次の日のお昼、セントパンクラス駅からユーロスターに乗りパリへ出発。
ロンドンまたね！ありがとうロンドン！（‐＾▽＾‐）

Next day we took Eurostar to Paris from St. Pancras.
Good bye London! Thank you London!（‐＾▽＾‐）



パリに着いてみると、ロンドンよりずーーっとあったかい！
ジャケットを脱いで、サンジェルマンデプレのホテルにチェックインし、早速向かったのは。。。
ルーブル！

When we arrived in Paris, it was sooooo much warmer than London!
We took off a layer each, headed to our hotel in Saint Germain De Pre to check in.
And then we were finally there. Louvre!



話では聞いていたけれど中に入るとそのスケールの大きさにすでにちょっとくらくら。。。(・・；)　

I knew it was gonna be big, but I almost fainted when we walked inside. (・・；)



ルーブルでは父の後に着いて、とりあえずみんなで大物を攻めて行きます。
普段はルネサンスにあまり興味がなくて、いきなり印象派の館へ行って満足な私達ですが、
「お父さんの解説を聞きながら回るのは面白かった。」とテリーも言ってくれました。
しかし！父が所々でその作品について解説してくれるので、
がんばってテリーに訳すのだけど
「それだけ？？今お父さんは絶対もっと色々話してたー！」と疑われるのだった。
話してる内容は同じなのです！
父の解説にはストーリー性があって、ゆっくりとそれを伝えてくれる。
私はテリーが会話に同時に参加できてると思える様に、早く説明してあげなきゃと思って、ピンポイントだけ拾っていたからそういう結果になったのでは。。。
テリーとうちの両親が同じ言語で理解し合えたら、私の訳よりテリーはずっと面白い事が聞けたんじゃないかなと思って反省。。。でもでも徐々に隙間を埋めれる様に、頑張り続けるよ！(＞＜;)

At Louvre my dad played the part of tour guide for us, so we followed him from one masterpiece to another.
We usually skip Renaissance and head straight to Impressionism,
but it was a fun experience to look at these artworks while dad explained to us the back story of each piece.
However, Terry was suspicious that I wasn't translating everything.
"Nooo. Is that all he said? I'm pretty sure he was talking a lot longer than you just did! Wah!" He says.
I think it seemed that way since my dad was talking about each piece as if he was telling a story.
I tried to translate as fast as possible so he wouldn't feel left out of the conversation, and picked highlights to make sure he gets all the facts.
I can't help but to imagine what if Terry and my family could communicate in same language...I think it'd been even more interesting and exciting for him to listen to Dad without my filter. But I'll keep trying! I'll keep trying to make this gab smaller.(＞＜;)









ルーブルは建物自体もすごかった。どこを見ても気を抜いてない感じ。
体力の限界まで館内を徘徊し、外に出るともう日が沈んでいた～～。

Architecture of Louvre itself was mind blowing. Every corner you look, it was full of history.
We roamed around until we couldn't walk anymore.
When we got outside, it was already after sunset.



ホテルまで、橋を渡って帰ります。
きれいな夜のパリ。
明日は一体どんな事が待っているのか、わくわくさせてくれます。

We crossed the bridge to go back to our hotel.
Parisian night is a beauty.
Makes me excited for what tomorrow may bring.

またまた忙しい日々が続いて、やっとヨーロッパ旅行記再会だー！(・・；)
早く書かないと忘れちゃうぞ。。。
ストーンヘンジからロンドンに戻って来たのは夕方６時頃。
ホテルで休憩して、老舗レストラン「ルールズ」へディナーに行きました。
イギリス料理はまずいとよく聞くけれど、本当にそんなことはない。
おいしいものは、探せばちゃんとあるのだ！

So it's been very busy again!
I need to finish this trip report before my memory starts to fade away! (・・；)
We got back to London from Stonehenge around 6pm.
Rested at the hotel for a while then headed to "Rules" for dinner.
You know everyone says Food is no good in UK...but I really don't think that's true.
If you really want something delicious and look for it, it's right there for you.



ギネスとワインで乾杯！

Dinner starts with Guinness and Wine!



前菜は父母は生牡蠣、私達はエアルームトマトのサラダとフォアグラのパテ。
すごいどっしり出て来た。

The parents had oysters, we had heirloom tomato salad and foie gras for appetizer.





