Food chains

食物連鎖 food chain も食物網 food web も１つではなく複数あります。

下の英文の中から、エネルギーの受け渡しに使われている英語の動詞を見つけましょう。

There is a feeding relationship between producers and consumers. 

We call this relationship a food chain.

• Plants are the producers.
• Animals are the consumers.

A food chain describes how each living thing gets food and how energy is passed from one organism to the next.

• When we draw a food chain we use an arrow ( → )between organisms to show that one eats the other and that energy is transferred from the one organism to the next.
• A simple food chain is: grass → cow → human → worms.
• Many food chains that are interdependent and linked are called a food web.

What is claimed is:

A modular tulip assembly comprises: 

a rod receiving tulip; 

a saddle having a locking projection on a proximal portion of the saddle; 

wherein the tulip has a pair of recesses or grooves, a proximal groove or recess and a distal locking groove or recess, 

wherein the locking projection is positioned into the proximal groove or recess and holds the saddle in a pre-loaded unlocked state ready to be pushed onto a head of an implanted bone screw and upon receiving the head of the bone screw, the saddle can be moved distally relative to the tulip to a locked state by moving the proximal end of the saddle past the proximal groove or recess into the distal locking groove or recess, the locking projection fixing the saddle from moving proximally; 

wherein the tulip has internally threaded walls defining a slotted opening for receiving a rod and wherein the pair of recesses or grooves are axially spaced below the internally threaded walls.

1. A device for handling and grading living birds, wherein the device comprises:

a main member;

a receiving member rotatably attached to the main member and configured to receive and hold a bird by its scapula-humeral joint in a first position and to release the bird in a second position of the receiving member, the receiving member comprising at least two substantially V-shaped members, each of the at least two substantially V-shaped members having an elongate portion, a first leg extending downwardly from the elongate portion, a bend portion at an end of the first leg to receive the bird at its scapula-humeral joint, and a second leg extending upwardly from the bend portion; and

a locking member movably attached to the main member and configured to lock the receiving member in the first position and to unlock the receiving member to rotate the receiving member from its first position to its second position to release the bird.
