分の‥そして人の幸せを考えてみたいものです。

The end of year movies
With the end of year near, the fight for entries number is at its high. I do not like to watch blockbusters even if some of them may be a good movie. Even in Tsutaya, they put only the "big" movies. Going to see a movie in the movie theatre is tiring and I prefer to wait to get a DVD to watch a movie.
The end of this year there are some movies that I want to talk about, I did not watch them but I just watched the trailer or heard the story. I hope I can hear from those of you who watched or plan to watch these movies:
The Day the Earth Stood Still: A remake of the 1951 classic sci-fi film about an alien visitor and his giant robot counterpart who visit Earth to warn the planet about nuclear war. Too much computer graphic. I watched Matrix and I thought it was a good movie but I am not sure this one is at the matrix level.
Bolt:For super-dog BOLT (John Travolta), every day is filled with adventure, danger and intrigue – at least until the cameras stop rolling. When the star of a hit TV show is accidentally shipped from his Hollywood soundstage to New York City, he begins his biggest adventure. I like some times to watch the anime style movie like Panda, Madagascar, Shrek... I wish I can watch this one with Oasis since she loves the movies with dogs in the leading role.
Australia:An English aristocrat inherits an Australian ranch the size of Maryland. When English cattle barons plot to take her land, she reluctantly joins forces with a rough-hewn cattle driver to drive
2,000-head of cattle across hundreds of miles of the country's most unforgiving land, only to still face the bombing of Darwin by the Japanese forces that had attacked Pearl Harbor only months earlier. I like Hugh Jackman, he is a good actor and a humble person. This movie remind me eth crocodile hunter; the story may be different but the atomosphere is well the same.
Transporter 3: Frank Martin has been pressured into transporting Valentina, the kidnapped daughter of Leonid Vasilev, the head of the Environmental Protection Agency for the Ukraine, from Marseilles through Stuttgart and Budapest until he ends up in Odessa on the Black Sea. A movie to watch for fun. The two Transporters were not bad especially the fighting scenes.
There also some europeans africans or south americans movies, but it is hard to get DVDs or even to watch the trailers. Some romantic movies also but we will have time to talk about next time.

2008年はどんな年でしたか？
皆さんにとって２００８年はどのような一年だったでしょうか。
私にとって、２００８年はどちらかというと、大変な一年でした。
あるバレーダンサーが、「苦しいときこそ人は成長できる。上手くいっているときには、人は意外と成長しないものなんです」
と言っていました。なるほど！
つらい時期を迎えている人がいるとしたら、その時期こそあなたは成長している。ということだそうです。
なるほど、大変な時期と言うのは、物事を解決しようと絶えず自問したり、試行錯誤をしたりすると思うので、普通の時より、何倍も脳が働いていたりするのかもしれません。
ある意味で、物事を深く考えることができる貴重な時期なのかもしれませんね。
世界的には、まだまだ苦しい時期が続きそうですが、そんなときこそ、深く考えて賢く行動したいものです。そうしていれば、いつかはトンネルをぬけるように、明るい未来を見られるようなるのだと信じたいです。
個人的には、今年も最後の最後になって、いろいろなことが急に好転し始めました。
それを思うと、トンネルには必ず出口があるのだと思います。
もし問題を抱えている人がいるとしたら、問題はいずれは必ず解決できる。それより、自分をどれだけコントロールできるかが大切なのだ。と伝えたいです。
今年、私たちは初めてブログを始めて、ブログ上でいろいろな方とめぐり合うことができました。
みなさんといろいろなことを共感しあったり、意見の交換をできることは、本当にうれしかったです。
皆さんの人生をちょっとでも垣間見れたり、参考にすることがあったり。
ネットという、狭いと思われる世界の奥には、無限の世界が広がっていると感じることもできました。
今年もまだまだ、ブログは続きますが、今日は皆さんに感謝の気持ちをお伝えしたいと思って、記事を書きました！

Nobel price physics 2008
I have been talking about this year Nobel price especially in physics because of two reasons:
-My background in this field even if I do not read recently any publication in this area but still frm time to time I like to talk about it.
-This year the Nobel price in physics went to three japanese scientists, and I was asked many times: What does this theory can be helpful for our daily life?
Hard question! The work of these scientists started decades ago; and it was a continuous work of earlier work of great works for subatomic particles. Subatomic particles include the atomic constituents electrons, protons, and neutrons. Protons and neutrons are composite particles, consisting of quarks.
Experimental research and theory are both the leading process to discover the smallest particles in this universe. People started to be interested in the lives of the new laureats, but few know that the price they were awarded were fruit of long years success surely but failure as well.
So HOW DOES SUBATOMIC PHYSICS IMPACT OUR LIVES?
The science-driven demands of subatomic physics lead to innovations that benefit society as a whole. For example, accelerator technology that was originally developed for basic subatomic physics is now widely used for such diverse applications as cancer therapy, studying the structure of viruses, designing new drugs and developing new semiconductors and microchips.

for medical imaging, first used in subatomic research
