昨日からグレゴリー・ベイトソンの本を読み続けています。
『精神の生態学：Steps of the Ecology of Mind』と、
『精神と自然：MIND AND NATURE』です。
実は、ベイトソンのＳｔｅｐｓには、「学習理論」が、レベルＩＩＩまでの学習プロセスとしてまとめられていて、『Ａ６ノートで仕事を超仕組み化しなさい』のキーワードが「学習」であることもあって、著者の松宮さんと、ウィーナーのサイバネティックスとともに、何度か話題になりました。
しかし、Ａ６ノートシリーズで取り上げるには、ちょっと深すぎるという判断で、サイバネに少し触れるにとどめることになったといういきさつがあります。
もうひとつ、 「ＮＬＰの編集的世界観」 にも書いたように、ベイトソンはＮＬＰとも深い関わりがあります。

Impressed by Bandler and Grinder's work with Fritz Perls and Virginia Satir, the British anthropologist Gregory Bateson agreed to write the preface to Bandler and Grinder's Structure of Magic series. Bateson also introduced them to Milton Erickson who was selected as the third model for NLP. さらに、マインドマップのブザンが影響を受けたと言われる、「一般意味論」のコージプスキーに、ベイトソンも影響を受けたとされています。
コージブスキーの 'the map is not the territory'に注目したのはベイトソンだったからです。
しかし、エディトリアル・エンジンは「一般意味論」をほとんど認めていません＾＾；
アリストテレスの論理学を卑俗化している、つまり理解してない？、その意図的な？歪曲から出発したコージブスキーの論は、ハナから破綻していると見ているからです。
それで、ベイトソンの真意をあらためて確認したくなったのです。
『精神の生態学』の第１版は、例によって（汗）探しても棚の奥深く埋もれているらしく、入稿締め切りが迫っているのに見つかりません。仕方なく、アマゾンで改訂第２版を手に入れました。
第２版には、１版にはなかったベイトソンの実の娘メアリー・キャサリン・ベイトソンの濃すぎる序文がつけられていました。本が届くまで気づかなかったことです。
タイムプレッシャーが幸いしました＾＾ どちらにしても第３弾には反映されていませんが、「本の後の物語」に付け加わっていくはずです。
涙が出たのは、この序文でした。
そして続けて読んだ『精神と自然』の「イントロダクション」でベイトソンが引用している『存在の大いなる連鎖』の著者ラブジョイの、
「世界は演繹的な論理の上に永遠（タイムレス）に築かれたままになっている」という言葉でした。
