英話の勉強 - English - Mixed it up!!

mix up

I found this at the Amercan restaurant Sizzler.

"Mix up" basically means 困る! For example: "I got a little mixed up, sorry." What they mean to say is "Mix it up!" Sounds fun to mix it up!

The other thing is "Tortilla." Tortillas are countable, so we need to write "Tortillas." It should say "How to make Tortillas."

I love tortillas. They are one of my favorite foods. The best tortillas I have ever had were in San Francisco at a really small shop in a shopping plaza. Sorry I forgot the name of them. I would fly to California just for them again!!

英会話 - English - Rocket

menu

Yummy! I really love have my rockets with cheese.

Well, I know, this is "ルッコラ、” but very few people from America know what rocket is. "Arugula" is the American way to say it. "Rocket" is British English.

I think the best way is to say "Italian bitter greens". And please remember that Italian is spelled with an "L."

Have a great day!

Rise and Shine!

Hello! I am happy to see the sunshine here in Tokyo today. I went shopping at Tokyu Hands to check out the umbrellas, but I couldn't see any that I liked. So I will do a little more shopping next week.

Shopping is always interesting for me. I usually find some staff member who is eager to talk with me. Sometimes they try to use English, and often my Japanese is better than their English. I try to speak only Japanese, but they continue anyway in English, EVEN IF I NEVER EVEN SPOKE ENGLISH!

Something like this:

Me: すみません
Staff: Y-y-yesu?
Me: これ、いくらですか?
Staff: This, is, ummm... aaaa... 2...12....20...2000....yen.
Me: 2000円か。。。
Staff: Do y-y-you havu eni ku-kueschon??
Me: いいえ。。。

Sometimes of course, I use English, but not when I am in a hurry. Sometimes I just need to know and go! I do appreciate it, but if I continue in Japanese, I thought that would mean I only want to speak Japanese.

A Too Sexy Shirt - Guide to English

doitshirt

Well, um, I don't know you at all and you're advertisement scares me... hahaha!

This is pretty obvious right? Everyone knows that to "do it" is something you do in a bed... well usually.

Be careful with this shirt in English speaking countries. You might find some really 変なん外人 wearing that!

RAIN RAIN GO AWAY!!!

rain

As kids we say, !RAIN RAIN GO AWAY! COME BACK SOME OTHER DAY!!!"

Sometimes I like rain, and other times I don't. I guess as it gets colder, I don't like the rain. I think this means, I can't live in Seattle. Too much rain there!

Yesterday, I gave away my umbrella, so now, I don't have one. I am not sure if I should buy a cheap one, or get an expensive one. Last time I had an expensive umbrella I left it somewhere むっ

Hopefully this next umbrella won't get lost, whether it is a cheap one or an expensive one!
