There are certain words that people want to say. I'm sure there are quite a few people who have had to contrive a situation in order to say those lines.
It could be a phrase learned from a TV drama, a phrase learned from a book, or a catchphrase from a teacher at school...
There are probably times when you want to hear that person say that phrase again.
I really like the phrase my husband says in Japanese, "Always forget."
When I say "I forgot to buy that" or "Oh, I forgot my glasses," I get a little annoyed when he says something like "Again?" in English, but when my husband says "Always forget" slowly in the Japanese he just learned, I feel a little relaxed and even smile.
It's also good that it reduces the guilt I feel when I forget something.
My husband also seems to really like this phrase, which can be used in many situations.
