フィリピンでは猛暑となっているようですが、日本の今年の夏はどうなるのでしょう
さて、本日紹介する講師は優しい雰囲気のIng先生

【Inquisitive Ing】
Q. What is one thing that interests you the most?
That’s easy - books! New worlds are entered into - real or otherwise, just by flipping pages.
I can’t count the number of places I’ve visited, the people I’ve met, and the adventures I’ve embarked on, all from the comfort of my own home. When I finish a book, I feel a little blue saying goodbye to the characters. However, I take comfort in knowing I can meet them again, anytime I want, whenever I open a book.

読み終わった後は少し寂しさを感じますが、また本を開けばいつでも登場人物と出会えのも本のいいところです
Q.What are the things you like about Japan?
There are quite a number of things I like about Japan. First, the seasons. Living in a tropical country makes me want to experience the different seasons. There’s change, and a corresponding meaning to that certain change. One would say there’s always something to look forward to.
Second, the food. Growing up on Chinese food, it wasn’t difficult for me to appreciate Japanese food, since both are similar. But the more Japanese dishes I tasted, the more I fell in love.
And last, but not the least, the people. I have come to realize that everything else may be different between the Philippines and Japan, and yet the people’s motivation is the same. Inside, we feel the same emotions, have the same dreams, and work our hardest just to make that dream a reality.

人 だそうです 常夏のフィリピンにいると日本のような季節の移り変わりを体験したくなるようですね
先生たちが住むDavaoでも日本食レストランがあるとのことで、Ing先生も味を楽しんいる様子です。益々日本の味を好きになってくれて嬉しいですね
そして、フィリピンと日本でいろいろと違いはあっても、人が感じることは同じなんだと気付いた様子です。人間の感情は、もしかしたらずっと昔から世界でそれほど変わっていないのかもしれません
Q.How do you motivate students who want to study English but find it difficult?
My students have asked me this question, time and again. And I’ve always answered them the same way.
It doesn’t matter what the reason is for learning English, what matters is that they realize how much they want to learn it. Giving them a little push, letting them know I’m always willing to help, goes a long way in motivating students who find it difficult to study English.
英語を学ぶ生徒さんへのアドバイスとして、Ing先生は英語を学ぶ理由が大事なのではなくて、どれだけ学びたいかを理解することが大切なのだと言います。生徒さんたちのモチベーションを上げてお手伝いできることを喜びにしていますよ
