つぎに concern /kənˈsəːʳn/ を取り上げます。
『ジーニアス英和辞典』には「〈物・事が〉〈人〉に関係する，影響する」と記載されています。
LDOCE では "[not in passive] if a story, book, report etc concerns someone or something, it is about them" と定義されています。
したがって、"pertain to" や "pertaining to" には「フォーマルな」ニュアンスが含まれており、かしこまった印象を受けます。
