They are working very hard. They are very noisy during the night and They are 24 hours ...
だから、川を渡ったところの住まいを探した、、、。
Another one reason why we did choose New Jersey.
しかしこのときはクリスマスイブだった。彼らはクリスマスなど関係なく働いています。

MITSUWAへのお買い物
- Go shopping to Mitsuwa --
運転免許まだないが、シンガポールの免許で無事ZIPCARレンタカー
のメンバー登録して、車を借りまくった。と言うのは、買い物には必要！、アイロン台とかそういうでっかいものからいろいろな小物を含めたら大変な量になったりする。
近くには、家の修理などの道具すべてそろえるHOME DEPOT
、お部屋の中に必要なすべてのものが置いてある BED BATH & BEYOND,
とか 何でもある TARGET
や A&P
。いくらお金を使ったか大大大心配の今頃です。
そして、同じニュージャージーの北方面へ行けばなんとMITSUWA
がある。車でひたすらHUDSON川沿いの道路を３０ぐらいはしたところにある。
Now im still checking how to convert my licence to US licence. So, now Im driving car in US using Singapore licence. Seems that it should be okay temporarily. Im renting a car from ZIPCAR for do shopping a 'big' stuff in size.
There are a lot of shopping centre around, like a homeware shop HOME DEPOT, BED BATH & BEYOND and TARGET which is selling almost everything, and 1 block away I have A&P suppermarket. Had been going around these places with a car-rent. Wondering howmuch money I spent ....
Lastly we went is MITSUWA, a 30 minutes drive a long Hudson river to the North.

Here we can find a lot of information paper in Japanese !!
美味しいそうな日本料理が並んでいる、、、今回はハンバーグにした。
そして、スパーの中に入って、１５分ぐらいうろうろすると、気づいたら、うちらのバスケットはこんな感じ：
And ofcourse a plenty of nice Japanese food are sold there.
At end of the day, we found ourself buying these stuff ...
お引越し完了
- Moved ! -
お引越しの日は寒かった。雪が残っている。
鳥たちも寒そうに見える。時間が朝の８時だった。マンハッタンからニュージャージーへ。
The moving day was a bit cold. Was snowing at night before. See all the bird are look cold. It was early 8AM when we had to go to our new home at New Jersey.
そしてマンハッタンはきれいで遠くに見える。
Manhattan looks nice with a clear morning sky.
新しい家はHOBOKEN駅から路面電車の２駅目、かわいいらしい駅。
From Hoboken, we took a Light rail, kind of tram, getting off at the small cute station 2 stops from Hoboken.
そして歩いて３分のところは新しい家。
マンハッタンと比べて、良さそうな環境の街、、、
From the Light Ral station we walk about 3 minutes, surounding environment is very quite and nice compare to busy Manhattan.
シンガポールのお荷物を運んでくるトラックは９時前ぐらいに来て、そのまま作業。運ぶのとUnpacking作業でほとんど１日中。大体５時前にやっと終わった。
この日は寒かったし、くたくたでした。家の中もしばらくは整理仕切れてないだろうな、、、。
けど、シンガポールの荷物も無事きたし、引越しもしたし、少し安心。
さて、仕事するか、、、
明日はHoustonまでの出張。
All stuff from Singapore was coming in a big truck around 9AM, and the 3 guys movers soon started moved the boxes into the house. After lunch was npacking the boxes. Whole day work, finally they leave at about 5 PM...
Really tiring day, but we were happy coz all stuff from Singapore are delivered without any broken stuff. They are good! (in Singapore Im using 'SantaFe Relocation,,,)

Actually I just got back from Houston Texas, after long hour flight delayed due to heavy snow in New York/new Jersey ...

- Moving out from temporary apartment -
昨日、やっとシンガポールからの荷物(家具）などに、カスタム上陸許可が下りた。長かった、、、
と言うことは、引越しだ。
明日は、シンガポールの荷物のデリバリ、そして金曜日には一時のアパートから引越しだ。
雨も雪も降りませんように、、、。

We will be moving to our semi-permanent address.
Tomorrow they will deliver our stuff... furnitures and so on, and then on Friday we will be moving out from corporate housing.

