Day 2 of Jutlandia Cup

Jutlandia Cup 2

It’s cloudy and a bit chilly in the morning. Hard to believe its’s July.

Today’s schedule is AG2, JP2, and Open JP.

朝は曇り空で少し肌寒く、とても7月とは思えない気候だ。

今日の予定は、アジリティ２度、ジャンピング２度、オープンジャンピングとなっている。

Tried in vain to make clean runs, disqualified in AG as we went on the next obstacle tho missing the last pole of the weaving pole.

Had a bar in JP.

Lady, like Zebra, is running pretty good, but hasn’t had a clean run because of small mistakes.

なんとかクリーンランをという思いも虚しく、アジリティはスラロームの最後を抜かして次の障害に進んで失格

ジャンピングは、またもやバーが一本落ちてしまった。

レディもゼブラ同様、内容的にはいい感じで走っているがちょっとのミスでクリーンが出来ていない。

Last run of the day is Open Class.

I really want a clean run.

The course doesn’t allow you to have a good position unless you run seriously.

My condition isn’t bad, but the injured leg bothers me as well.

Attempted with with a careful massage and a tightly fixed bandage.

今日最後のオープンクラス。

何とかクリーンランが欲しい。

コースはガンガン走らないと良いポジションが取れない。

調子は悪くないのだけれど、やはり脚の怪我が気になった。

入念なマッサージとバンテージでしっかり固定して挑んだ。

Watching other people run, some people don’t even try to take the inside and run outside, some people intend to take the inside but can’t make it in time.…

I felt unconfidence in my plan

but decided to trust the image made at the course walking and run.

他の人の走りを見ていると、インサイドを取らずに外側から行く人や、インを取ろうとして間に合わなかった人とか

自分の検分に、少し不安が出てきたが

検分の時のイメージを信じて走ることにした。

In the actual run, I was able to take the position as I planned.

I someimes get unconfident looking at other people run, but it’s often the case I do better when I run as the plan I make during the course walking.

Finally made a clean run.

My leg remained in one piece too.

実際走ってみたら、予定通りのポジションが取れた。

他の人の走りを見て不安を感じてしまう事が時々あるのだが、検分した事を信じてやった時の方が上手くいくものだ。

ようやくクリーンランが出来た。

脚も壊れることなく走れた。

The specialty of Danish competitions is the prize-giving ceremony.

Everybody honors the ones on the podium with beers in their hands.

It’s quite difficult to be on the podium as there are so many participants. But, Zebra made it in AG3 in spite that she had a bar. She managed to run the tough course, though she had a bar, very smoothly without a loss.

As we never expected the call, we didn’t have anything, not even the national flag.

デンマークの大会の名物は表彰セレモニーだ。

ビールを飲みながら、入賞した人を賞賛する。

これだけの参加頭数で入賞は結構難しいのだが、なんとゼブラがバー落下したにも関わらずAG 3で入賞した。難易度の高いコースをバーを一本落としたとはいえ非常にスムーズに無駄なく走り切った。

突然のコールに国旗も何も用意してなかった。

Tour to Europe #9

Jutlandia Cup has finally started. I've borrowed the tent from the organizer. It is very useful. Thank you very much.

いよいよユトランディアカップが始まった。テントは主催者にお願いして貸してもらった。本当にすごく助かる
ありがとうございます。

As I was carrying in my stuff, the opening ceremony started. I was listening to the P.A. And it started introducing the judges.... I ran in a rush and just made it in time for my turn.
I'm the shortest.

荷物を運び入れてる時に、開会式が始まった。何気なく聞いていると審査員の紹介が••••
慌てて走って行き、丁度名前を呼ばれた時に滑り込んだ。
私が1番小さい

The progress of the event is very smooth. One can find out his/her approximate running time by choosing your name in the website.
Also the quality of P.A. is good that helps the participants at the venue know the situation of the course walk, etc.
進行も非常にスムーズでウェブサイトで自分の名前でチェックすると、大方の出走時間が分かるようになっている。
また、音響が良くて会場内に居たら検分などの状況が明確である。


I'm impressed by the organizers and the volunteers for dealing with this many participants so smoothly.
これだけの頭数をサラッとこなす主催者やボランティアには感心する

Well, Lady has started with an Agility course.
We gave it our all, and made a beautiful clean run??
The judge ran to me as I made the goal and said "sorry, but you are disqualified." "???"
さて、レディはまずアジリティからの出走
気合いを入れて走り、見事クリーンラン??
ゴールした時に、ジャッジが寄ってきて
「悪いけど、失格だよ」
「？？？」

