Finally, I'll write about location-limited menus that Eggs 'n Things in Japan offered till a few months ago. 日本

So far this year, as I mentioned then, I took a trip to Kyoto and Osaka in February, and Nagoya in March, and came by Eggs 'n Things there.

At the time, almost all the locations of Eggs 'n Things were serving exclusive menus, but later many stopped doing so except Kyoto and Umeda-Chayamachi locations, both of which are located in Kansai region. Well, Tokyo is located in Kanto region, just in case.

You know, Umeda-chamachi location is very different from the other locations, and it was supposed to have lots of exclusive items throughout the years since it opened, so there's no wonder they're still offering limited ones. On the other hand,  I hear "Kaoru, Uji Matcha Pancakes" have been very popular, so that's why Kyoto-limited pancakes are still available and even were offered at all the locations for a limited time.

"Nishio Matcha Tiramisu Pancakes" of Eggs 'n Things Nagoya Parco.

Actually, I love Nagoya-limited "Nishio Matcha Tiramisu Pancakes" as well as Kyoto's "Kaoru, Uji Matcha Pancakes." They use each local matcha.

Well, Uji Matcha is very famous while Nishio Matcha is not so here in Japan, either. But they both tasted great. Also, they were both beautiful. It's so-called food presentation, right? I hope Nagoya location also has been doing their exclusive pancakes. The store manager said then they were going to keep offering. I hope she can make it.

Well, I had "Nishio Matcha Tiramisu" pancakes by myself, but I was staying in Nagoya with my father, so the previous night, we went to Eggs 'n Things to have dinner together. Eggs 'n Things just renewed their grand and dinner menus in March. I'll write about the renewed menus some other time.

Of course, while staying in Nagoya, I tried other local foods too, such as Kishimen and Ise Udon. Both of them are Japanese noodles called Udon, but the former's noodles are flat. I'll write about them as well sometime. I really like noodles.ラーメン I had the latter after vising Ise Jingu and Sarutahiko Shrine, and they're not located in Nagoya, actually. It takes an hour and a half by Shinkansen, or a bullet train, from Nagoya to Ise. Eggs 'n Things has a store in Ise, too, though I didn't have time to stop by.

By the way, Eggs 'n Things in Japan marked 8th Anniversary on March 10 this year.日本 And you know what? I was born on March 10, too. Well, I went to Nagoya at the begining of March this year, so that's why I asked Ohana to decorate the plate with the messages "Eggs 'n Things 8th Anniversary" and "Hau'oli la hanau," which means "Happy Birthday" in English. The decoration is so beautiful, isn't it?

Next, three locations in Osaka; Umeda-Chayamachi, Expocity (Osaka), and Shinsaibashi. Eggs 'n Things has opened four stores in Osaka so far, and I've been to three of them.

First, Eggs 'n Things Umeda-Chayamachi, the only location that opened on the college campus andhas a lot of limited food items and beverages. On top of that, customers can use the outlets and Wi-Fi there, and this also makes the location original. They say it's a cafe rather than a restaurant. Umeda-Chayamachi's original menu is here.

I'd always wanted to have Umeda-Chayamachi's "Homemade Apple Pie." It was served with vanilla ice cream and their generous whipped cream, you know. I'm not sure if the item is still available there, though.

Well, I  posted two of the photos above when I wrote another blog article titled "Hospitality" and thanked Oginon, or Shinobu-san, the previous president of Eggs 'n Things. There was a reason why I added Umeda-Chayamachi's photos then, actually.

They have photo props like these.

Iced Strawberry Latte & Hot Banana Latte. These are original beverages of  Eggs 'n Things Umeda-Chayamachi, and they also have Chocolate Cookie Latte, Caramel Latte and so on.

I want photos of the Banana Latte only, I mean, its photos without me, but I forgot to take pictures. Well, of course, Banana Latte has an iced one as well as a hot one. When I ordered Strawberry Latte, I asked which is popular, iced or hot, and one female Ohana, a staff member of Eggs 'n Things, told me an iced one is more popular. I'm sorry to say, but I didn't like it that much. I should have tried a hot one, I guess. But she was so nice and made me smile.

Second, Eggs 'n Things Expocity (Osaka). It's located in a commercial facility near the Expo's 70 Commemorative Park. You know, the park has a famous symbol, the Tower of Sun. Unfortunately, the park closed when I went there.

Expocity (Osaka) was serving "Caramel Banana & Hot Chocolate Pancakes".

Even though I like bananas, chocolate, and caramel, I found them too sweet. I know some people would like them, but they're not to my taste. Maybe I should have ordered Kona Coffee instead of a yogurt beverage. Kona Coffee goes perfect with any sweet pancakes., you know. Well, Expocity Osaka once offered "Keo Keo Pancakes" as their limited pancakes, which used Calpico, and I'd actually wanted to try them. They must have tasted good.

Third, Eggs 'n Things Shinsaibashi.

As a matter fact, I really liked their exclusive pancakes, "Strawberry Pudding Parfait Pancakes" The whipped cream looks like a panda. It's so cute. They were not only cute but also delicous. The pudding on the pancakes was like ice cream, or it was ice cream, and it was cold but goes well with pancakes. It was so yummy.ラブラブ

You know what? I thought a female Ohana must have created Kyoto-limited "Kaoru, Uji Matcha Pancakes", which has been very popular as I've mentioned, but I was very very surprised to find that one male Ohana produced them.

