End of the Decade!
Hi all, this is Todd here!
We have reached the end of the year already!
Actually, this is the last month of this decade!
Wow!
Actually, Time magazine has called the '00s decade the "Decade from Hell"![]()
http://www.time.com/time/nation/article/0,8599,1942834-1,00.html
I agree it has been a trying decade and certainly looking forward to the new one.
But we may as well enjoy the remaining days. Especially since its time for celebrations,
We have year-end parties, we have the Christmas parties. And, there are so many beautiful decorations all around Tokyo to enjoy!
While there are so many attractions to see, my top 3 recommended choices for Illumination gazing is:
(Drum roll please!!!)
① Roppongi Midtown
- Check out the garden in the back!
② Odaiba Mediage
- The Christmas tree is supposed to change colours depending on the music mood!
③ Caretta Shiodome - Just like last year, it has a soothing blue feeling.
This is my last blog this year so I wish everyone Happy Holidays and a very Happy New Decade!!!
2010, here we come!

Thanksgiving!
Hello everyone!
Do you know what tomorrow is?
It's one of the biggest holidays in
![]()
Thanksgiving Day celebrates the first time European settlers worked together & had dinner with the natives Indians in ![]()
So, Thanksgiving Day, for Americans, is very similar to New Year's Day for Japanese people. Nearly all Americans have a few days-off for the Thanksgiving holiday so we can travel to our hometowns and visit our families; similar to Japanese people and the New Year holiday. And like Japanese mothers do for the New Year holidays, American mothers usually spend a few days preparing and cooking food for their families to eat during the Thanksgiving holiday. ![]()

The main difference between these days is the food. Americans don’t eat things like soba or mochi on Thanksgiving Day. We eat American food, of course. And no, American food does not mean hamburgers, pizza, or fast food! Actually, American food is a mix of European & Native American food. We eat things like bread-stuffed, baked turkey, American-style potatoes, Native-American vegetables, cranberry sauce, American-style pies (pumpkin, apple, sweet potato, etc.), candied yams, etc. And we reheat & eat the leftovers for the next few days. ![]()

Anyway, I hope you learned a little about Thanksgiving Day. Have a good one and see you next time!
