ブログを始めてからのロッドビルド第二弾は初のベイトロッド作成。
卓上旋盤を紹介した際にちょろっと出てきましたが雷魚用・ビッグベイト用を想定して人生初のベイトロッドを作成し始めました。
これぞマグナムクラフトから直接購入する醍醐味というか弊害というか、Tr6509を購入する際に、必要ないなら買わなきゃ良いのにB品のブランク、3600円で買えるとなるとついつい買っちゃった2本のうちの1本、Gp7070Bを使ってのロッド作成です。必要性ゼロで何ならルアーもベイトリールも持っていないのに、完全にロッドビルドファーストで始まったプロジェクトです。
他にもB品で選べるブランクはあったのだけど、自分が今までに持っていない性質の竿を作ろうと思ったのと、更に付け加えるならば、近くに印旛沼があるので、ブラックバスや雷魚釣り用のロッドを1本作るのはありかなと思い、特に雷魚はまだ釣ったことがないので、それに使えるB品ブランクとしてGp7070を選択。ついでにGp7070のA品には添付しているハンドル用のカーボンパイプ、MCP1X-12-44 1,900円も購入。Total 5500円のブランク＋ハンドルとなります。また、以下のFujiのガイドも同時に購入しました。

EVAグリップは全部使うわけではないので、21000円弱というところが実際のコスト。アルミフードをジャストエースの高いものにしたのとワインディングチェックを比較的多く使用したのが原因でB品ブランクなのに2万円超えになってしまいました。
結構もう出来上がってしまっていますが（あとはガイド付けるだけ）、作成の様子はぼちぼち報告していきます。しかし、ベイトリールを買わないことにはガイドのセッティングも決まらないので、まずはそれのために節約節約。。。（携帯なくしたのは痛い）。
かと言って安物買いの銭失いはしたくないので、リール買うなら、カルコンMD300が欲しいなぁ。。。
Since starting my blog, the second installment of rod building involves creating my very first baitcasting rod.
I briefly mentioned it when introducing the tabletop lathe, but I've begun crafting a baitcasting rod for snakehead and big bait usage - my first venture into baitcasting rod building.
It's the kind of allure, or perhaps pitfall, of directly purchasing from MagnumCraft that I couldn't resist. When buying the Tr6509, I ended up getting one of the two B-grade blanks, Gp7070B, that cost 3,600 yen. Even though I didn't really need it, I couldn't help myself. This project was essentially initiated with rod building in mind, even though I have zero need for it and don't even own lures or bait reels.
While there were other B-grade blank options available, I decided to create a rod with properties I hadn't owned before. Furthermore, considering the proximity of Inbanuma, I thought about making a rod for black bass and snakehead fishing. Since I've never caught a snakehead before, I selected the Gp7070 as a suitable B-grade blank for that purpose. Additionally, I purchased the carbon pipe for the handle, MCP1X-12-44, which is included with the A-grade Gp7070, for 1,900 yen. So, the total cost for the blank and handle is 5,500 yen. The total comes to 21,262 yen. Since I won't be using all of the EVA grips, the actual cost is just under 21,000 yen. The reason it ended up being over 20,000 yen even though it's a B-grade blank is because I decided to use an expensice aluminum hood from JustAce and used a relatively large amount of winding checks.
It's already pretty much completed (just need to attach the guides), and I'll gradually provide updates on the progress. However, I can't finalize the guide placement without purchasing the bait reel first, so I'll need to save up for that first... (losing my cell phone was painful).
I don't want to make a hasty decision and end up wasting money on something cheap, so if I do buy a reel, I really want the Calcutta MD300...
