訳してみた

心の師匠、杉ちゃんの個展に向けたメッセージが素晴らしかったので訳してみた

賛否両論ある中で活躍の場をどんどん広げて行くあの行動力は本当に尊敬しかない

世界に羽ばたく日も近いだろうぁ







僕が、昔、ある事で殆どのギャラリーさんが離れていった事がありました。傷モノの作家を扱うとギャラリーさんの評判も落としてしまい他の取り扱っている作家さんのイメージも悪くなるからという訳です。

Most of galleries left me in the past, because of the one thing I did.

They thought if they dealt with a damaged artist, which would degrade a gallery itself then other artists might have bad names.

決まっていた展覧会予定も軒並み白紙になり展示場所を失った時、それでもいいからうちで展示しないかと熱心に声をかけてくれた画廊さんがありました。

When scheduled exhibitions were all canceled and I lost all places to exhibit my works, one gallery still wholeheartedly called me to exhbit at their gallery.

それが今回、アートフェア東京に個展形式で出さして貰うみんなのギャラリーさんでした。

That was "Minnanogallery" I exhibit this time as a personal exhibition at art fair Tokyo.

当時、熱心に声を掛けてくれた時、僕は、「僕を買ったり、展示したらオーナーさんの評判を落としてしまうかもしれないし、売れないかもしれません、ギャラリーさんに批判のメールが沢山届くかもしれません。現に、昔関係があった取引先には、そういったメールが届いているんです、、、。なので、折角なのですが、、」

At that time, I told  " If you buy or exhibit my works, owners' grades might be down or my works might not be sold, also you might get lots of criticizing emails. Actually those who worked with me before have already recieved that kind of messages. So I don't want to bother you …

するとオーナーは「やる価値があるかどうかは、自分が決めるから他人に何を言われてもいいんだ（たしかこんな、言い方だった記憶、」と答えて展覧会をしたのでした。

Then the owner answered "I do decide whether it has value or not so I don't mind no matter what somebody says." (it's vague but like this way) and held an exhibition.

アレから紆余曲折10年近く経ち、画廊さんの10周年記念としてアートフェア東京という大舞台をかりて再びみんなのギャラリーさんで展示出来る事を嬉しく思います。

Around 10 years has passed since then, I'm very glad to hold an exhibition as  Minnanogallery's 10 year-anniversary exhibition at famous art fair Tokyo.

最後に、今回のアートフェアでの個展の依頼は、約2年以上前に頂きましたので、バチェロレッテのオーディションも受けてない時です。

Finally, this personal exhibition was offered more than 2 years ago when I hadn't gone to the audition for 'bachelorette'.

ギャラリー（画廊）さん達の姿勢と先見の明もアートフェアの楽しみ方の一つかもしれません。

The attitude and foresight of gallaries might be one aspect of enjoying arts.

また、更に10年後、どうなってるんでしょうね。

What will happen in next 10 years?

物語は、まだ始まったばかりです。

京大 和文英訳やってみた

「言うまでもなく、転ばぬ先の杖は大切である。しかし、たまには結果をあれこれ心配する前に一歩踏み出す勇気が必要だ。痛い目を見るかもしれないが、失敗を重ねることで人としての円熟味が増すこともあるだろう。あきらめずに何度も立ち上がった体験が、とんでもない困難に直面した時にそれを乗り越える大きな武器となるに違いない。」

"Look before you leap" is obviously important. But you sometimes need to be brave enough to step forward without thinking about unpredictable results. You might be hurt though, accumulating failures will make you much more interesting as a human. The experiences which you never gave up and stood again must give you strong power to overcome great hardships when you face them.

京大の和文英訳の問題やってみた

調べながら、1時間近くかかってしまったわ

（英検1級、いつか本当に受かるのかしら💦）

これを試験中に辞書なしでやるって、京大生ってやっぱすっげぇ〜や

そして、この問題文、夢があって素敵と失敗を何度も重ねたおばちゃんは思います

最近、行動力のある人に惹かれる

努力している人、行動している人は本当に尊敬してしまう

西野のブログ凄く良いことが書いてあったから訳してみたら勉強になった

多くの人は「動機や覚悟の後に行動がある」と思い込んでいるから、いつまで経っても行動できないんじゃないのかなぁ？と思いました。

Many people seem to think like  "Doing comes after being motivated and determined." That's why they will never be able to move.

「腹が減ったから飯を食う」みたいな順番で、「立派な動機があるから、大きな行動ができる」と思っている方って、結構多そうです。

I guess quite a lot of people are thinking "I have great motivation then I can do it actively." as well as "I'm hungry then I eat meal."

が、実際問題、「立派な動機」なんて、成功した時に皆を納得させる為の「後付け」であることがほとんどです。

But, in reality, "great motivation” is usually just "an add on'' to convince everyone when it's succeeded.

僕の友達には、国を代表する各界のトップランナーがたくさんいますけど、皆、最初は「なんか面白そう」ぐらいで走り出しています。
全員、そこそこバカです。

I have many friends representing various fields’ top runners of Japan and they have already started when they felt "It might be fun." They are all stupid to some extend.

立ち上げの段階で、圧倒的な動機があって、今、大きな活躍をしている人って、僕はあまりお見かけしたことがないんですね。

I have rarely met successful persons with huge motivation from scratch.

是非、皆さんの周りで大きな結果を出した人に「立ち上げ時の動機・覚悟は、ぶっちゃけ、いかほどのものだったのか？」を聞いてみてください。
おそらく、ほとんどの方が「なんとなく」で始めていて、そんな立派な動機は持ち合わせていないと思います。

Why don't you ask achievers around you ''How much they were motivated and prepared to be honest at the beginning."  Probably many of them have started not with great intention but just "somehow" .

やっぱり行動あるのみだ