Moreover, he's the one who produced Shinsaibashi-limited "Strawberry Pudding Parfait Pancakes," too. Isn't it amazing? I just couldn't believe it. I said, "I always thought women must have created these pancakes," and he told me he wanted to become popular among girls and women, so he was trying to produce items that would be loved by them, haha. I thought he was just joking to make me laugh, but he seemed serious. So funny. I still can't believe they were created by him, haha. I'm kidding. At first glance, he didn't look like an able man at all, but he is a great pastry chef, or a patissier in French.パフェYou know, as a famous saying goes, "Don't judge a book by its cover," huh?

I went to Osaka and Kyoto at the begining of February. He also told me then that the upcoming Umeda-Chayamchi's 1st anniversary pancakes, "Rich Caramel Brulee Pancakes ~White Stawberry~", were also his work. Well, it looks so good in the photo ... the pancakes have salt caramel ice cream. If I had known the item much earlier, I would have been to Osaka at the middle of Feb., not at the begining. I hope he's producing something new and fantastic again and that it's not a limited item in Kansai region but a seasonal or national item available at all locations in Japan.

I also had "Okonomiyaki Eggs Benedict" there.

This was Shisaibashi-limited Eggs Benedict inspired by Okonomiyaki. Osaka is famous for its Takoyaki, or Octpus Balls, and Okonomiyaki, you know. Okonomiyaki is like a Japanese pancake, Various toppings and ingredients including cheese can be added if you like, but it's usually topped with dried bonito flakes. There are Osaka-style and Hiroshima-style Okonomiyaki, though some even hate when people call them with the word "-style", as I mentioned before.

Well, "Okonomiyaki Eggs Benedict" was not so bad, but I prefer Kyoto-limited "Kyujo Negi & Beef Gristle Eggs Benedict." I wrote about it in "No Rain, No Rainbow" with photos.

Yum.ナイフとフォーク

Their exclusive Eggs Benedict didn't stand out at all, and it isn't available anymore, I think, but it was much better than I'd imagined. I tried it twice while staying in Kyoto. Eggs 'n Things Kyoto Shijo is one of my favorite stores.

I ピンクハートKouta Forever & Ever星

You know, Kyoto's "Kaoru, Uji Matcha Pancakes" made a national debut and it enabled us to enjoy them at any locations in Japan for a limited time. I mentioned Kyoto's pancakes many times in addition to the blog post I've just mentioned, such as in "Happy Valentine's Day 2018," "Appreciation" and "Blue."

This decoration is also beautiful. You know what? A male Ohana did this. He did a great job.

Well, after each store started to have its own original menu, I decided to go to Eggs 'n Things all over Japan in my 30s. Now that they're not offering local limited menus, what should I do? If only I had Sendai's exclusive Zunda-mochi pancakes.

In my 30s, I'd like to visit all the locations of Eggs 'n Things I mean, ones in Hawaii, America, and in Singapore, too. やしの木ハイビスカス

アメリカ I've been checking many news articles on the volcano happened in Hawaii at the begining of May ... I remember I first read the news about it during what Japanese call G.W. Some news articles mention "Pele," the goddness of volcanoes in Hawaii.

やしの木Hawaii residents leave offerings for volcano goddness Pele as lava destroys their homes by CNN

やしの木Madame Pele, Hawaii's Goddness of Volcanoes, Awes Those Living in Lava's Path by the New York Times.

I believe in god and goddess, and I can understand some people even think their volcano goddness is angry or she is trying to make people realize something important, but I don't agree with the idea that people thank goddess for the eruption or welcome it. I may hurt or upset some of you, and I'm sorry in advance. I have to say, "That's why I hate this kind of spiritual stuff."

But, as I told my honey, I came to know Hawaiian words, "Mahalo Nui Loa Ke Akua," and I think it sounds good. It means give thanks to all god and godness, or something like that in English.

流れ星 Anyway, I'm praying for your safety. All of you.

... I'll write about two seasonal items of Eggs 'n Things in Japan, which will be offered until June 3, so I'm updating this again later. → I'm done. Also, as usual, I'll correct my grammar and spelling mistakes.

NEW

"Cheddar Cheese Loco Moco" started on May 21. It tasted great. Actually, it was much better than I had expected.

It's actually a combination of a normal loco moco and a cheddar cheese topping, both of which are on their grand menu, but the seasonal item gives us both at a cheaper price, though just a little bit cheaper.

So, we can try it after the seasonal one ends next month, I mean, by ordering "Loco Moco" with a topping "cheddar cheese." You know what I mean. They say a lot of Ohana have tried Loco Moco topped with cheddar cheese.

I had them at Eggs 'n Things Harajuku after I got Blu-ray & DVD at Tower Records Omotesando Cafe near there.

One female Ohana told me "Loco Moco" with another topping "mozzarella cheese" is also great. It must be. I think I'll try them some other time.

Eggs 'n Things is doing one more seasonal item right now; "Dark Sweet Cherry Custard Pancakes."

Many Ohana of  Eggs 'n Things Harajuku are good at decorating plates with colorful chocolate pens.

As I mentioned it in a blog post "The Greatest Showman Blu-ray & DVD on May 23," I had their seasonal pancakes after I first went to Tower Records Omotesando Cafe. The cafe has been collaborating with my favorite movie, "The Greatest Showman," and offering "THE GREATEST SHOWMAN" and "THIS IS ME" lattes and so on.

Well, I'm really looking forward to this year's summer limited items. Summer is perfect for Eggs 'n Things, I think.

Aloha.ハイビスカス