メインは帆立。このグリーンのソースがとっても美味しかったのです。
父母の頼んだお肉料理（何の肉か忘れちゃった。。。(^▽^;) ）柔らかくて美味でした。

We had scallops for our main. This green sauce was so good!
I can't remember what it was made of...memory loss!
Grilled meat dish the parents ordered was really nice too. So soft and juicy.
I can't remember what kind of meat it was....again, memory loss. (^▽^;)



デザートはシャンパンのシャーベットとパンナコッタ。
欧米を旅行する時にはあまり期待できない「程よい甘さ」！！＼(゜□゜)／

We had champagne sorbet and panna cotta for dessert.
It was just sweet enough, and not too sweet. ＼(゜□゜)／
Amazing!




私はどこかへ旅行する時、どこで何を食べるのか調べまくるのが大好きで、
今回もしつこくリサーチしまくりました。
ロンドンでどうしても、イギリス料理、
それも伝統的じゃなくてモダンなイギリス料理が食べたかったのです。
それに両親と一緒の旅行なら、尚更食べ物は満足してもらいたい！！
けっこうハードスケジュールで、行けなかった所もあったけど、
それもまた次回の楽しみに繋がるのだ。
ロンドン最後のディナー、素敵なひとときでありました。
ホテルまでの帰り道、寄り道してみた夜のビッグベン！
書いてたらお腹すいて来ちゃった。。。

Whenever I travel somewhere, I do extensive research for food!
This trip was no exception. I really wanted to eat at good British restaurant.
Not traditional British, modern British!!
So I looked and looked to make sure we're not taking my parents to a shitty restaurant...
We had a really tight schedule in London, so I didn't get to take everyone to all the restaurants I found.
They will have to wait for our return!
Big Ben was beautiful on they way back to the hotel!
And now I'm hungry...

３日目はレンタカーを借りて、ロンドンからずっと西へ。。。
こんな丘や小さな村をいくつもも越えて行きます！

On the 3rd day, we drove to the west in our rental car.
Passing hills and small towns one after another...



そして現れた。

and then it was there.



すごいぞ～～～。本物のストーンヘンジだ！

Whoaaa it's the stonehenge! in our face!



オーディオを聞きながら結構近くまで行けちゃう。
このオーディオは長くて私はすぐに断念。(^▽^;)
しっかり説明してもらえます。
空気感だけたっぷり味わう事にしてぐるぐるお散歩しました。
不思議な迫力なのです！

You can go up pretty close to it.
There's an audio device you can rent but it's pretty damn long.
I gave up in 5 minutes and decided to just enjoy the stroll around the circle. (^▽^;)
It's so strangely majestic.



小１時間ストーンヘンジをぐるぐるして、またまた西へ。

We spent about an hour here circling around, then headed to the west again.



狭い田舎道を猛スピードで運転して、（制限速度がなぜかめちゃ速い）
しばらくすると左方向に岩がぽつぽつと出現！

We drove through narrow country roads like maniacs (Speed limit was insanely fast.)
and we found some more rocks!




なんだかただならない雰囲気。

What are all these mysterious rocks??



ここがエイブベリーのストーンサークルの始まり。
周りは平原で、とてもきれいなのです。。。

This is the beginning of Stone Circle in Avebury.
The village is surrounded by fields and hills, and is really pretty.



テリー、登っちゃった後に「触ってもいいけど登るな」というサインを発見。(^▽^;)
いつもの事だけど！！

Terry finds the sign says "You can touch it but no climbing" after climbing a rock. (^▽^;)
That's a first.




エイブベリーは程よく観光化されていた。
石で一通り遊んで。。。

There were surprisingly a lot of tourists in this small town.
It didn't ruin its atmosphere though.
We had fun with these rocks.





町の中のマナーハウスへ行きました。

Went to the Manor house inside the village.




お庭には素敵なお花が溢れんばかりに咲いている。

The garden was in full bloom.





中もすごい事になっている～。

Inside was pretty ridiculous.





「ベッドに寝たりしてみてもいいけどこれだけは触ってくれるな」と注意があった壁紙。

They don't care if you lay on the bed or open every single drawers, the only thing you can't touch is this chinese wall paper.



このお部屋がかわいいぞ。

I like this roooom.



内装も素敵だったけど、やっぱりお庭がよかったなぁ。
お日様も出て来て、とってものどか。

Interior was nice but I like the garden even more.
So peaceful!





母がどうしても行きたかったストーンヘンジとエイブベリー。
一緒に行けてとっても幸せ。
のどかな自然と、ミステリーが混じり合ったおもしろいお出かけになりました。

I'm really happy that I could come here with my Mom.
Stonehenge and Avebury were the only place she really wanted to go when we were planning the trip.
It was such a fun day taking in the nature of country side and mysterious snippets.
