Hi, there.
The emperor of Japan now is H. M. Naruhito, and his era is called "Reiwa".
Two letter of "Rei (令) wa (和)" are said to be selected from the oldest extant collection of Japanese poems.
于時初春令月→ 時に、初春の令月して→ 時は初春の令(よ)い月であり、→ It was in new spring, in a fair (令rei) month,
氣淑風和→ 気淑く風和ぎ→ 空気は美しく、風は和やかで、→ When the air was clear and the wind a gentle (和wa) breeze.
Plum flowers blossomed a beauty's charming white
→ And the fragrance of the orchids was their sweet perfume.
Hope, our society would be peaceful like the poem is telling.
