１）私たちは、あなたに感謝します。神よ。私たちは感謝します。御名は、近くにあり、人々は、あなたの奇しいわざを語り告げます。
We give thanks to you, God, We give thanks, for your Name is near. Men tell about your wondrous works.
２）「わたしが、定めの時を決め、わたしみずから公正にさばく。
When I choose the appointed time, I will judge blamelessly.
３）地とこれに住むすべての者が揺らぐとき、わたしは地の柱を堅く立てる(第一サムエル2:8)。セラ
The eretz and all its inhabitants quake. I firmly hold its pillars (1Samuel 2:8). Selah.
４）わたしは、誇る者には、『誇るな。』と言い、悪者には、『角を上げるな。
I said to the arrogant, "Don't boast," To the wicked, "Don't lift up the horn.
５）おまえたちの角を、高く上げるな。横柄な態度で語るな。』と言う。」
Don't lift up your horn on high. Don't speak with a stiff neck."
６）高く上げることは、東からでもなく、西からでもなく、荒野からでもない。
For neither from the east, nor from the west, Nor yet from the south, comes exaltation.
７）それは、神が、さばく方であり、これを低くし、かれを高く上げられるからだ。
But God is the judge. He puts down one, and lifts up another.
８）主の御手には、杯があり、(香辛料で)よく混ぜ合わされた、あわだつぶどう酒がある。主がこれを注ぎ出されると、この世の悪者どもは、こぞって、そのかすまで飲んで、飲み干してしまう。
For in the hand of the LORD there is a cup, Full of foaming wine mixed with spices. He pours it out. Indeed the wicked of the eretz drink and drink it to its very dregs.
９）しかし私は、とこしえまでも告げよう。ヤコブの神を、ほめ歌おう。
But I will declare this forever: I will sing praises to the God of Ya'akov.
10）悪者どもの角を、ことごとく切り捨てよう。しかし、正しい者の角は、高く上げられる。
I will cut off all the horns of the wicked, But the horns of the righteous shall be lifted up.
エレミヤ書25章/Jeremiah 25
15）まことにイスラエルの神、主は、私にこう仰せられた。「この憤りのぶどう酒の杯を私の手から取り、わたしがあなたを遣わすすべての国々に、これを飲ませよ。
For thus says the LORD, the God of Yisra'el, to me: take this cup of the wine of wrath at my hand, and cause all the nations, to whom I send you, to drink it.
16）彼らは飲んで、ふらつき、狂ったようになる。わたしが彼らの間に送る剣のためである。」
They shall drink, and reel back and forth, and be mad, because of the sword that I will send among them.
箴言23章/Proverbs 23
26）わが子よ。あなたの心をわたしに向けよ。あなたの目は、私の道を見守れ。
My son, give me your heart; And your eyes keep in my ways.
27）遊女は深い穴、見知らぬ女は狭い井戸だから。
For a prostitute is a deep pit; And a wayward wife is a narrow well.
28）彼女は強盗のように待ち伏せて、人々の間に裏切りを多くする。
Yes, she lies in wait like a robber, And increases the unfaithful among men.
29）わざわいのある者はだれか。不平を言う者はだれか。ゆえなく傷を受ける者はだれか。血走った目をしている者はだれか。
Who has woe? who has sorrow? Who has strife? Who has complaints? Who has needless bruises? Who has bloodshot eyes?
30）ぶどう酒を飲みふける者、混ぜ合わせた酒の味見をしに行く者だ。
Those who stay long at the wine; Those who go to seek out mixed wine.
31）ぶどう酒が赤く、杯の中で輝き、なめらかにこぼれるとき、それを見てはならない。
Don't look at the wine when it is red, When it sparkles in the cup, When it goes down smoothly.
32）あとでは、これが蛇のようにかみつき、まむしのように刺す。
In the end, it bites like a snake, And poisons like a viper.
33）あなたの目は、異様な物を見、あなたの心は、ねじれごとをしゃべり、
Your eyes will see strange things, And your mind will imagine confusing things.
34）海の真中で寝ている人のように、帆柱のてっぺんで寝ている人のようになる。
Yes, you will be as he who lies down in the midst of the sea, Or as he who lies on top of the rigging:
35）「私はなぐられたが、痛く（病気になら）なかった。私はたたかれたが、知らなかった。いつ、私はさめるだろうか。もっと飲みたいものだ。」

イザヤ書５章/Isaiah 5
21）ああ。おのれを知恵ある者とみなし、おのれを、悟りがある者と見せかける者たち。
Woe to those who are wise in their own eyes, And prudent in their own sight!
22）ああ。酒を飲むことでの勇士、酒を混ぜ合わせることにかけての豪の者。
Woe to those who are mighty to drink wine, And champions at mixing strong drink;
23）彼らはわいろのために、悪者を正しいと宣言し、義人からその義を取り去っている。
Who acquit theguilty for a bribe, But deny justice for the innocent!
24）それゆえ、火の舌が刈り株を焼き尽くし、炎が枯れ草をなめ尽くすように、彼らの根は腐れ、その花も、ちりのように舞い上がる。彼らが万軍の主のみおしえをないがしろにし、イスラエルの聖なる方のみことばを侮ったからだ。
Therefore as the tongue of fire devours the stubble, And as the dry grass sinks down in the flames, So their root shall be as rottenness, And their blossom shall go up as dust; Because they have rejected Yaweh's law of Hosts, And despised the word of the Holy One of Yisra'el.
25）このゆえに、主の怒りが、その民に向かって燃え、これに御手を伸ばして打った。山々は震え、彼らのしかばねは、ちまたで、あくたのようになった。それでも、御怒りは去らず、なおも、御手は伸ばされている。
Therefore the LORD's anger burns against his people, And he has stretched out his hand against them, and has struck them. The mountains tremble, And their dead bodies are as refuse in the midst of the streets. For all this, his anger is not turned away, But his hand is still stretched out.
オバデヤ書/Obadiah 1
15）主の日はすべての国々の上に近づいている。あなた（エドム）がしたように、あなたにもされる。あなたの報いは、あなたの頭上に返る。
For the day of the LORD is near all the nations! As you have done, it will be done to you. Your deeds will return upon your own head.
16）あなたがたがわたしの聖なる山で飲んだように、すべての国々も飲み続け、飲んだり、すすったりして、彼らは今までになかった者のようになるだろう。
For as you have drunk on my holy mountain, so will all the nations drink continually. Yes, they will drink, swallow down, and will be as though they had not been.
哀歌４章/Lam 4
21）ウツの地に住むエドムの娘よ。楽しみ喜べ。だが、あなたにも杯は巡って来る。あなたも酔って裸になる。
Rejoice and be glad, daughter of Edom, that dwell in the land of 'Utz: The cup shall pass through to you also; you shall be drunken, and shall make yourself naked.
22）シオンの娘。あなたの刑罰は果たされた。主はもう、あなたを捉え移さない。エドムの娘。主はあなたの咎を罰する。主はあなたの不義をあばく。
The punishment of your iniquity is accomplished, daughter of Tziyon; he will no more carry you away into captivity: He will visit your iniquity, daughter of Edom; he will uncover your sins.
