カメと泳ぐ!?ワンオペ・ランチがまさかの絶品！そして雪塩-実家無し海外在住者の日本滞在記３日目

旅程3日目

私にはちょとしたポリシーがある。

それは余程水が奇麗で温かくなければ

海に入らないということである。

オークランドの海は

私には冷たすぎて滅多に入ることはない。

ちょっと小奇麗な海さえ見せておけば

ご機嫌の夫とは相容れない部分でもある。

そんな私でも宮古の海は見た瞬間から

もう入りたい！と思わせる美しさがあった。

姉達にシュノーケリングしたいと言ったものの

どちらかと言えば夫の為であり

自分は見学でも良いくらいの気分だったが

これはやって大正解だった。

実はシュノーケリングツアー

55歳以上の人は要相談となっていたそうだ。

メンバーの半数以上が要相談ゾーンという

超大人メンバーばかりだったが

体力的にも何とかなった。

しかしながらダイバーライセンスを持つ姉は

予約前に”2本はできるね”と言っていたのだ。

2本というのはシュノーケリングツアーを

2回という意味らしい。

冗談ではない。

我々夫婦は宮古にもう一泊するが

姉と弟はこの日の午後に帰る予定でもある。

ということで夫には早過ぎると

ブツブツ言われたが無視して

朝一の7:50am発ツアー1本に決めたが

これこそ大正解だったと思う。

満潮だったのも良かったし

朝一のお陰で海も空いていたし

水もいつも以上に奇麗だったそうだ。

かなり至近距離でカメも見れたし

お魚もいっぱい見れた。

これが一本遅いツアーだったら

着替えるだけでも一苦労だったと思う。

ツアーなのでガイドさんがいて安心

穴場も良くご存じだ。

さらに写真やビデオもいっぱい撮ってくれた。

故に今回も自前の透明パウチの出番無し。

カッパ出現⁉️

ガイドさんは大阪出身の

元ダンサーだそうである。

夫に大阪出身ならコメディアンか？

と聞かれ

ダンサーだと答えていた。

ちなみに現場にホットシャワーはない。

無料で使える湧き水と

有料の湧き水シャワーがあるだけだそうだ。

有料でも構わないが水のシャワーはキツイ。

シュノーケリングツアーのスタッフに

1人１本ずつペットボトル入ったお湯を貰い

これを大切に使って塩水を洗い流した。

お湯と言ってもきっと車の中で

水がお湯になったモノだと思う。

次回は自分でも予備のペットボトルに水を入れて

持って行っても良いかもしれない。

姉弟のホテルチェックアウトが11時で

10時前にはホテルへ戻れたので

姉はそこでシャワーを浴びてから

帰り支度をすることもできた。

ちなみに弟は前日さんざん

この午前中のスケジュールについて

話題に上っていたにも関わらず

出発前にチェックアウトを済ませてしまい

ペットボトルの簡易シャワーだけで

帰途につくことになる。

そしてその後我々はMouzen Cafe

というイタリアンでランチをとるのだが

ここがまた美味しかった。

シュノーケリングの後で

お腹が空いていたのもあるかもしれないが

是非また行きたいものである。

何より驚いたのが店員さんなのか

店長さんなのかシェフなのか

オーナーなのか雇われなのか全く謎だが

男性がそこそこ混み合う店内を

たった1人で回していたことである。

なのにパスタは完璧なアルデンテ

神だったのかもしれない…

その後姉弟の出発前に

車でまだ行っていなかった島をめぐり

その途中で偶然見かけた

雪塩工場の看板を頼りに

雪塩工場見学＆お買い物。

この雪塩 YouTubeで見ていて

すごく興味があったのだ。

イソジンの水溶液が透明に戻るくらいの

すごいパワーがあるらしい。

原料は琉球石灰岩の成分が

豊富に溶け込んだ

汲み上げられた地下海水。
通常は取り除かれるニガリ分までも

凝縮するように作られている

それが雪塩！だそうである。

ミーハーだと思われたくないが

ちょうど見たい雪塩の棚の辺りに

タレントさんがいてテレビ撮影をしていた。

別にタレントさんが見たいわけではなく

雪塩を入手したいだけなのに

その場にいないといけない

どう見てもミーハーと思われてしまう

不条理劇...何か悔しかった。

Day 3

I have a little rule.

I don't go into the ocean unless the water is very clean and warm.

The ocean in Auckland is too cold for me, so I rarely go in.

This is also a source of disagreement with my husband, who is in a good mood as long as there is a slightly clean ocean in view.

But the ocean in Miyako was so beautiful that I immediately wanted to jump in!

I mentioned to my siblings that we wanted to snorkel, although it was more for my husband, and I initially felt like just watching, but it turned out to be a great decision.

It seems that snorkeling tours require consultation for individuals over 55 years old.

Although more than half of the group members were considered seniors, we managed physically.

Before booking, my sister, who holds a diver's license, mentioned, "We can do two snorkels."

Apparently, two snorkels refer to two snorkeling tours.

No kidding. My husband and I decided to stay an extra night in Miyako, while my sister and brother planned to return that afternoon.

My husband grumbled that we were departing too early, but I ignored him and opted for the first tour at 7:50 am, which turned out to be the best decision.

Due to high tide, the sea was clear, and the water was exceptionally transparent.

We spotted turtles up close and encountered numerous fish.

Had we chosen a later tour, even changing clothes would have been challenging.

Since it was a guided tour, we felt safe. The guide knew all the hidden spots and even captured plenty of photos and videos.

Consequently, we didn't need to use our own transparent pouches this time.

The guide was a former dancer from Osaka.

When my husband jokingly asked if being from Osaka meant he was a comedian, the guide humorously replied that he was a dancer.

It's worth noting that there are no hot showers available on-site. Only spring water is provided at no charge, along with a spring water shower that comes with a fee. While I don't mind paying for the shower, the cold water can be tough.

The snorkeling tour staff gave each of us a bottle of hot water, which we used carefully to rinse off the saltwater. When they mentioned hot water, it probably meant water that heated up in the car.

Next time, I might consider filling an extra bottle with water to bring along.

My siblings had to check out of their hotel by 11:00, and we returned to the hotel before 10:00, allowing my sister to take a shower and prepare to head home.

My brother, on the other hand, had talked a lot about the morning schedule the day before, but he ended up checking out before leaving and only had a quick shower using a plastic bottle before heading home.

Later, we had lunch at an Italian restaurant called Mouzen Cafe, which was delightful. Perhaps it was because we were famished after snorkeling, but I would definitely love to visit again.

What surprised me most was that the man, who I don't know if he was a waiter, manager, chef, owner or just an employee, was running a fairly crowded restaurant all by himself. And yet the pasta was perfectly al dente. Maybe he was divine...

Following lunch, before bidding farewell to my siblings, we drove around the islands we hadn't explored yet. Along the way, we stumbled upon a sign for the Snow Salt factory, which led us to tour the facility and make some purchases.

I had seen Snow Salt on YouTube and was genuinely intrigued by it. It's said to have remarkable capabilities, such as turning a water solution of “Isojin” back to transparent.

The raw material used is underground seawater rich in Ryukyu limestone components. It's processed to condense even the bittern that is typically removed, resulting in Snow Salt!

Although I didn't intend to be part of a crowd, there was a celebrity filming a TV show near the shelf where Snow Salt was displayed. I wasn't particularly interested in the celebrity; I just wanted to purchase some Snow Salt. However, my presence there made me appear like a bandwagoner no matter how you look at it, an absurdist drama... it was somewhat frustrating...