初雪

昨日は寒いと思ったら、日曜日の今日に起きたら、雪が降ってます。いや～、外に出たくないっす。
かなり降ってます。
今日はどうしようかなあ。
Damn, after very cold Saturday, now I got a white Sunday... Looks very cold. Feeling like stayin' at home.
And the snow is quite heavy.
Mmm, how should I do today ?

晴れだけど寒い
- Very cold sunny day -
１２月の最初の日は晴れの土曜日。
ちょっと、ゆっくり起きて、昼ごはんを食べて、今日はテレビをどれがいいか店に出かけようと思った。晴れとはいえ、外は摂氏の－１度だった。いや～、シンガポールの４年間暮らしのあとはこの寒さじゃ、体がもたないですね。
まずは近くの９TH Avenueでご飯を食べて、家の５０THストリートから、北方面に向かって、BEST BUYと言う電気製品の店に行く。８ブロック先までゆっくり歩いて、晴れだけど寒すぎて、Columbusサークルにある Time Warner Centerに入った。
人が多くて、結局コーヒーも飲まずにいた。
近くのStarbucksとかもかなりの列だった。
結局、そのまま６０THストリートあたりのあるBEST BUYまでそのまま歩いた。 そのあと、地下鉄に乗って、UNIONスクエアのある PC RICHARDという電気製品の店にいた。
予定としては、何箇所にも行って、テレビのモデルは値段を調査するつもりだったが、寒くてそのまま帰った。
The first day of December was a very sunny Saturday.
Was a slow morning for me, to day plan was to go to some electronic shop, looking for checking price and model for our TV. Went out around lunc time..... but it was -1 degree Celcius. After 4 years in the tropical Singapore it was too cold ...
First we took lunch in a near by restaaurant at 9th Ave and walk to ward North to go to the nearest 'Best Buy'. But, after 8 blocks walking, it was too cold, so we turned to Columbus Circle and went into Time Warner Center for a cup of coffee.
Was a bad idea. Too many people in the building. Same as the starbucks around the area. So, we just walk a bit to Best Buy around 60th street. From there we took subway to Union Square for PC Richard & Sons. And that was it for the day. Planned to go some more shops, but couldnt stand the cold...

感謝祭には七面鳥
- Happy Thanks Giving -
これはアメリカのお祭りというか、みんなが家族のところへ帰り、一緒にご馳走をいただくと言う特別な日。ご馳走と言うのは；ターキー、マッシュポテト、ヤムとカボチャのパイがメインと言う食卓。
午前中にはパレードがある。
この日はなぜか非常に温かい。でもパレードは人ごみで家の近くの５０TH駅の地下鉄へ行くのも大変だった。
Typical Thanks Giving si for all the family gathering and enjoy the meal. The menu are ofcourse The Turkey, Mash Potato, Yam and Pumpkin Pie.
And as many years, there are parade of Thanks Giving will all the big baloon. This day was warm, hence too many people on the street. It was hard to go to subway station 50th near my place ...
今日はThanks Givingのディナーでニューヨークからかなり離れるところに行くのだ。まずは地下鉄の１号線で、南終点の South Ferryまで行って、そこからはフェリーでStaten島まで渡った。このフェリーはマンハッタンとStaten島の間をただで行ったりきたりできる。
Staten島についたら見たマンハッタンはかなり遠く、、、。
This day journey to visit a family for thanks giving dinner is really far far away. Went to the tip south of Manhattan and cross the water via a Ferry to Staten Island. Btw, the Ferry to Staten Island is free!!
そこからは３０分ぐらいかけてくるまで、Staten島の最南まで横断して、島から今度は橋を渡ってニュージャージーの一番南側に渡った。Thanks Giving 渋滞でかなりかかった。
そこからは、夏リゾートエリアのSandy Hookに向かった。このエリアはバイカーのエリアらしい。American Chopperで出ていたようなバイクも走っているし、スポーツバイクも多い。写真を取れたのはこれ：
From there crossing the big Staten Island by car to the most South area and cross the water tru a Bridge linking Staten Island to NJ southern part. Then turning to the East side eading to a famous Summer resort Sandy Hook.
It was really a long trip with the traffic jam due to thanks giving day.
３０分後にはかなりアメリカ的なきれいな家にたどり着いた。本当にすばらしい家、裏には木がたくさんあり、ザグジーもある。