"You started before the whistle."
「笛を吹く前に走り出したから」

I've been doing agility for 25 years, and it was my first time to make that kind of fiasco.
25年間アジリティを、やってきて初めての大失敗だった。

In the judges meeting on the previous night, we were talking a lot about how to make the progress as smooth as possible. I also intended to cooperate for it though I don't know how helpful I could be....
I guess nobody expected me to be that cooperative.
前日のジャッジミーティングで、極力進行をスムーズにするために、という話題が盛んに出ていた。
それでスムーズな進行に微力ではあるが協力しようという気持ちは確かにあったが••••
そこまでの協力は誰も望んでいなかったと思う。

Disqualified at the moment she jumped the first bar...
スタートバー跳んだ瞬間に失格とは

Pulled myself together for the next Jumping.
Unfortunately, a bar came down.
気を取り直して次のジャンピング
残念なことにバーが一本落ちてしまった

The last one was the open class.
All classes 1, 2 and 3 teams can participate in this class. Qualifiers for the final on the last day are decided by the total results in this class.
Of course I can't participate in the final because I'm judging it.

The judge is Gabi, I love her courses.
I tried enthusiastically, but Lady was too enthusiastic. She was sucked into the tunnel, and lost.
最後はオープンクラス。
このクラスは1度2度3度全てのペアが参加できる。そしてオープンクラスの総合成績で最終日のファイナルへの出場権が得られる。
勿論、今回はファイナルでジャッジをやるので出ることは出来ない。
ジャッジは大好きなGabiのコースだ
張り切って挑んだが、レディも張り切り過ぎてトンネルに吸い込まれてあえなく撃沈

Today, I should pull myself together again, and try to be reasonably enthusiastic, not too much.
今日は気を取り直して、張り切りすぎないように程よく頑張ろう

Tour to Europe #8

Went to the venue yesterday afternoon, and checked in.

The bib number is 643, can be pronounced “Mushi-san” which means Mr./Ms. Bug in Japanese.

 It suits Lady as a ladybug.

The setup at the venue had been done with the participants’ tents around rings which created a joyous mood completely different from yesterday.

I’ve been participating in this Danish competition three years in a row now, and I saw some familiar faces to greet. 

This is what I feel every year, but, this event has a very good atmosphere, and people are very nice.

As I was walking I saw Kees, “the Barefoot King.” I’d just met him last week. So it’s not “long time no see,“ but “short time no see” ?? 

I will see him again at the EO too. 

Went back to the hotel, left the dogs there, and headed to a supermarket nearby.

When I came back to the hotel…

 OMG!!!

Lady looks very docile but can be very naughty. This is the third time.

The first one was on the first day we arrived in Sweden. I was out only for a short while, and she made a hole on a brand new mesh fabric portable crate so she can have the welcome food provided by the hotel.

 

OMG!!!

The second one happened in this hotel. She got the egg shell, of the fried egg I cooked, from the bin and ate it when I wasn’t watching.

And this was the third time.

Well, the competition is starting today.

I swear to myself not to take my eyes off her while running.

昨日は午後から会場へ行き、チェックインを済ませた。

ゼッケン番号は 643 “虫さん”     

てんとう虫のレディにピッタリの番号だ。

会場は設営も済んでいて、参加者達もリンクの周りにテントを張り、昨日とはうってかわって賑やかになっていた。

デンマークの大会は3年続けての参加となり顔なじみの人達もたくさんいて挨拶を交わす。

毎年感じるが、デンマークの大会は雰囲気が良くて皆暖かく受け入れてくれる。

歩いていると“裸足の王様” Kees が

先週末スウェーデンで会ったばかりで、

Long time no see ではなく

Short time no see??

そして更にEOでも会う事になる。

一旦、ホテルに戻り犬達を部屋に置いて近くのスーパーに食材を買いに行く。

帰ってみると

レディはおとなしそうな顔をして、いろいろやってくれる。

今回コレで3回目だ。

第1回目はスウェーデンに着いた初日にちょっと目を離したすきに新品のメッシュゲージに穴をあけて部屋に置いてあったウェルカムfoodを食ってた事。

第2回目はここのホテルでちょっと目を離したすきに、ゴミ箱を漁って目玉焼き作った時のタマゴの殻を食ってた。

そして今回が３回目だ

さて今日から大会本番。

走る時に目を離さない事だと心に誓う。
