Disneyland Plus

So, the trip was booked and we made our way to Tokyo Disneyland. We knew the hotel and the attractions well as we'd been there before and had a good family time together. As always, all is well in the land of Disney… except for food. Overpriced junk food is everywhere and is not going away any time soon. Crowds of people swarm the restaurants and takeaways, proving that the business model is working as planned.

Therefore, the night before, mindful of the coming pitfalls, we made our way to a yakitori restaurant near the Disney Celebration Hotels. The food was exceptional – tender, well-seasoned and unlike any yakitori I've tried before. Must have been one of those with a secret ingredient. I wish they had something like that to complete the magic of Disneyland. I'm sure I'd feel much better about overspending!

 

 

Another recent haul of mine ...

Yep, another report on snacks.

This time I've found some crisps imported from the UK. I've never actually heard of Savoursmiths before I found them in my local convenience store. They're a bit pricey (very pricey acutally at over \300 a bag.) but I just had to try them.

They're proudly vegan and gluten free, but the most outstanding feature of Savoursmiths (apart from the high price) is the imaginative designs on the packaging.

I just love anything salt and vinegar flavoured so I thought that would be my favourite, but I actually preferred the cheddar cheese and shallot flavour.

The wagyu beef and mustard might have been my least favourite flavour but it certainly had the most ridiculous packaging!

I would never have thought of a cow dressed in a kimono standing in a bee hive! Much respect to the creatives at Savoursmiths for the crazy images.

To walk or not to walk

Anyone with a reasonable amount of health can do it. Some count their steps; others walk because they have no alternative. Anyhow, you benefit from a bit of a stroll now and again whether consciously or unaware. It’s ideal if you want to clear your mind, explore your neighbourhoods or challenge yourself.

I do it for all of the above. It’s free, except costing me some time and effort, and is a perfect getaway from monotony of closed spaces such as your home or office. So, why not make it a part of your routine?

It might be a good opportunity to have a closer, more appreciative look at life around you provided you’re not browsing your smartphone along the way.

 

Finally! The day is here ...

Costa Coffee has arrived in Ginza.

We're all fans of Costa at e.Front (in fact I've blogged at least two times about it in the past), so we were all eagerly awaiting it's opening today.

I went for the very tasty iced mocha and cheesecake today. I don't know if they normally add caramel and nuts, but it was a very welcome addition and tasted amazing (if a little expensive).

I only hope they add sandwiches to the menu!