最初は秋の景色で外でシャンパンとつまみ。かなり温かい秋の色。
シャンパンと白ワインと赤ワインで気持ちよくなったところで、今度はメインコースのために家の中へ。もちろんメインメニューはアメリカの何百年前から同じようなメニュー。七面鳥だった。
After got feeling good with the wine and cheese, its time to have the main menu. Yes the 'bird'! They call it 'The Bird'. Turkey, the big bird. It look nice and delicious.
でっかい鳥だ。
そして、おなかがいっぱいななった終わりにはカボチャのパイだった。かなりのハイカロリーの一日だった。

感謝祭の前の日だ。
少し落ち着いて、久しぶりにネットサーフィン、、、、先月末東京にいたけど「2007年東京モーターショー」にはいけなかった。新型Vmaxは一応あったね。

シングルリアサスペンション、タイヤサイズが２００、大きなラジエータ、ダミーではないエアインテーク、 可変バルブタイミング機構（VVT）、そしてパワーが２００HP?、こんなVmaxがほしいですね、、、。

コンビニとかにお箸を売ってくれ！！！
と言うのは、近くのいろんなところへ行って、お箸を探したけど見つからなかった！
結局おそばをフォークで食べた、そして朝ごはんの納豆ご飯をスプーンで食べた、、、。

But got 1 thing to complain to NY.
Please, please, please sell chopstick in the convinient store...

The impact was that we ate soba with a fork and for breakfast, we ate natto-rice with a spoon... this is so funny ...
結局、日本のものが売ってる店、離れた42nd Streetにあった。
いや～、新しい環境のお仕事とアパート探しで大忙しい、、、

自分の借りるアパートを見つけるまでにはとりあえず1ヶ月ぐらいサービスアパートに住むことになっている。 シンガポールのバタバタでまったく住むエリアを調べずに行った。住所だけを分かって、そしてMid Townにあるということ。JFKについたら、まずは再度、住む場所の確認、間違いないかを会社に電話を入れた。
荷物が多いためいく方法はタクシーのひとつのみ。
黄色いタクシー乗り場へ向かっているときに、人に声をかけられた。「ブラックカーですが、シティーまでですか」と言われたが、最初は怪しいと思った。ヨーロッパ系の人で英語もうまくなかった。聞いたら、50ドルでいいよと領収書をだしてくれると言われた。ブラックカーの存在も知っているので、まいいかと思って乗った。
彼は結構やさしロシア人、Brooklynのロシア町に住んでいて、娘さん二人の写真を車に飾っている。大学の友達が、日本語を勉強するために東京に行っていたとかいろいろ話してくれた。
マンハッタンまではそんなに時間がかからなかったけど、橋を東方面から渡ってマンハッタンに入ってから、目的のWest 50thまでは渋滞で非常に時間がかかった。 31日の昼のニューヨークは思ったほど寒くなかった！！
タクシーの料金はお約束の＄５０だけど、どうもチップが慣れなくてとりあえず＄６０を渡した。これでいいんでしょうか？アパートは本当にマンハッタンの真ん中で、Time Square と Central Park の間にある。どちらへも歩きですぐいけるようなところ。これは町の散歩がお楽しみだ。
でも、疲れたし眠かったしとりあえず寝た、、、
Will be staying in the West 50th Street till I get my own apartment. Its located at the Mid Town, just between Central Park and Times Square ... Hoping that I can enjoy walking around this area !!
Got to JFK on 31st Oct with a huge stuff to carry (dont know how I did carry it to Narita ... ), Took the black-car as I was approached when going to yellow taxi stands, 50 bugs to the city anywhere, not bad. Driver is a nice Russian immigrant staying at Russian city in Brooklyn. NY was not as cold as I thought.
The only problem is my jet lag... seems I am very bad with travel crossing time zones ...
